At any rate, Payton said that the Saints will be playing their starters and playing this game to win, as in, a regular season game in the early part of the season.

No let up from the Saints here.

Do they win then?  That's up to you to decide.  I would say yes only because the entire team is hot after blowing that TB debacle and wants to get back on the winning side before their Bye Week.

I would look at the board for other games before you decide to play this one though.  GL and Geaux Saints.

NO has the number 1 seed and that means 3 quarters max for the starters. It's hard to imagine Carolina being the dog here. The question is, will Carolina be favored by more than a TD or less than a TD?

Hmmm. Carolina has some key players banged up. Most notably S. Smith, who is out. I'm thinking maybe Carolina by 2 might be decent line for this one.

Drew Brees will be the No. 3 quarterback on Sunday, coach Sean Payton told Peter King.
If true, this is a complete turnaround from what Payton said the Saints would do all week. It sounds like Payton got scared by the Panthers' hot pass rush. Mark Brunell now appears to be in line to start, with Chase Daniel backing him up. All Saints are suddenly risky options in leagues that extend into Week 17.

Panthers -9, Saints have no reason to show here, probably wouldn't matter if they did have a reason to win ......  Carolina is RED HOT !

Saints might want to get the bad taste out of their mouths but no need to compound the issue with needless injuries. I like CAR -7 but would feel better about it with D-Wills is in the backfield for the PANTHERS.

Do the Saints really want to limp into the playoffs on a THREE game losing streak?

I've gotta feeling that the Saints will play harder than you think.  Confidence is everything.

Carolina here for me.  Easy pick......Saint's have nothing......nothing to play for here.  Carolina is looking at Moore at QB for the starting job next year and giving up on Jake.  Carolina has played very, very hard the last 3 games and is on a little bit of a roll......and like I said earlier, the Saint's aren't playing anybody.
