Mr.Harbaugh came out on top more often than not when Stanford was coached by Mr. Harbaugh and USC was coached by Mr. Carroll. In 2007, Stanford was a 40 point dog and won 24-23. Usually, USC had the better personnel, but Mr. Harbaugh knew how to get the best of Pete Carroll. More than likely he'll figure out a way to do it again. Take Seattle at your own peril.
Yeah that really worked well for Jim the last two times he came to Seattle! Both huge games (both primetime also I believe). Both behind-whoopings

I'm a 9ers fan but I also like Seahawks a lot because I made a lot of $$ on Russell Wilson's games from N.C State and Wisconsin. He's been great during the regular season. I just don't see him doing much lately. Out of the last 3 games he played, he averaged under 150 yards passing. And the last 3 teams' defense are nowhere as good as 9ers. It's Lynch that concerns me. But the Niners are well aware of this and they probably will not allow Lynch to run more than 90 yards.
For those who said "EASY" on the Seahawks.. you probably said "easy" on Panthers didn't you? Come on.. stop for a second and look at the trend.. Seahawk recently lost to 9ners then lost to Cards.. where were the 12th man in the game vs Cards? Don't say it's not important.. you think Pete Carroll tells his team it's not important, that he doesn't want the best record? Now look at 9ers 8-game winning steak with 3 consecutive away games. This is not easy win for sure. I'm leaning on 9ers but I still like the Under. When 2 teams with strong defense and bitter rivalry are playing, UNDER is the bet.

Personally think these weekends championship games opening lines should have been switched. Seattle game should have opened -6.5 and Denver game should have opened -3.5.

I took a look at the Seattle/New Orleans game. The Saints outgained the 'Hawks 409 to 277. Seattle was trying to run the ball which will retard offensive stats and New Orleans gained a lot of their yards when they were behind in the 4th quarter and Seattle gave them the underneath pass routes. One recipe for winning football games is to run the ball, take care of it, play defense, don't beat yourself, and you win most of the time. Seattle did that, New Orleans didn't. Sure has me leaning towards the 49'ers.

They split the season series. Each won at home. Seattle plays tough at home, winning on the road there doesn't happen often. The 29-3 Seattle win was a result of 5 SF turnovers. If Seattle INT's Kaepernick like they did 3 times in Washington, they'll win. Both teams are solid defensively with fair-at-best offenses. Throwing against the 'Hawks ain't easy. There's a reason why they're favored but we'll see.

Actually a very good trends shows niners have rotated wins and losses against the spread 6 times in a row. Take a look at there last 7 games. They covered this past weekend. Also the home team has won the last 9 out of 10 between seahawks/niners.Seattle in a good spot.

I do not bet anymore. But I am a die hard 49er fan. I have season tickets, even season tickets to their new stadium starting next year at Levi in Santa Clara.
So, unobjectively, if I were looking at this game without the "fan" in me, I would say Seahawks. 23-10. I'm hoping that does not happen though. Is there a chance? If SF get's out to an early lead (like 10-0) I believe they will put SEA in an area they are not comfortable with and have a chance. Sea should control the ball though with Kap losing his composure and that crazy crowd. Trust me, I have watched EVERY GAME of his NFL career. He doesn't perform well under pressure, footwork is terrible, makes irrational decisions and a lot more of things that ESPN is wrong about too. But he is very fast!!!. That's your unobjective take from a 49er fan since birth. Good luck and hopefully My Niners win!!

Who has a better offense NO or Sf ? No easy who beat Sf by a late field goal. Seattle destroyed SF every time at home and that is the best defensive line in football who can sub in a seven man line and generate pressure. Richard Sherman will lock down whoever he covers and Earl Thomas is the best safety in football. Cam Newton was injured and dazed, terrible goal line decisions and questionable penalty calls were the Panthers downfall. And the Niners secondary is a fraud the Seahawks will spread them out and take advantage of the linebackers trying to cover wide receivers and run Marshawn Lynch. Everyone seems to forget that until Mikell was lost for the game 49ers were kicking field goals. I love the fact that the public is on SF gives me better odds. Bol to all.

Seahawks straight up. Kaepernick is a weak nukka. Prancing his skinny @ss legs around the field. He need to prance his skinny legged @ss back to the g@y area.

