I was just skimming through this thread trying to find some useful insight on the game but have had a tough time finding anything through all of the childish arguing that has been going on....and then I saw this post.  808PICKYBOY, if you are trying to come across as knowing something about sports betting and being remotely intelligent, then maybe you should read your posts before you click "submit".  If my amateur knowledge serves me correctly, if you won this supposed parlay, then wouldn't the Saints be playing the Colts in the Super Bowl?  I seriously doubt you are making a $1,000 4-gamer on this weekends games anyhow.  By "dime" you are probably refering to $10.  Grow up and please stop the foolish behavior so the rest of us can enjoy the site for what it is intended for.

iv been leaning toward to jets all week and i like this stat a lot.

to go along with this, the jets have been getting a lot of crap for backing into the playoffs and the colts really did give them a free pass by sitting their starters late in the game. However, the score was 15-10 colts when their starters came out of the game, by no means was this a killing. if you look at the game, manning was held in check while he was in their...he didnt make any mistakes but also wasnt able to complete let loose and pick apart the jets defense. it was actually the run game that got the colts the lead while their starters were in their. Now, your given a rex ryan coached defense a second chance versus the colts (who only score 15 against them in the first meeting). i think these guys shut down the colts run game completely the second time around to the point of it being nearly non existant. Peyton Manning, who is only a career 8-8 in the playoffs, will have to do it all himself. I know he has done it all himself all year long but not against this secondary. Reevis will have wayne completely shut down and EVEN IF dallas clark gets over 100 yards recieving, where is the rest of the offense coming from??? im not gonna put my money on garcon or collie to come up big in their first ever AFC championship game versus arguably the best secondary in football.

On the other side of the ball, thomas jones has been beaten up, but greene has completely picked up the slack. A lot of speed on this indi defense but if rice can average 5.2 yards a carry last week then jones and greene will have a field day running behind this offensive line. the ravens went away from the run last week which cost them completely, and after watching the jets versus san diego, THEY WONT DO THIS. its easy to say "WHAT IF" during a football game but im gonna say it anyways, what if just one of those manning interceptions dont get called back and baltimore has one of those first and goals. its 20-10 and a different game. Not to mention besides in the last 2minutes of the 1st half, the score in that game is 6-3...news flash people, the jets defense is better then baltimores and are getting a second time against the colts this year. i cant see them getting blown out.

the jets play field position in this one, just like they did in san diego last week. Manning had two ints last week, and vegas loves how much people are on manning to be a hero. The guy won a super bowl so u got to give him credit, but if u take out their ONE super bowl year, manning is 4-8 CAREER IN THE POST SEASON. many of those teams are better then the squad he has around him this year. Peyton has lost big games in the playoffs before and whose not to say he doesnt make a key mistake in this one to.

finally, dont look to much at the home field in this game. i know thats crazy, but the jets will take the crowd out of this game. Even if the offense isnt scoring they will be pounding the ball and have a lot of 3rd and 2s etc. and just continue moving the ball. THis colts crowd is used to a high powered offense and a lot of scoring and they wont be seeing that this week. Just like the jets took a more hostile chargers crowd out of the game, they will do the same this week in indi. The jets have nothing to lose and are playing with house money, but if the colts lose this game, they not only threw away the perfect season but also lost to a team that they LET into the playoffs. talk about pressure! if the jets are in striking distance and have any momentum at the half (which i feel that they will) all of a sudden the colts are thinking "uh oh" and start to press, much like the chargers did last week.

im not going to predict a jets win but they sure have a chance to shock the world and get into the super bowl. they are gonna scrap and keep this game close and it could come down to a last minute peyton drive to decide who wins.

Wha? It's one thing to throw your erroneous pieces out there, yet another when they're not making any kind of sense.

