as crazy as this may sound,I donot believe the Pats will cover
this spread.
I think they will go into Jacksonville, and play down to their level.
The Pats have the division wrapped up,and look like they will be the
number 3 seed,so they are just interested in just getting the win,and
keeping everyone healthy.
Taking the Jags +14.5
Belichick isn't the kind of guy to let his foot off the gas, especially after coming off a home loss, and a butt whooping one, too. I agree that the Patriots take it out on the Jags in a big way.

WOW I see allot of emotion behind these picks..not allot of thought being put into it.
Yes NE got beat down at home in front of the world to see, and Vegas knows you saw it AND they know that many feel JAC simply sucks. They know many will immediately jump on NE based on emotion.
I told a buddy of mine that both NE & GB generally are favorites by touchdown or more in most cases. Neither does well when favored by double digits. NE is 12-16, 13-19 if you include the post season since 2007 when favored by double digits.
The fact that NE is double digit favored is more of an indictment on how bad JAC has been. They're 1-6 at home and have giving up an average of 26 points. If you simply focus on the games where they've played against potential post season, that jumps to 32 points.
With all this data, it's clear to me that you MUST take NE . All but 4 of the games I mentioned were at home. They're 3-1 on the road when favored by double digits.
YES JAC is that bad. There was talk about MJD playing but he's officially been ruled out.

They got beat by 7 at home, I dont quite call that a beat down. They may have been getting beat down in the begining, but as soon as they started clicking San Fran couldnt do nothing but hang for the ride. Now the question is, does N.E., go to Jacksonville and play the way they did the second half of the Niners game or do they just decide to just play and get by. No one can say they know what Brady and company will do, cause if anyone knew we would be rich, Im hoping the line will drop a little and then Ill probably jump on them, its a hard decision especially because Im a Pats fan.

I like betting trends mip The 14.5 looks good to me.
New England - 27 Jacksonville - 14
Jaguars +14.5 under 50.5
Jags are going to have to play one of their best games of the season just to cover. It could happen. I usually bet against the Pats as a road fav against a team coming off a su & ats loss.
I'll lose my money on the team that scored 3 pts & 10 pts their last 2 games.

Jacksonville has been a TERRIBLE home team this year, and if there's one thing New England does well is bounce back after a loss in a big way. I HATE betting on double digit favorites (especially when it's the road team), but I can't see Jacksonville even covering this spread by halftime. I have a feeling the three dozen fans in attendance will be leaving by halftime.

You're clearly a PATS fan, because you saw my second sentence referencing a BEAT DOWN and decided to cut & paste my post and get all defensive about it:
"They got beat by 7 at home, I dont quite call that a beat down."
Just relax and go back and ACTUALLY READ the ENTIRE POST. As a PAT fan, you don't appear too confident in your team against the lowly JAGUARS.
don't be a fair weather fan, take ya PATS and enjoy the holidays, because if your don't you'll be kicking yourself in the rear and that infused Egg Nog wont taste as good

Yes Iam a Pats fan and yes I did read your whole post. I wasn't trying o be defensive about your post, just simply saying that, maybe in the beginning we were get hammered but losing by 7 doesn't qualify as a beat down. As for having confidence in my team, I have a lot of confidence they will win, but a wise man once said bet smart not with your heart. If I didn't have to cover a point spread in order to win money I would be rich, however that's not the case. Being that its so late in the season it's hard to tell what teams will still be playing all out and what teams are content with where they stand in the playoff race. On paper Brady and Co. should beat Jax by 3 TD's, and I'm hoping that happens in real life. Didn't mean to sound defensive, glad we on the same page, and happy holidays to you and yours. Alohas

Good for TEBOW man! I hope he does well down there. Give the guy a shot!!! The last time he was given a starting role he won all the way to the playoff I think?
