While I see a desparate Titans team seeing their season slip away, all indications are that they are not playing like one. Inspite of that fact, I do see them giving a spirited effort with the Steelers. I see the Steelers winning in a tight win & cover of 6-7 points.

I see my friends EWillie & Oahuboy leaning in the other direction- so this gives me a little cause to think this game even more throughly. After further analysis, I am still sticking with my original bet. My database has revealed that the Steelers have covered over 70 % of the time with less than 6 days between games. They actually did better than I expected against the Eagles (a much better team than the Titans), and the fact that they decided to select Jake Locker instead of Hasselbeck, tells me a lot about HC Mike Munchak's feelings. I also feel the Steelers have a leg up with the hiring of new offensive coordinator Todd Haley. Haley was the Arizona Cards OC and helped them to their 1 st ever SB appearance. He was also the first OC to be hired outside of the organization in over 13 years! For me to play the underdog, they would have to merit the possibly of a cover. I don't think the Titans merit that consideration.

Well this is a Thursday nighter, and Steelers are desperate for a road win, and Titans are desperate just for a W. I see this game going over 43, and Steelers winning but not covering. Pit 26 Ten 23

Ok i see. Now look. Pittsburg need this road win bad. Cincy lost and they need to try and stay close to BALTIMORE in the division. Almost a must win game. Pitt will stack the box on cj2k and ask hasselbeck to beat them and he cant!! not at this time in his career. Tenn defense will show up but will crack under pressure around the 3rd quarter. Mendenhaul has big game. 24-13 pittsburg

Titans have scored 2 legit TD's in their last two games. One of their touchdowns against the Texans came with like 55 seconds left in the game against the Texans 3rd stringers. Also, the short week will affect the Titans more than it will the experienced Steelers.
I'm taking the Steelers -5 1/2
I'd be surprised if the Titans score more than 10 in this game.

I'm over trusting the Steelers to cover anything, even what looks like a sure bet of five points against the Titans. Pittsburgh will get the job done, but it won't be pretty and it won't be in a runaway fashion. I'll figure out some way to tease it down to less than a field goal. Then I'll sweat and pray they can win by more than a point.

I'm usually a little too old school to fade a home dog on Thursday night. I was right last week in backing the Rams, but I will not allow my money to touch Tennessee. The rams are at least a team that is showing improvement under a new coach. The titans are a team in shambles, and are now in my opinion, one of the worst teams in the NFL. Hasslebeck, is not worthy of a backup spot in this league. The Tennessee front office should have been more prudent in getting a more suitable backup for Locker. Hasslebeck had all week to prepare for Minnesota last week and their offense didn't cross midfield till the 2nd half!!!!! They also had only 52 yards rushing! Freaking pathetic.
In watching the steelers, I could tell you one thing: they are great at converting at third down and they LOVE TO RUN THE BALL. W mendenhall back, look for the steelers to do much of the same. With their high 3rd down efficiency, look for the steelers to dominate the time of possession and comfortably win a very low-scoring game.
The boo birds will be out in Nashville on thursday, and the public will lock up the first leg of their teasers. It's gonna be a snoozer!!!!!
Steelers 24
Titans 13
This preview contingent on locker not starting.
