Any indication of Chargers resting starters? I mean they pretty much have a lock on AFC West.

agreed the spread seems kinda suspicious to me

I have a few reasons why I believe that this is not a trap game and it is one of the many line Vegas has been so off on.

Please note the chargers record in their last 17 December games. 17-0...Note Rivers is a far superior QB than Young. The Chargers have a better defense and overall team. C.J is the best running back in the game right now but the S.D offense is too much to handle and they want that the first RD bye. Home field is great but not enough to hold off the Chargers

I think Tenn wins by 7-10 pts here. No question, I think SD is the better team, but the better team doesn't always win. (last couple weeks have been rough!!)

This is a "primetime" game, with two great QB's. Numbers don't lie, so I'm not going to compare and contrast the two, but I would personally rather have Young than Rivers. Rivers is a pocket passer and has great accuracy, but Young can extend the pocket and is just as accurate, in my personal opinion. 

I think the home team covers, but will probably play the over only.

Nevermind... I play both. Why, it's Christmas!!

I don't think any team in any league wants to play the Titans right now... they are playing great football....

with that being said... I think the Chargers are on fire.... they beat a GREAT Bengals team last week and showed they can score in the 4th quarter to come back.... I think their secondary could cause problems for Vince Young... I also think they handle a speedy-back better than a smashmouth-back... that's just my opinion... but the teams that have run on them successfully have pounded the rock.... I feel like a more finesse style runner like Chris Johnson will be less successful against a fast defense.... Benson and Mendenhall both had great games against them.... yet Philly's stable of running backs was shut down.... (again that's just my observation, not really basing hard stats on that assumption)

but when you have the TITANS on your schedule, your game-planning for CJ and only CJ....

GOTBOOST.... keyed in on a few very good points... one of those being they are playing for a first round bye.... that's motivation alone...


I think SD will put up 30 easily....

the question is how many will Tenn put up....

The OVER is probably the safest play....


but I can't stay away from a team 17-0 in December, who has won the last 8 or 9 straight.... getting points...

I am gonna buy the hook up to 4.5.....

why 4.5? because in these games that I bet 3.5 I lose by 1 point lol.... 4.5 is a safe number....

CJ is a "finesse" running back?  He may be more "finesse" than Lendale but he is far from "finesse".

Nothing is more important to a playoff team than the first round bye.  Period!

Phillips expects the same kind of game when the AFC West champion Chargers (11-3) try to win their 10th straight game and lock up the No. 2 playoff seed against a Titans team barely alive in the playoff hunt. Tennessee is 7-7.

``I don't know if there's going to be any hugs and gift exchanges going on,' Phillips said. ``There'll probably be some elbows and knees going on. But it'll be fun. We look forward to the challenge of stopping Chris Johnson and Vince Young.'

The Chargers clinched their fourth straight division title with Sunday's 27-24 win against Cincinnati. The Chargers would love to get the No. 2 seed so they can take advantage of a first-round bye.

The Titans said Monday they have lost two starting defenders to season-ending injuries with top tackler Keith Bulluck out with a torn left ACL, and linebacker David Thornton having surgery to repair his shoulder and pectoral muscle.

``It's going to be a physical game,' he said. ``How much extra stuff that's going on is not going to depend on us. It's always going to be on them because that is the kind of guys they are. Just the extra, after the whistle, or do something so you will retaliate and see if we will get a penalty, standing over the pile, they will kick you over it. That is just the way they are.'

bad choice of words.... but he's not a Brandon Jacobs, that was my point...

he is a complete back in everyway..... but his forte is not grinding out 2-5 yards.... he's a more explosive player....

that was really my point... and I think SD defense is better equiped to handle the explosive RB than the grind it out, smash mouth RB.... and that's just my opinion

Tenn -3. This game only means 1000x's more to the Titans than the Chargers. Im just not buying the this game is so important to SD so that they can secure homefield. They have a 2 game lead on both Cincinnati and NE. Also they are 3 games behind Indy, so I don't see it that way. On the other hand Tennessee is very much alive for the wild card and will be playing their hearts just like they have since VY returned as starter. And CJ is the only player you have game plan for? Come on. With VY he is almost unstoppable and is coming for Erick Dickerson.

San Diego is one of the best teams in the league when it comes to giving up the big play, something Tennessee thrives off of. Although Chris Johnson is, in my opinion, the best running back in football, dont expect his marquee through the roof game.  Tennessee' pass D is 31st in the league and Rivers is putting the ball whenever he wants.  Not to mention Keith Bulluck, the leader of the Titans D, is out and could have played a large role in limiting Gates. San Diego is looking to lock up that home field advantage and end up being too much for Fishers Titans to handle. Home field advantage plays a small role in the game and keeps the Titans lurking but San Diego wins, covers the spread, and ends Tennessees Hollywood ending.

I really hope that this goes to a pick um then it 's at it's rawest form. as good as a hand shake at work I love it !!! if we make it that far. Now back to reality . You gotta like the chargers with points Phillips and the boys will come to play and so will Tennesee I see a close game but I really like SD with the ball in their hands at the end of the game. Like Vince in the same role so ask yourself a question who will have the ball last and on Custars last stand what d do you like more .I see SD behind making a run at the end of tyhe Game to win by 1 to 2 points so I will take SD with point Final Anwser !!!!! Ok... seriously here is the deal... IF and I mean IF the chargers come out firing trying everything they got to lock this win up early you will see the titans fold in frustration as the thought of playoff hopes start to die.  If the titans can keep it close or get an early lead and lays some solid hits this game is all titans... First half will be the game.
