I think the Fish are in do or die mode and will give the Pats all they can handle this Sunday. Not to mention, the Pats will be playing the Texans and 49ers in the upcoming weeks and its only human nature to look ahead to those games, even if your the well-coached Patriots. I think lady luck won't be as friendly this time around and the gift-wrapped fumble recoveries and pick-6s won't come as easy this Sunday. I also think the Fish will be playing with a little more confidence after beating a tough Seahawk team at home.
Normally I would be very skeptical backing a rookie quarterback against a Bellichek coached team, but I think Tannehill is not your average rookie. He is really starting to gel in Mike Sherman's system, who was also his head coach at Texas A&M. Last week he led an impressive 61-yard drive against one of the league's premier secondaries with only 1:32 left in the 4th quarter to kick the game-winning fg. He was accurate and precise with his throws, and the Dolphins got back to running the ball as well.
With their season on the line this week, I think the Fish lose by less than a TD. I am hoping Brady has one of those rare off days, and shows that he misses the Gronkonater.
Pats 24
Fish 20
Good Luck and please feel free to fade me. I was stupid enough to take the Jets last week.
I'm a HUGE Dolphins fan so take this whichever way you want...
The last time the Dolphins beat the Pats was in a squeaker in 2009. The year before that the Dolphins shocked the Pats in a blowout when they introduced them to the Wildcat package.
One of several problems I have with the Dolphins offense this season is being too predictable. Bellichick is too intellegent of a coach not to be able to gameplan against the Dolphins predictable offense. Tannehill will also need to be perfect in passing the ball against the Pats pass defense, as last week was the first time Tannehill turned the ball over and still came out a winner. If there was any offensive packages that they have yet to have shown this season then this is the game to show them...Shock the PATS!!
The once stellar Jake Long is having his worst season thus far. The Dolphins o-line will really need to step up there game or it will be a very long day for the rookie Tannehill.
One of Tannehill's strengths is his mobility. He did not use it much this season until last week against the Seahawks which was one of the big reasons why the Dolphins could extend there drives.
Don't get me started on the Dolphins pass defense lol...The Dolphins front seven will need to pressure Brady and put him on his back. If the Dolphins gives Brady all day to throw the Dolphins corners will not know what hit them.
