I'm seeing a few posters on here saying that New England hasn't beaten  ANY winning teams this season. So what about Denver and Baltimore in the last 2 playoff rounds? Then again, the Patriots are only the # 1 seed in the AFC!

Your childish anecdotes after it make you seem like the asshole you are. Second off you are clearly a Giants homer. I must have missed the asswhoopin the Gmen gave the 49ers last week. Did not know they won 56-0. Enjoy being internet tough guys you fucking pussies.

I think I'm now leaning the other way.... towards the Patriots....

def a tough game.... everything points to the Giants yet the line is 3 points and it's Tom Brady.....

what are the odds he has 2 bad games in a row?

This game is looking more and more like the LSU-Alabama game.  Everyone loves the NYG. All day long on ESPN they show videos of NYG dominating NE just like they did with LSU.  All day long on ESPN everyone says NYG will beat NE just like they did with LSU.  All day long on ESPN everyone says NE does not have a chance just like Alabama.  But everyone saw what happened it that game.  People see what they want to see and believe what they want to believe.  Think about it.

Wayyyy too much love for the Giants in here! There's a reason the Pats are favored.. Also, everyone is so quick to shit on the Pats D. The Giants D actually finished the season giving up more points than the Pats. I don't want to hear about yardage, that's not what wins or loses games. Should be a great game. Pats win and cover..

Pats-2.5 (buy 1/2 point if necessary)

The Giants D actually finished the season giving up more points than the Pats. I don't want to hear about yardage, that's not what wins or loses games. Should be a great game. Pats win and cover..

Pats-2.5 (buy 1/2 point if necessary)

You know with all this talk about how terrible new englands defense is they actually gave up less points during the season than the giants and both were ranked near the bottom pretty much in all categories. Pats were ranked 2nd behind gbay in total interceptions...

    NEW YORK GIANTS STRAIGHT UP!
FORGET THE POINTS AND MAKE AN EXTRA 15%.
    HERE IS WHY:

#1. IN THE 70'S STEELERS BEAT COWBOYS TWICE IN THE SUPERBOWL. IN THE 80'S 49ERS BEAT BENGALS TWICE IN THE SUPERBOWL. AND IN THE 90'S COWBOYS BEAT THE BILLS TWICE IN THE SUPERBOWL. NOW COME THE 2000'S AND HERE COME THE GIANTS & PATRIOTS.

#2. LIKE 4 YEARS AGO, THERE IS A SAMENESS TO THE WHOLE YEAR: OLYMPIC YEAR, ELECTION YEAR AND THE PATRIOTS COME IN WITH A 10 GAME WIN STREAK, #1 IN THE AFC AND THE GIANTS BASICALLY BACKED INTO THE PLAYOFFS. AND LIKE THAT YEAR, THEY WENT INTO THE ROAD AND BEAT THE #1 AND #2 TEAMS PROBABLY IN THE LEAGUE.

#3. AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST, PATRIOTS HAVE NEVER BEATEN A TEAM IN THE SUPERBOWL THAT HAS LETTERS IN ITS HELMETS, THINK BEARS, GB AND NY. THE ONES THEY BEAT ALWAYS HAVE AN ANIMAL ON THEIR HELMET; RAMS, PANTHERS AND EAGLES. THE GIANTS HOWEVER HAVE 2 LETTERS, THINK OF IT LIKE THIS: 2 LETTERS, 2 SUPERBOWLS, 2 WINS BY THE GIANTS.

OH AND IF YOUR A PARLAY KIND OF BETTOR, PLAY THE OVER, NEVER IN THE HISTORY OF THE SUPERBOWL HAS 2 QB'S THROWN FOR MORE THAN 10,000 YARDS TOGETHER IN A SEASON. PLUS 55 IS PRETTY LOW ANYWAY FOR A SUPERBOWL.

    HERE ARE SOME MORE TIDBITS:

ELI IS THE BRADY KILLER. WHERE AS BRADY ALWAYS KEPT PEYTON FROM GOING TO THE SUPERBOWL, ELI'S AURA IS THAT HIS TEAM HAS BRADY'S NUMBER.

ANOTHER THING, WASN'T BRADY IN A BOOT 4 YEARS AGO? WELL NOW IT'S GRONK, SOUNDS FAMILIAR?

ALSO 4 YEARS AGO THEY HAD A VETERAN ABOUT TO RETIRE IN JUNIOR SEAU, WELL NOW THEY HAVE OCHO, WHO MOST PROBABLY PLAYED HIS LAST YEAR.

