This game will be alot closer than people think. After firing their coordinator and getting smoked on the road yet again the 49ers and their stingy D will play the Falcons. However, the Falcons are one of the very best home teams and I do not think that they will lose this one. Should be close, but my play is on

ATL is due for a letdown after Nawlins. The 9ers are pressured at 0-3 and the team seems to always react well when pressured from Singletary. Somebody already mentioned the Minnesota game last year. Very similar situation. You can bet that Sing will have his troops rallied.
9ers +7 is the easiest play of week 4.

Gotta fade the Niners here. Atlanta only about a 68% public favorite and I think that people are still waiting for San Fran to do something. The west coast/east coast is a pretty solid trend (look at the last couple of years) and the San Fran O, as solid as they are, aren't clicking. Roddy White and Michael Turner get the job done in front of the home crowd and Alex Smith throws 3 picks.
San Fran - 19 Atlanta - 27

I wanna take the 49ers but cant find a compelling reason to take them here. Falcons defense are averaging 2 ints a game 49ers are giving up the football a lot. No question who wins the turnover battle here. Plus the 49ers defense not only are they giving up 30 points a game their 3rd down defense is terrible (46.2 %).
Their problem is like a double headed snake not only they have serious offense shortcomings their defense is not playing well either. 49 ers promoted their qb's coach to the new OC I dont know the background on him but Im not so sure if he was even a good qb's coach judging by what Alex smith has done. Plus the 49ers OL is gonna take some time to get bet better.
Searching hard to take 49ers ( plus their offensive line is allowing sacks and a lot of pressure as well) just to many problems to resovle in 1 week. Last year I watched that game def line for the falcons manhandled the 49ers line. Absolutely no reason at all that wont continue. What they couldnt do all offseason I dont see them getting everything resovled in 1 week. Plus Matt Ryan has lost only 1 game in his life at home.
Still searching cant find a reason...Only thing I can come up with is this a letdown for the falcons after beating the saints. ( pretty weak reason) next game the falcons play is against cleveland which I think will be a tougher game than this one.
NFL is not an exact science either sometimes you go against logic.. Even that is hard in this case...I still wanna take the 49ers if I can find something positive before kick off. But as it stands right now it looks like the falcons will score at least 30 points on their turf.
Atlanta 30
San Fran 13
How many of you see a letdown from the falcons here ?. I dont see it.

Good thoughts. I agree with you when you say "can't find something positive". When a coach takes over the play calling, it either fails miserably, or skyrockets. I think there are way too many other issues the Downers have to deal with besides offense.

Anyone remember what happened in week 1 in Atlanta? Atlanta Super Bowl Bound? Come on.... They are playing well, yes, they won against the Champs yes, but are they unbeatable? No. Any team can beat any team, on any given Sunday. Lets not forget, Niners got some weapons on both side of the ball. Niners here in the upset.

Keep the good posts coming, I am actually reading and enjoying what people are saying. Some of you are actually following football and putting some ideas together, I am impressed. wangichu wins the prize for best post, Clark3232 are there stats on the west coast at east coast early gms?
Stats after 3 gms:
Off Rank: ATL # 6 SF #20
Passing: ATL #16 SF #13
Rushing: ATL #2 SF #27
Def Rank: ATL #21 SF #17
Def Passing: ATL #22 SF #15
Def Rush: ATL #12 SF #15
QB: Ryan #11 94.3 Smith #28 66.2
Even though Smith has more yds/gm he has throw 5 ints and Ryan only 1
The biggest stat is the TO ratio: ATL is +4 SF is -5
ATL leads the league in Ints at 6
SF can't score. #31 at 12.7pt/gm vs ATL #6 at 25.7pt/gm
Singletary dumps Raye for MIke Johnson as O coordinator and they pass on Trent Edwards. Johnson's quote "It's like 2 women wearing the same dress."
SF is all about Gore, he has get more than 3.7/carry (4.9 in 09) or SF will lose every gm.
Their D is still good with 3x probowler Patrick Willis.
I look for Johnson to open up the playbook and be less predictable, Ryan might throw and int or 2. (He had 14 last yr so is way behind schedule)
SF should be fighting hard here to win their 1st gm, since 0-4 means another coach/player gets fired... hmmm Singletary/Smith?
Taking SF buying the half pt to -7

SF @ ATL -6.5 O/U 42.5
24.5 - 18 hits the odds

They played the #1 team in the NFL, and took the game to OT. Steelers have won the next two games quite convinvingly. Falcons are a legit team. I see them as a younger version of the Colts. Very well balanced teams both on Def. and Off. and coaching is amongst the best in the league. Overall Falcons are very well tuned and should roll on this game, even if they dont have a good game.

Kinda worried about this one because I can't figure out why the line isn't at least double digits. I hope it isn't one of those where the better team is scrambling around at the end and say setting up for a game winning FG or some shit. If so I guess then we'll know why they made it so easy for us to lay the chalk. I'm gonna be super pissed though if all of a sudden they pretend the 9ers have a chance to pull some kinda "major upset" or whatever I mean to the point to where I'll be ready to destroy an appliance or something. ALSO MAJOR HOMER CALL HERE AS WELL -- FALCONS -6.5

"We're here to score points and win games. That's the offense's job, and we haven't been doing that," Smith said. "We got outplayed just as much as we might have got out-coached on Sunday. There's no doubt about that. We're all involved in this and we're all accountable." -Alex Smith
"New Orleans only attempted 16 rushes for 43 yards, but Pittsburgh and Arizona averaged 5.9 yards per carry against Atlanta.San Francisco is 14-6 when Gore runs for 100 yards or more since 2006, and 11-31 otherwise."
(Both Excerpts taken from ESPN.com)
You have a NFL Quarterback (Smartest player in the league at that) calling out his coaching staff and a game plan as simple as running the ball with one of the leagues elite backs. Not to mention the public on Atlanta and the line movemet has either moved down a half a pont, or stayed the same!!
Give me San Francisco and the points!!
Final Play- San Francisco +6.5 (Large) & I like the over too!!
Good Luck!!

You are a typical NFL fan that just goes by what they see on the highlight reel. You are a fool. Saints are pathetic they were aided by luck all season. The Falcons should have won that game before the 4th even started if it wasn't for a fluke punt fumble. You clearly have no input because you only see what happens at the end.
Falcons are for real. They will beat the Niners by 35 again.
"The Saints are pathetic they were aided by luck all season". No doubt you are a HOMER ! Not to worry your dirty birds may win a Super Bowl before you die, maybe ??

AMEN. the 49ers just want coach mike to lose his job. people forget...the Niners have a Good DEFENSE. unfortunately, they have a shoddy no good qb. Trent Edwards could probably give Alex Smith a run for his money. plus u have to think...ATL just came off a big OT win against their div foe. maybe ATl just blew their wad against new orleans. I don't doubt that atl will win, but know this....the home dog normally wins over 60% in the NFL. just sayin. SF +7 look pretty damn good ta mae
WTF did dirty devin tell u !?!?!?!?
