Still not sure I'm comfortable throwing my money on OAK, but I really think they cover here. Yeah SD looked good last week, but they still got 29 scored on them at home and for the second straight week, they faced a weak defense. OAK has played well the last two weeks, and with all the shennanegins that have gone on in this rivalry in past years, this should be a lot closer than most people think. OAK has a very good D (right up there with SD's) and their offense is starting to gel, starting with that run game. Again, still marinating on this one, but if i play it, I've got OAK.

Their defense continues to improve with each game as they continue to learn how to play together. The offense has been steady all year and although Oakland has a solid defense, the Chargers should be able to control the pace and build a nice lead early. If they are able to do this, which i believe that they will because of the importance of keeping up with the Broncos in the division, Oakland will not be able to climb back in the game. Their offense just isn't built to do this yet. Although the Charger's defense has struggled so far, their secondary is still among the best in the league, and their defensive line isn't too bad either. Also note that against the jets, their defense was very good, but it was their special teams that let them down. They have been at the top of the league in special teams play for the past few seasons, so look for this unit to step up big against Oakland. Throw the home field advantage out the window in this game as the Chargers will dominate from start to finish. Should win again by at least 2 TD's.

Over 45 for sure. In fact, i'm going to bet over in all of the SD games. Mediocre defense but good offense. Rivers have been on fire. Those two teams hate each other, it's going to be a physical so you will see big plays on both sides.

I have never seen a more true moneyline with respect to the points in a quite a while. Looks like there's a blowout on the horizon for the Chargers. I'm gonna have to drop some coin on this game and take the Chargers to smoke the Raiders and avoid the Monday night hex for the following week. Power up boys and girls!

No. In the past few meetings the raiders have had an answer to gates by putting huff over the top of gates, but close enough to the line to help with his strongside run responsibilities. meaning the raiders matchup well and know how to stop sd from doing what they want to do. In recent past the raiders have preped well for the chargers and there is no reason to think otherwise.
Teams often play harder for a coach that they view is getting a bum wrap from the ownership...we saw it the last two weeks, these guys are playing their heart out for kiffen...and we saw last night with Oregon State how much heart really does make a difference. On the other side, SD could very well be thinking its in the bag and could be content playing a team with a percieved lack of talent.
8 is another gift (like last week at buffalo) with the public still remembering the mnf game. I know its cliche, but this is not the same team from 4 weeks ago. This line will not go higher than 8. In fact it will come down by game time. If you like the raiders take em now. If you have to bet the chargers, wait till sunday morning and try to get at least -7. I see a potential good middle opportunity because the line could drop to 6.5.

I like the Chargers momentum coming into this one. Although it is tough to play at the Raider Nation I think that they have bigger problems. I feel for coach Kiffen wondering when his last day of coaching the Raiders will be day after day.
