Irisheyez, as a lifelong Eagle fan I love the big dreams in your post man, but I'm apt to agree with those who think the Eagles will come back down to earth.
Thanksgiving was nice. The Cardinals were the perfect Turkey Day gift for a struggling Donovan and an organization on the decline.
And who knows? Maybe they do what they did last year and start playing good football at the 11th hour?
But as a guy who's been following this franchise for years, it's not to feel as if the end is nigh for this particular group of Eagle players and coaches.
I believe Carlito is right re. his analysis at the line of scrimmage in this gaem.
Also, I believe there is absolutely NO creedence to the argument that the Giants will be distracted in this game. If anything, that organization just breathed a huge, albeit sad, sigh of relief.
Eventually, the cancer has to come out. And obviously, a guy like Plaxico, for whom playing football in the NFL, winning a Super Bowl and having a shot at yet another one isn't enough, was obviously becoming a cancer to that team. He's been a head-case for years and this almost feels like something he wanted to have happen.
But to the point, the Giants have proven to be unbelievably mentally sound going all the way back to just before their playoff run. Look at their record in that time for God Sakes!
It's just tough for me to imagine them having a mental lapse against a team who they know is going to be physical and can be trouble for them.
And let's not forget, the Giants can clinch today guys.
They can clinch the division and a first round bye.
They'll be ready.
And besides, the Eagles are 6-5-1 for a reason.
As much as it pains me, Giants by 10 in this one, if it's even that close.
