Strange how the team with the better record and seeminly better everything is getting the points here. Yes, I can see Philly is on the road but the Steelers defense is banged up.
Let's talk about Philly first. They've played some tough teams with good records and only lost to the Caridnals so far this season. Even though their wins don't look pretty. they're still wins regardless. The combined records of Philly's opponents this year is 9-7 with 4 of those losses belonging to the 0-4 Browns. At least 3 of the 4 teams they have played have a .500+ record.
Ok now onto the Steelers. So far they've played 3 teams with a combined record of 5-7. Only 2 of those teams are at exactly .500 and then there's the Raiders who only has 1 win to their name.
Out of these 2 teams, it seems like Philly has won against more valuable teams worth noting. Steelers has only won against the Jets which honestly looks like garbage.
Until the Steelers can prove that they can win against a quality team, I'd have to take the Eagles outright on the ML.
Last week I made a calculated decision on NE and man was that easy money in the 2nd half after worrying picking my jaw up off the floor from the first half. Then I made the stupid mistake of making an emotional pick on GB thinking they would smash due to assuming that they would be upset from the previous week's loss thanks to the replacement refs.
Won't make that mistake again this week. We'll stick to what's real and leave emotions at the door.
Philly all the way this week and taking the +3.5 and putting a little on the ML.

The Dogbeater F***ed me last week, but no way he comes back against this well rested Steelers team, he's not that good. No Way, No Way, No Way (but, *ahem* I'd buy the hook just in case)
Steel Curtain -2.5

Xyberz...Amen...Unfortunetly i happen to be an eagles fan and now that Vick is starting to get back to form, I can honestly say philly can be dangerously good. Philly 31- Steelers24

my first thought when looking at this game was steelers to win. may take philly +3.5 though...will come back to this one later on in the week and see where the line moves

I won a large play on the Pats ML.... def a rough first half....
Great Cap!,
but I'm taking the Steelers because they are off a bye week.... I'm sure their defense is going to be ready for Vick.... Big Ben's record at home is definitely something to think about as well.... If I'm not mistaken Mendenhall will be back for the Steelers.... that will add another dynamic to their offense...
GL TO ALL!

This is a bad spot for Philly...Pitt is 1-2 at home coming off a bye and a terrible loss to the Raiders. Some think an early bye hurts a team..this was the best thing to happen to the Steelers. The play of Cinn dictates a rise in performance to vie with Balt for the division...a loss here is killer.Steelers!

First off, you guys should know as cover players that football is based on a week to week basis and not who and how they played from the week before! I agree that Philly has been playing well but is also 0-3-1 ATS. Pitt is well rested and mostly definitely had time to watch film and prep for this game at home. Also lets not forget that Pitt is getting back Polamalu, Harrison, and Mendenhall for this game. Early lean is on Pitt.

Every team is watching film and prepares for the next week, no matter if they have a bye(week) or not. Also note that the Steelers have a bad ATS record coming off a bye.

Only the quote - "Every team is watching film and prepares for the next week, no matter if they have a bye(week) or not. Also note that the Steelers have a bad ATS record coming off a bye."- was mine... sorry for the mistake

I second that.... I can't stand the "well oakland beat phi, and houston beat oakland, therefore houston will beat phi....blah blah blah"
Vick is a turnover machine.....he cannot be trusted. Ben on the other hand is clutch. Playing at Heinz field is a huge advantage in this in-state rivalry game, not because of the crowd, but mentally for the players. The Steelers do not want to get beat in their house by their in-state rivals. Emotion is big in the NFL. Should be a good close game. STEELERS ML.....think this one could be 21-20

Point taken! However, steelers will come out on top and cover whether they are bad ATS or not!