I look for Wilson to crap the bed this weekend. His last 4 games have been terrible. SF 's front seven tops in the NFL. If they stop the run, which expect will be the case, Seattle is not talented enough at receiver position to beat SF. That being said, lets look at all the other new QB's entering the playoffs: Dalton, Foles and Newton. All had their troubles when facing defenses that are now a bit more elite than in the regular season. If Wilson does not step up his game based on his play over the last weeks, he craps the bed as well on Sunday. Remember, they had N.O. down and beaten and couldn't close. SF will pose a much bigger challenge in all three phases of the game. In my humble opinion. Taking SF +3 1/2 all day long.

Great write up by degenerate (position by position analysis). A lot of good points that push me towards Seattle in it.
Couple things I'm taking into consideration:
As degenerate mentioned, Kap is more talented than Wilson, but Wilson is way smarter. Kap seems to force the ball a lot when pressured...narrowly avoided a pick 6 in 1st half last week (Mikell prob should have caught it). I like Wilson to not get caught up in the pressure/hype and force anything and make a big mistake...not so sure about Kap.
Pass rush - where has it been for SF lately? Is Aldon Smith still on this team? Seems like they have to send at least 6 guys to ever get any pressure.
I think Seattle's secondary is the best unit on the field at any time. I think SF LBs are great and all, but I think a secondary like the Hawks trot out is much more devastating to what an opposing offense is trying to do. These guys are amazing.
Finally back to Wilson, I think he provides more of a match up problem when scrambling for SF than Cam did/does...he's smaller/quicker, Cam runs people over, but you saw that wasn't happening vs the group of hard hitters on SF defense.
All this, plus they are at home where they have dominated SF the last couple times. Both of which I was all over Sea, but def not as confident in this spot.
Tough to lay 3.5 in a game that very well could be won by a fg, but I like Seattle to win here. I'll take my chances on them to win something like 21-17 or 24-20.

This has been a lopsided affair the last two trips for the 49ers. If you look at early this year it was 29-3 and the year before that it was 42-13. If Seattle would have kept their starters in; San Francisco would have probably not scored that last minute touchdown and the score would of been 42-6, MEANING in two games the Seattle starting defense has not allowed a single touchdown to San Francisco in CenturyLink Field. I know there is more on the line in this game but for some sick reason...CenturyLink Field erupts when the 49ers are in town. Even though San Francisco was able to win its home games versus Seattle...they were not blowouts or lopsided, it was to the wire. With Wilson's slow starts, he's not forcing bad throws and not giving up the ball. Kaep on the other hand is holding onto the ball too long versus Seattle. His lack of decision making and ability to read a defense is going to be his downfall...along with his arrogance. Both defenses will show up early but the decision making of Wilson will be the deciding factor and the boost the Seahawks will thrive off of. The line is wrong, it should be at -13.5 in favor of Seattle. Seattle thumps San Francisco on its way to MetLife Stadium.

Because if I'm keeping with my Peyton media hyped "swansong" theory, 49ers could actually beat the Broncos......
BUT......
The Superbowl would "technically" be a "road game" for the "small market" Seahawks (who suck on the road, BTW), in Peyton's little bro's house, in the East (where Peyton basically made his name with the Colts) and it would be after defeating the Big Bad Patriots who have lost to little bro in their last 2 Superbowl appearances.......
O.K. - so the Broncos make it to the Superbowl, what's the over/under on Eli/Archie/Cooper/Papa John/Buick appearances - including Eli's commercial ads? I'd put it at 60..........
49ers are the "sexy" Superbowl pick, but I think the Seahawks win outright, simply for the Peyton $$$$$$$$$$ sake......
Look, there's a reason the R.H.C.P.'s were suddenly "added" to the halftime show, when it was supposed to just be Bruno (who???) Mars and his long "legacy" of #1 hits.......
That reason?
$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
Broncos/Seahawks Superbowl
Broncos win in a blowout......
Good Luck All!!!!!!

My money is on teams that are healthy, peaking, not afraid to break a few bones, and have been to the "dance" before! Off course, it's always nice to get a few extras points. Make it New England & San Fran.
SAN FRANCISCO + 3.5
