Living in Suberbia Philly I follow the Eagles Very closely; they are my favorite team, but all of us living here in Philly know that it is not often wise to pick the Eagles ATS unless you are CERTAIN they will win that game ATS.
And I am picking the Eagles win this game by 13-17. I see this game ending up in the Eagles 34, Redskins 17. No, actually, honestly, I see the Eagles winning this one in a blowout. I also predict our defense will score a TD. Make that Eagles 41, Redskins 17.
The Eagles Offensive line will get help as Watkins will be back at Right Guard vs the Redskins, moving 6'8 Kelly over to Right Tackle, the position he played in college. Then you have Dallas Reynolds who actually did have a good game vs Dallas. This allows King Dunlop to move to left tackle with Mathis at Guard. That puts Bell on the Bench; he has been HORRIBLE... That's actually now a bad Offensive line that will be playing against a less than impressive and depleted Redskins Defensive.
But honestly, look at that Dallas game; Foles had that terrible pick six, and then you had that punt return for a touchdown (all within 2:38 seconds of each other). Subtract that 14 pts from the score and it is Dallas 24 Philly 23. Oh yea, and don't forget that the Cowgirls scored on the second to last play of the game when Foles was sacked and fumbled in the endzone in the 4th quarter.
Everyone here in Philly has been waiting and praying for Foles to replace Vick at QB. Vick has been simply terrible. He still doesn't know how to identify and audible out of a blitz. He doesn't know when to throw to his Hot Route when he is under pressure. He was playing like a deer in headlights this year. I'm glad Foles is starting. This kid is a freaking Stud.
Foles went 4-0 in the preseason and led the NFL in QB rating. I'm not sure what the number was, it was 120 something with 6 tds and 1 int. YES, it was the preseason, I understand that... but he does have talent. He is also a beat, listed at 6'6 240 lbs, but I wouldn't be surprised if he is more like 260.
Also, do you know that guy named Drew Brees? Well Foles went to the same high school as Brees and he broke all of Brees records. But also, nobody knew of him because he went to school in Arizona and he was the only player on the team with any talent.
When Foles played against Dallas, he came off then bench and he had never gotten first team reps in practice all year. He will get to get 'in sync' with all the starters after a full week of practice in this one.
As an Eagles fan, I could see an excitement in this Eagles team I hadn't seen all year long when Foles came in to play QB. I had never heard the Linc that loud since the McNabb playoffs days. And the team responded and played great. The defense really picked up their game against Dallas. But then, Foles through that pick 6, you had the punt returned for a touchdoown, and the team kinda gave up.
The eagles Offensive line will play better vs the Redskins. The Redskins suck at home. The Eagles match up well against the Redskins and they have won their last 3 meetings.
I have yet to pick my Eagles to win a game ATS this year... But I am Guaranteeing they win this game Outright in dominating fashion. The Eagles are just a better team than the Redskins... and the Eagles have something to prove. They will be re-energized with Foles starting at QB.
