I'm a diehard JETS fan and never bet with my team....
 
But I can give a little information.......
 
I was in the meadowlands during the last matchup of these two.... what I can tell you is that the JETS can RUN on this Defense....
 
With that being said I can't see Oakland putting up much of an offense on the Jets D.....
 
I thing the JETS will cover..... I also think the Spread should be high....
 
But I won't bet with my team

until cable proves that he can get his boys to play for him the way they played for kiffin, I will assume that the raiders are top tier fading material.

I seriously think I bet Oakland every week.  I always sucker myself into betting these guys, and this short home dog makes me wanna.... but its not gonna happen.  man they better lose.

For whatever reason, the Jets are just the kind of team that can hang a lot of points and give up a lot of points. I'm going to keep an eye on this one. It seems to easy to take the Jets and the short number on the road. What is not lost on me is that the jets play on turf and the Raiders play on natural grass. Yet the Jets are favored by basically a touchdown with the spread being a key number (3). In other words, the Jets would have to win by a touchdown in order to get your money, because a 3 point win would be a push and you would have no payday.

An old betting buddy of mine once told me that if a team puts up 70+ points in three consecutive games, and are favored on the road the next week, you bet against them.  Worked last week with the G-Men on Monday night and the week before when the Chargers lost to the Dolphins. However, the system did fail when the Chargers went to Oakland three weeks ago. 
 
I like Watch's theory of a home team dog playing on a different surface than the road favorite.
 
In the end, I'll probably stay away from this one.  Oakland has too many issues.

Tough match to cap,Jets cannot be trusted as of yet and the Raiders are horrible

If this o/u is 41+ I'll be all over the Under. Jets flying cross country and playing on a different surface as Watch pointed out- there offense may sputter. As for Oaklands offense- can't see them putting up more than 13.
Could see them coming out putting up a bunch on the traveling Jets D but think there is still too much turmoil there- especially on the offensive side of the ball.
It is tough to play the Jets laying points on the left coast but think I'll be on the Under. GLTA

Jets Play well on grass though.... I think the Defense can contain Oakland.... I Like the Under in the game, but I can just see Farve chucking the ball downfield and being just to much for this Oakland D....

but 3 scares me on the road.... maybe that's why it's 3 and not 6.... cause of the home field advantage...

Farve- 1 cross body cross field throw PICK to the crib....

and maybe 1 td from oakland...

The jets may have a suspect secondary, but I dont believe Russell and the Oakland aerial attack will be able to exploit it.  Russell has completed less than 50% of his passes in 3 of 6 games this year. 
 
So maybe they can run the ball?

Against the rush the jets have been solid 2.9 ypc at home and 3.0 ypc on the road.  Oakland hardly seems like the team to break this trend. 
 
Oh yea..did we mention the Jets are a better coached team.  Oakland is 2 screws away from falling apart and Mangini should be able to come up with a game plan to soundly put oakland to bed. 
 
The only positive for oakland is their secondary and at home against a gunslinger like favre I'll give them a shot.  Thats why im not going to get crazy with this one only a 2 unit play

Everyone and their mom is on the Jets. All statistics and research point to the Jets. I keep trying to dissuade myself from leaning toward the Jets, but Oakland is just atrocious.

This is NOT like the NYG vs. Browns MNF, where the Browns actually have weapons, a solid QB, and excellent '07 record. Oakland is just plain horrible. Cable tried to increase passing plays for Russell last week against N.O, BIG mistake, he completed only 13/35. Cable indicated they will revamp their offense, meaing of course mainly rushing, which should prove fairly ineffective against a 3rd ranked rush d in the Jets. Plus, a gunslinger like Favre should continue to keep Oakland's secondary at bay much like Brees did. I'd grab this -3 gift while it's available.

There has been some reverse line movement on this game. Although i still think Jets will win, i'm deathly afraid of Vegas: 97% of the public is on NYJ/spread, and yet opening line -3.5 is now at -3?

There are better games out there (SF OVER) so i will probably be laying either a small play on NYJ or no play at all.

i think i might take okland just bc this is the sketchiest line i have ever seen...every single aspect of this game says take jets huge... wtf vegas... mannix tell me what to do... i want to put a g on jets, please help me buy a new tv...