All afternoon, the Jets kept L Tomlinson and D Sproles contained last week, and I'd take those two every day over J Addai and D Brown. Indy won't establish the run Sunday, and D Revis will be on R Wayne like static cling for the full sixty. This leaves D Clark, A Collie, and P Garcon. Will that trio produce enough yards and points to cancel out the few the Jets are expected to score?

Yes, NY Jets were beating Indy with Peyton Manning still in the game - lay down or not. The many yards put up aside, they still kept him outta the end zone.

Maybe what 808PB was on about? Another little tidbit: Arizona was the first non-divisional team to beat their opponent in the playoffs after losing to the team in the regular season (Green Bay) since 1981. Clearly, teams rest starters, and this has been a trend for five-plus years. Even considering that, the Cards made a bit of history this year.

Out on a long limb. . .Braylon Edwards will have a breakout here. It's about time! Sanchez won't pass for 300 or that, but Jets will stay in this thing - AND win.

Colts have yet to warm up to Lucas Oil in the post-season. Perhaps it is due to the rodent infestations within the complex catering? Indy are 1-1 in the playoffs following last week's win. Laugh

then it goes...jets run game VS. manning to keep up with the run game. i say no way because of the pass d.

remember, sanchez doesnt have to be great, but manning does. you wanna put $ on him being better than a td with a 7.5 spread - then take that chance. i'm bookin on him throwin one interception in the 4th that changes the game in favor of the jets to win straight up, THAT, in its purest form, when it comes down to it,- IS my bet.

Got the Jets at 13/1 to win the AFC at the beginning of the playoffs but can't see them beating Peyton in his house.  Guy is a magician at the line and he has never lost to Baltimore (Rex Ryan's former home) and he knows how to break down a blitz.

After being out of town all week and away from Covers......it was very refreshing to see that simply stated.....and I might add.......correct prognostication on the games........"expert", well you are on all 4 outcomes that I am......so I guess that makes me and "expert" too!!!   I hope we can all have some fun in the weeks leading up to the SB.  Let's try to clean up the threads.......I got through about half of this one and just decided to quit reading........

I got the Colts and the over......people can talk all they want about the Jets......but they wouldn't even be here if Indy and Cincy didn't lay down for them to run the last two games of the year off to get in.  Cincy paid a price for it......but Indy is certainly no Bungles........Peyton is due for another trip to the SB and is going against a rookie who threw 20 INT's this year!!!   In case nobody noticed, Balt was running the ball as well as anyone over the last 4-6 weeks of the season and they didn't do much against that "week" Colts D.  And yes, the Colts rank last in running in the NFL.......did anybody bother looking up were they rank in runs attempted????  Maybe somebody should........they run the ball well situationally, and that is all they need to do with Manning's offense on the field. 

Go ahead and blitz like crazy Jets........and then pay the piper as you get dinked and dunked down the field like Balt did last week.  There is a chance that the Jets cover, sure, they are getting more than a TD.  Because of that, I won't say anything about taking them and the points......but ML Jets bettors be careful.........don't get carried away with the amount you put in the water.........the chances of a Jets win on the road for a third week straight over a division champion with a rookie QB who has shown flashes of metldown over the year, with a team that was 7-7 until 2 laydown wins to get in the playoffs and now playing the best team in the league argueably........is very, very slim.  If you like the Jets, take the points.  If you are torn about the game.....don't play it or take the Colts to roll.......Sanchez is not going to the SB people........c'mon.    

This is about putting your money were the odds are.......put your feelings aside, the last week or two aside and look at the "true odds" of the "probable" outcome of this game.........Colts 34- Jets 17 sounds about right to me.  GL everyone!!!

The lack of a running game will rear it's ugly head today, especially in a game where running the ball will be extremely important.

The Jets will use it to keep Manning on the sidelines. And the Jets secondary will force the Colts to run the ball (which I don't think they can consistently do)  THE TEAM PERFORMANCE WINS OUT OVER THE INDIVIDUAL PERFORMANCE IN THIS ONE.
