I mentioned to you back when the Jets beat the Colts at the end of the season that I would be taking the Jets if they happen to play the Colts again. Well it happened, so I'm sticking to my word.

Jets win outright.

I keep looking at the schedules these teams played and I can see why they got this far. The Colts played a bunch of nobody's ep.

It would be a crime if they didn't get this far. Half the teams they played were in turmoil most of the year. I see about 4 legitimate games on that Colt schedule.

Think this one over e-pics. Is it the Colts or is it last years Cardinals????

I was on the Jets big-time last week vs. the Chargers, calling for the outright upset win. The Jets pulled it off. Again they aren't getting much respect as they are getting more than a TD from the oddsmakers here. New York won last week according to plan - play great defense, pound the ball on the ground and stick around long enough to have a chance at the end. Their defense has held opponents just 14.7 points per game. The Jets have learned how to best utilize QB Mark Sanchez to limit his mistakes, manage the offense, and allow the defense to put them in position to win. But they will have their hands full this weekend vs. the Colts. Indy averages 26 points per game, and they have the best QB in the business at handling the blitz. If the Jets don't get pressure on Peyton, the Colts will have success, even against this great Jets defense. While the obvious choice in this game on the total seems to be the UNDER, I like the OVER. As mentioned, Indianapolis averages 26 points per game and they have scored 27 or more 10 times. The Jets have averaged 27 points per game over their last four games - all vs. playoff teams. They have scored 22 or more 10 times this season. I have a large play on this game to go OVER the total.

new on this forum. i see thet there are lots of guys on here with different opinions and good useful stats. i see that there are a few that heve differences but nothing that can not be handled like mature adults. im hoping that this is what this forum about. i have been reading this forum for the past 8 weeks and til now i did not want to post my opinion cause i think that there is a guy on here that deserves a little credit for making some good picks and has made me money in the past and recently too. 808pckyboy. he is being attacked from many of the others and that is because he retaliates too strongly i think and i can be the same in life so i understand.

not trying to back him up but he has made me money in these last few weeks so thanks 808. your parlay bet for this weekened is good odds and i like it. you might want to taper it down on the drama and i can see that you are now doing so. even in your reply to to your fellow saints fan that thinks your bet is bogus, but you replied humbly and that is good character. keep up the picks cause i'm folowing.

like 808 said, offense for colts to good for jets to catch up or stay close. offense for jets do not need a great defense to hold them down enough for their offense to pull ahead.

 

I still think the storybook season ends for the Jets. Indy to cover the 7.5

I am so fucking sick of the talk about the jets d.  They are good, but got multiple gifts last week. Multiple. Can't even mention them all.

-2 missed chip shot feild goals. Had NOTHING to do with Jet's D

-very lucky, once in a lifetime interception Nothing to do with Jets' D

-lots of idiotic penalties by SD

Good game- nice win- but thank San Diego as much as you beat your chest. They laid a HUGE turd.

Reminder- Jets lost 2x to Miami, lost to Jax, lost to ATL, lost to Buff and gave up 310 yards passing to Brady. Even David Gerrard waxed that ass for 215 yards. Chad Henne- 241. 

Give me a fucking break. This defense can be picked apart. And likely will.

Momentum play? Ask Dallas how that worked out. 

hilarious.  I guess buffalo and  atlanta's lack of running game really hurt them against the football jets.   

Hey guys, I read a post on yahoo saying that cbs wants jets to lose....  It's because if the jets win and goto the superbowl, they will probably lose a lot of viewers and the rating will go down.  They rather colts vs minn matchup.  Just something to think about.  If you do do jets, maybe moneyline isn't a great idea.  I'm doing colts over.  Good luck to everyone.

"4Sure", if any fact could be drawn from such a proposterous statement (which cannot be done), you're better off sooner donating your wagering pocket to Haiti. My point?  quit making a big deal about this fact. It means almost nothing as seen by the #2, 3 and 4 in this stat.

Anyone see Denver's # 3 pass defense on thier last game against Kansas City?

Don't think the Jets have enough on offense to beat the Colts, question is will they keep it within 7 - 8 points ?  I rode the Jets last week, just not sure about this one, Peyton is good enough to put an old fashion beat down on the Jets .......  leaning Colts to cover whatever the spread ends up at before game time !  BOL guys, should be a great Sunday.   WHO DAT ........

bkg- i agree. maybe i'm missing something, but I just don't see what the jets could bring that keeps this game close. 

they got some gifts last week, and likely would have covered regardless, but ask yourself, did they really win the game, or did san diego lose? 

homers, i know what you think, it was something your defense did to make the FG kicker miss two chip shots and rex ryan's awesome coaching caused san diego to have 85 yards in penalties.  yeah right.

Tough game to pick a side. I agree with Col Jim, Jets should move the ball on the ground ( 1 rush off. vs. 24 rush def. ) Although Colts should stack the box and make Sanchez try to beat them. I also agree with Easy, Colts should come out firing and try to take Jets out of their game plan. The 1st quarter will be key, if the Jets can weather the storm ( I think they can ) it should be a close game. I disagree with some of the posters on here who think the Colts will hang 30+ on the Jets. You have to go back 9 games to the NE game to find a team that did that to the Jet's D. The Colt's playoff game against Balt. and both Jets playoff games went under 39 and I believe this one will as well.  A couple of factors that should come into play. Rex Ryan's dad ( Buddy ) was one of the best defensive coaches in NFL history and was the kind of coach that players would give their all for. Rex Ryan is cut from the same cloth, his players believe they can win. Peyton Manning is a hall of fame QB however his post season performances ( going back to his college days ) have not been that brilliant. The Colts are a solid favorite and are expected to win but if the game remains close into the 2nd half the pressure on Manning could come to bear. Having said all this I believe the under to be a large play with the Jets +7.5 as a smaller play.   GLTA  

The simple fact that this is all new to the Jets will show as Indy has seen it and heard it all before . Colts will handle biz a usual colts-7.5 

Little factoids:

All three of the Colts franchise Super Bowl appearances have been in Miami, where they've gone 2-1.

The AFL/AFC team is 6-3 all time in South Florida. The last incarnation/renovation that was Pro Player Stadium had the AFC going 2-0. It has since been Land Shark, and now the new Sun Life at Miami Gardens, with no Super Bowl hosted. 

That said, ColonelJim has it about right. Still taking Jets (though with the Under). Very difficult to go against IrishEyez. He often has voodoo magic, splendid li'l tricks going on, regardless of which sport. May well lose my shirt by tonight.

First time post here, so here's my take after a lot of analysis and review of NFL replay games, this sums it up best:

It was easy to construct a winning narrative for the Jets in each of their first two playoff games; they had a defense that was uniquely suited, stylistically, for stopping the Bengals and the Chargers. The Colts are a pass-happy team, just like the Chargers, but if Rex Ryan really had a wrinkle to get consistent pressure on Peyton Manning, wouldn't it have come out by now? You don't save the money plays this long.

As tempting as it is to favor the hot Wild Card team considering what's happened in recent postseasons, don't compare apples to oranges; compare apples to apples. The Colts dominated the Jets before removing Manning and company in Week 16, with a far superior DVOA that doesn't even consider injuries or how many near-misses the Colts' offense had. The margin of victory for the Jets last time around was 14 points; they scored a defensive touchdown and a special teams touchdown, neither of which have any predicative value going forward. Barring an absolute meltdown by Manning, the Jets are going to need one of each again to make it to the Super Bowl.
