im going with the pats +6.5 on this one.  addai is coming back but i dont expect him to put up decent numbers and to ignite the colts run game.  not on the 1st game back at least.  the pats have been playing pretty well these past couple of weeks compared to the colts and theyre the ones getting the points.

This is by far the hardest game of the week to cap.  Here is what I could come up with.....

Indy clearly struggles against the running game, with or without Bob Sanders.  Having him back in this game will certainly help out their cause.  The bigger question however is, how healthy is he?  Is he fully able to play, or are they rushing back Sanders and Addai knowing that if they lose this game, the playoffs are a long way away.

The Pats have been a hot and cold team all year.  Cold against the Chargers, hot against the Broncos, average against the Rams and 49ers, very cold against the Dolphins.  They have yet to put together two straight solid weeks. 

Matt Cassell has steadily gotten a lot better at going through his progressions and not staring down one receiver.  This has been in large part to the offensive line giving him enough time.  He still holds on to the ball too long on occasion, but the offensive line has improved greatly since the beginning of the year.

Kevin Faulk and BenJarvis Green-Ellis are the running backs for New England tonight.  Faulk is more of a receiver, and won't be able to give you the 20 yard runs.  Green-Ellis is a rookie and will more than likely be limited in a nationally televised game, despite looking very solid the past couple weeks.

The Colts get Joseph Addai back for this game as well, however how healthy is he?  Same as Bob Sanders, they could be just rushing him back to get him on the field in a desperation move.  They were able to run the ball decent in the 1st half against the Titans, but were shut down after that.

After a long streak of Patriots domination in this series, the Colts have taken over that title, covering the last 4 matchups.  Every game has been a close one however since the 40-21 beatdown in the regular season several years ago.  Of course, those were two completely different teams for those matchups.

  • In the Patriots 3 road games this season....2 of the 3 went OVER 20 points in the 1st half. 
  • The last 5 games for the Patriots...the halftime total was OVER 20 points
  • In the Colts 3 home games this season....all 3 went OVER 20 points in the 1st half.
  • The Colts have outscored their opponents 51-19 in the 1st quarter this season.
  • The Patriots are 5-0 when leading at the half.  The Colts are 2-2.
  • The Patritos have been outscored 34-23 in the 1st quarter this year.
  • The Colts have had the lead in the last 5 games after the 1st quarter

MY PICK IS THE COLTS MINUS 6 HALF....WITH 2 KEY PLAYERS RETURNING TO THE LINEUP TONIGHT  , THEY WILL GET IT DONE..   I DONT LIKE ALL THE TRENDS THAT ALOT OF PEOPLE GO BY CAUSE ITS DIFFERENT PLAYERS AND DIFFERENT COACHES THAT DO DIFFERENT THINGS IN SITUATIONS... GL2 ALL     COLTS -6.5