AND HOW ABOUT THE FACT THAT THEY ARE PLAYING IN PEYTON'S HOUSE? AFTER SUCH A TERRIBLE YEAR, HERE COMES BROTHER ELI TO HELP FORGET ABOUT THE PAST.

OH AND LOOK WHO'S PLAYING AT HALFTIME, MADONNA WHO STARTED HER CAREER IN NEW YORK AND WHO MOST LIKELY WILL PLAY HER SONG "I LOVE NEW YORK" FROM HER CONFESSIONS ALBUM. SOUNDS FAMILIAR? WHEN BOTH TEAMS MET IN THE LAST SUPERBOWL, TOM PETTY AND THE HEARTBREAKERS (GIANTS BROKE MANY HEARTS THAT DAY) HEADLINED THE HALFTIME SHOW. AS YOU ALL KNOW, THEIR MUSIC IS ALL ABOUT THE UNDERDOG; I WONT BACK DOWN, FREE FALLIN' AND OTHERS. BUCKLE UP, IT'S GONNA BE A HELL OF A GAME.

IF YOU DON'T BELIEVE IN THE HALFTIME SHOW AS AN IMPORTANT STAT, CHECK THIS OUT:
LAST YEAR BLACK EYED PEAS PLAYED. PEAS ARE GREEN.
THE YEAR BEFORE IT WAS THE WHO: WELL WHAT WAS NEW ORLEANS CRYING RALLY? WHO DAT?!

I'M NOT MAKING THIS STUFF UP, IF THERE WERE MORE THINGS POINTING TO THE PATS, THEN HEY THEY WOULD WIN AND THEY MIGHT STILL, BUT YOU CAN'T CHANGE THE UNIVERSE AROUND US, IT CHANGES US.

It's the Superbowl, let amateur hour begin.  Reading some these lame, inaccurate posts makes me laugh.  How have the Giants been getting all the calls?  Do you really think Brady is going to put up 37 points?

The Giants should win this game.  Their defense will be able to make more stops.  With that said, that's why they play the game.  Not buying into the questions around the line.  The Giants matchup well against the Pats.

The play is Giants +3 and ML.

After watching the Niners/Giants game, and MY Niners lost because of freaking Williams.. The bowl game is no longer interesting to me.  But... as a capper.. can't miss this one ... So.. I'm seeing 54.5 is just too much for any bowl game.. and the fact that Giants has better defense and get -3.. and being a big teaser.. I will tease Giants/Under

    6pt-Tease Giants +9, Under 60.5

wow.  this could be the most ridiculous thing i have ever read.  Black eyed peas played at last years bowl and peas are green, so green bay won?  holy cow man....

So based on your fact basis I suppose we could also assume the following:

    * This years Super Bowl is being played at lucas oil field.  Oil is black.  the giants have more black players than the patriots.  Giants and UNDER!

Maybe we could also assume the below, using your extremely advanced and calculative methods...

*Madonna will be performing the halftime show. madonna was a big popstar in the 80s. She once wore a silver cone bra. Eli's head is shaped like a cone.  Giants !

*Tom Brady has 2 kids.  Santonio holmes had 3 illegitimate kids before he left college.  He wears a green jersey.  Tom Brady has green socks.  Patriots!!!

Gonna be a tuff game.  my $ is on Pats.  Last play of the game.  WHo would you rather have driving down the field?  My money is on Brady..no matter how many kids he has!!

As a las vegas resident, and a fan of the lowly rams, i'll offer a few thoughts on this game - as an impartial observer!  The current line is new england -2.5 and the total is 54.

The patriots have the worst defense, statistically, of any superbowl representative.  The giants overall defensive #s aren't that great, but they've had significant injuries.  They defeated the pats on the road, now they are a 'dog on a neutral field?  Something doesn't add up!!!  I haven't really seen any patriot posts on here that provide ample reasoning for a new england victory.  The giants are now healthy, have been winning on the road...should be able to get pressure on brady, and should be able to put up 30+ points this sunday.  I'm taking the Gmen ML and the over (down to 54, will most likely go back up since the public loves betting the over).  Additionally, gronkowski will not be at full strength...could even aggravate the injury during the game forcing him to the bench...the only thing that worries me is that it seems like "everyone" is on the Giants in this.  However, as my buddy says, sometimes "it's just that obvious."  Can someone give me a reason to bet the patriots other than "it's tom brady and the hoodie is coaching."  ????????  Thanks!

