Will the Niners be a trendy team this season? Play well at home and get ripped a new one on the road? If so, they are in for another long Sunday in the ATL. The early start in the Eastern time zone does not help them.
Pick = Atlanta-6.5
My Guesstimate = Atlanta-27 SanFrancisco-9

what a disaster when the hell are the real 49ers gonna show up this is not an 0-4 team but were pathetic in kansas city i dont think they ever crossed mid field til the final minute . This is one league where you can turn it right around after looking so bad and everyone is gonna jump on the falcons -6.5 im gonna wait til it goes to 7 and it will , call me crazy but i think the niners show up this week where nobody is giving them a chance and could pull the upset i love the falcons team but i won`t write off this 49er team just yet i look for a big effort from them on sunday.

Last year vs Atlanta they lost 45-10 and I have seen nothing this year that make me think the outcome will be different. And the Niners were the home team last season. Look what SF has done on the road this season. They obviously look lost, plain and simple. Falcons may roll them again. Remember... the Niners were fav's to win the West, now 0-3... and fav's to win at KC, lost 31-10 in KC last week. How long can people back them before they admit the Niners have serious problems, especially on the road. SF is just 1-4-1 SU and ATS in their L-6 road games. And they are 1-8 SU in their L-9 road games and 3-4-2 ATS in those games. They are also a West coast grass team doing an early start in the Atlanta game. The only thing going for SF is that they are 7-12 SU and 10-8-1 ATS in their L-19 dome games. I'll still back the Falcons. Just wanted to add this info here.

I agree with your logic and think that the spread is probably using trick RLM. Atlanta ran a formation last year where they loaded up on one side of the ball and proceeded to slaughter the 49er's defense using good coaching and good execution. With that in mind, I wouldn't have the stones to bet on 49ers in this spot, but here's where i'm not sold eitherway...
Falcons just beat the champs and teams SUing last year's champs frequently lose their next game ATS. I've done numbers on it in past years, but it never changes. They are in a GREAT spot for a let down. then you have the 49er's who are wounded animals right now, desparate to get something started and having a lot of hate and revenge in mind for what the falcons did to them last year. The saints ran a couple sets out of the formation that the falcons busted them with in week 2 MNF and granted the sample size was small, but the 9er's defended it pretty well and the saints didn't push the issue. Also, as vulnerable as they have been (primarily due to offensive ineptitude forcing the D to do too much) I still consider this Defense to be of elite potential and not worth kicking at this point.
I know they struggled on the road, but they were road favs in both of those games and were in good letdown situations (not that i saw week 1, but i knew better week 3). Now they're getting a good chunk of points and that's a completely different situation for them as this is the time to consider playing them as they finally have good value on the road (like they did in week 2 against the champs at home). I can't help but remember what the 9er's did in minnesota early last year, being inches away from beating a vikings team that was at least as good as this falcons team is, with this same spread.
to me, the 9ers are live dogs and since i can't fade the falcons here, i'll stay away. Good luck

Agreed! I was excited to lay $ on the 49ers this year, and so far theyve let me down. and after studying them, im not crazy about this team anymore at all until i see them put a string of victories together, i will just stay away from betting on / against them. i've got a funny feeling that Singletary may end up on hot seat and / or Alex Smith may lose his job. I love Singletary, but it just seems that there's alot of inexcusable mismanagement going on with that team. And im not really sure how patient this San Fran team can be with Alexa Smith anymore cuzz she hasn't proven anything. i watched nearly every play vs. KC and the Chiefs destroyed SF in every facet of the game. im not taking away from KC cuzz i do believe they have a good team, but im just saying that SF is not playing anywhere near its potential and possibly have the wrong people in place over there. I mean seriously - how does Alexa Smith keep her job? This is her 6th friggin year! any other organization wouldve dropped her ass after the 3rd year.
if i had to bet this game, i would tease ATL

SF +6.5:
based on the Statfox trend: Home favorites coming off road wins of 1-3
points are 21-48 ATS since 2000 (Weeks 2-10 only). That and the public
will be pounding the Falcons vs. the hapless niners. I missed
the opening line of +7 but will settle for 6.5. I thought the line
should at least be double digits, but someone is begging you to bet
Atlanta... i'll take the niners in this spot with their new offensive
coord. I almost went with Lions as double digit dogs...

SF +6.5. Really like SF in this spot. As mentioned above Atlanta kicked the crap out of them last season making this a revenge spot for the 9ers. Falcons coming off of their biggest game of the year which they won going up against a 0-3 team. Now Jimmy Raye has been fired. Lots of talk about which player/s needs to be benched. Its time to rally the troops.

The statfox is huge! Letdown game for Atl after beating superbowl champs. Iron mike is tenacious and never gives up. Alex Smith actually showed a pair against New Orl. Fade that public. Trapcity baby. Sfran for the large

This will be similar to the Arizona @ Atlanta game ( I know SF is more talented the Arizona). West Coast teams struggle on the east coast early games. I always bet against west coast teams playing early on the east coast. I win about 80% or more. My favorite bets!

Atl. should be 1-2. They lost that game in N.O. No way N.O. should have missed winning field goal.
It works both ways my friemd. Beware
You are a typical NFL fan that just goes by what they see on the highlight reel. You are a fool. Saints are pathetic they were aided by luck all season. The Falcons should have won that game before the 4th even started if it wasn't for a fluke punt fumble. You clearly have no input because you only see what happens at the end.
Falcons are for real. They will beat the Niners by 35 again.

Familiar scenario here with the Falcons jumping out of the gate. Right now, the non competitive 49 er's are solar systems apart. I smell an Atlanta rout here!

By seeing your name I have offended a homer.
Homers are blindsided by their allegance to their team. I respect that. But a fool bets with his heart. I think Atl. will cover, homer so lighten up.

AMEN. the 49ers just want coach mike to lose his job. people forget...the Niners have a Good DEFENSE. unfortunately, they have a shoddy no good qb. Trent Edwards could probably give Alex Smith a run for his money. plus u have to think...ATL just came off a big OT win against their div foe. maybe ATl just blew their wad against new orleans. I don't doubt that atl will win, but know this....the home dog normally wins over 60% in the NFL. just sayin. SF +7 look pretty damn good ta mae

I am picking Atlanta for my weekly football pool, but I am not gonna bet this one. I think the niners will still make the playoffs and to do that they must win 9 and it could start here. BOL

SF has not been good at all. However, this is a good spot to take them. Letdown game for ATL and SF desperately needs a win to save their season. They play in a weak division and still have hope for their season if they pull out a victory here. SF +7

I'm not a homer you just said the Falcons should have lost to N.O. It does go both ways because Falcons won and deservedly so. You clearly didn't watch the game to see all the breaks the Aints got.
And more about this game. You all actually think the Niners can win out right in the dome??? LOL. I'd a gave the Niners a chance if they were home but they aren't. There D is awfully over rated and the Falcons will continue to fly. Falcons are a playoff team, Niners are a golf team. There as bad as the Aints.
