im from san jose/oak, read an article today about how mcfadden is feeling healthy from his turf toe injury so he should see an expanded role in a variety of looks, ie direct snap ala miami/arkansas and spread out as a slot receiver. a healthy mcfadden worries me slightly but still only leaves oakland with one dimension. 
 
not even vegas' wiseguys can reverse 5 years of finding ways to lose games.  keeping to my small 2 unit play on the jets.

Jets only favored by 3 points seems strange.  Why can't Favre carve up the Raiders like he did the Cardinals?

this game is giving me nightmares.......
 
ive have been watching raider games for years now and I just can't see how they are supposed to make this a trap.how can vegas believe this is the one time the raiders finally take and hold a lead?? why wont this line move dammit

Another game I love as much as GB is this one with Oakland + the points.  The Jets can put up some points, but so can Oakland @ home.  Oakland seems to be one of those teams that has to be at home to have any chance of putting together a decent game.  Since the line is just sitting with the public hammering the Jets, I'll take Oakland today.

Jets vs. Raiders +3 (2 units to win 2.1) - I really liked this game before I saw the public numbers, I even have the Raiders winning straight up in my pick'em.  I just looked at the figures on Sports Insights and saw an overwhelming 89% taking the Jets minus the chalk.  That's an insane number, one of the highest for an NFL game that I've ever seen.  Oakland is in disarray with the current situation, but they still have decent players and came play with most teams.  The Jets don't have the best defense, and remember how poorly they performed on their only other West Coast trip this season?  Albeit against a much better Chargers team but still.  You might want to take a look at the Raiders over team total as well, its sitting at 19 points.

What about injuries? Coles, Jenkins and Justin Miller are questionable...are they playing? The Jets run D is totally different with Jenkins clogging up the middle in their 3-4.

I agree that Jets -3 seems too good to be true but I am still laying a huge number on them. Sometimes Vegas fools people into thinking that there is something magical going on. With the exception of CB and maybe RB the Jets have more talent at every position. The game is played between the lines not between the strip joints..lol.

Also is anyone thinking Jets first half -1.5 or -2? I think that's a solid play. I might do Jets first half and for the whole game.

I'm a Jets fan, so I can't bet this one as far as the side goes. But I'm very surprised to see so many people on the Jets for this game. This looks like a trap line to me. 3 points? The Jets should be favored by 5-7 I would think. The public likes the Jets better than any other NFL team this week (76%) and yet the spread has stayed at 3 (granted it's -125 at my book). Like I said, I won't play it, but I would lean towards Oak if I wasn't a Jets fan. The public will pound the Jets closer to kick off to make up for 1pm losses, so watch out for a line move towards 3.5 or 4.

Personally I like the over here. I think the Jets will have no problem moving the ball on Oakland and I think Farve will put up some numbers today. I also think Oakland can run on the Jets and put some points up. 41 is too low of a number.