The Back Eye Peas - ?????

I'm laughing and crying at the same time.

The above make sense to me. But nobody is talking about Special Teams and I believe the Patriots may have an advantage in the special teams. Actualy were not this years Conference Championship games decided by Special Teams?

Even at 54 I am taking the under.

i still stand by the post that the pats D can't be that bad if they made the Superbowl.  based on what ur saying I'm doubting the credentials of the "vegas" people that you allegedly know.  in regards to so called bad defenses....... look at the 06 Indy Colts.  They were ranked DEAD LAST in run defense that year and supposedly there was  NO WAY u can win a superbowl with the last ranked run D.  and what happened?!?!?!?  yeah, at the end of the reg season everyone and their mom ran roughshod on the colts D and caused a few losses.....but then again something...changed.  The D became STOUT in the playoffs and eventually beat so called conventional "wisdom" and won the who thing with the worst ranked run D in the entire nfl.   flash forward to...now.  The giants D wasn't so hot themselves.  They weren't ranked too highly themselves.  let's see...

FACT  ...the giants d was ranked 27 in the entire nfl for the 2011 reg season.  So....the 31 ranked defense faces the 27th ranked D in the superbowl. hmm......          with the  way you tell it you would think the giants would at least have a TOP TEN Defense instead of a D that wasn't even in the top 25 on paper.    But ....let's look at another stat since u allegedly know how to cap games based on "facts."    where did new england stand on PPG defense.   hmm...what the purpose of a Defense?   to keep the other team from scoring points is a simple way of looking at at.  Let's see......the giants are ranked # 25! in ppg defense while NE is ranked 15. Hmm...Ne is almost a top ten ppg defense    not just for the playoffs...but for the 2011 regular season.               not to mention....New England is ranked 2nd in the entire nfl out of 32 teams in INTERCEPTIONS.   something to think about.  based on FACTS regarding 2011 reg season statistics. I would think a lil harder basing my bets on a so called bad New england Defense.    Again....there is a REASON why new england is in the superbowl.

BTW......for the 2007 regular season New England had the 4th ranked DEFENSE and led the nfl with a record in ppg scored for the reg season.  The giants were ranked a lower 7th.  We all know how that turned out............

these are really nice stats you have come up with here.. now being ranked 31st in the league in defense when you absolutely played nobody all year and being ranked 27th when you played the harder opposition all year makes a big difference here i mean its only my opinion oh and same goes for the PPG defense....

The Patriots didn't beat a single team with a winning record in the regular season, New England, whose lone win this season against an above .500 team came last week against the Ravens.

The Giants have had success attacking the quarterback with 4 or fewer pass rushers this postseason, and it continued with 3 sacks of Alex Smith. Tom Brady only took 1 sack against the Ravens' standard pressure, but had one of his worst games of the year against 4 or fewer rushers.

The last sixteen favorites to score 30 or less points are 2-14-1 ATS, an interesting stat considering that Tom Coughlin’s teams have surrendered more than 28 points in only three of 15 postseason games while Bill Belichick’s troops have tallied more than 28 points in just six of 24 playoff contests.

The 2012 Super Bowl will be the first in which quarterbacks who each have a Super Bowl MVP award will play against one another. New England's Tom Brady is one of only four players to win it multiple times, with Joe Montana (three times) Terry Bradshaw and Bart Starr.

    - This will be the third quarterback rematch in Super Bowl history. You will like the way the other two turned out, which is shown below:

The Giants (9-7) - who defeated Atlanta (10-6), Green Bay (15-1) and San Francisco (13-3) - are only the second team to reach the Super Bowl via playoff victories over three opponents with a better regular-season record than its own (Arizona, 2008).

Since '07, Brady has posted a 4-3 record in the postseason while tossing 16 touchdowns compared to 10 interceptions and recording a 90.0 quarterback rating. Don't get me wrong, those stats are far from awful but they are nowhere near Manning's.

Manning has a 7-1 record while throwing 14 touchdowns and only four interceptions and posting a 93.2 quarterback rating.

The quarterback ratings may be close, but the record is rather alarming and so is the interception total. Another interesting stat that is extremely lopsided in Manning's favor is that he has thrown 14 passes greater than 25 yards while Brady has only six.

Since '07, it's safe to label Manning as the better postseason quarterback than Brady—stats simply don't lie.

    interesting stuff right????
