Both teams had a can of whoop behind opened last week. Lot's of love for the Rams on this forum and probably rightfully so. Both teams have played a tough schedule so far especially the 9'ers. I still believe that the 49'ers are an elite team  I believe even if you go with the math angle the 49'ers don't lose 3 weeks in a row. I know if they don't that means the Rams have to. Why even bet on this game? Honestly, I'm still shocked at last weeks 49er team that got drilled by the colts at home. Now they fly to their First East coast Road game on a short week to play a team thats been on 2back to back road games and is now at home....very dangerous. Last year this Rams team BEAT SanFran in a tough physical game.. i see another style of matchup only with many players on SF side out or still hurting from being battered by seahawks and colts.

11-5 and to the superbowl last year, expectations were high on SF this year, I’m not sure this is the same team.

 

Losing key recvrs M. Manningham and M. Crabtree seems to have taken a big toll on SF off.  And now SF def is hurt also, R. Ventrone S, P. Willis LB and now A. Smith LB is out.

SF is 29^th in pts, 27^th in yds, near the bottom of the league in off. You could argue that SF has played 3 good teams in GB, SEA, and IND all who went 11-5 last yr.

 

Meanwhile STL is only 23rd in pts and 18th in yds. on off.

 

IND ran the ball well against SF and that seems to be a weakness, but unfortunately STL is mostly pass so far.
Meanwhile, DAL ran through STL normally good run D last week, so go figure.

 

SF needs to get the run gm going again. Gore had 41 carries in the gm they won vs GB. Since then 9 and 11 atts. No wonder he is mad at Harbaugh.

 

Kaepernick’s QB rating is 72 but only because of the GB gm. Past 2 gms he has 0 tds and 4 ints, and 2 lost fumbles.
Capadicks QB rating for the last 2 gms is a dismal 32. And Niner fans are tweeting for A. Smith to come back,… but doesn’t a QB need an open receiver? It may not be all Kaepernick’s fault.

This yr STL is all pass. (#2 in pass att) 145 pass att to 54 rush att, but most of the passes seem to be short check downs (only #8 in passing yds) putting them at #27 in yds/pass
S. Bradford QB rating is 88 (6 td, 2 ints, 297yd/gm)

 

STL has been down big at the half in 2 gms (3-24, 0-17), so maybe that’s why the stats are lopsided to pass att. They need to get started earlier. Only 18 total yds at the half vs DAL.

 

S. Bradford hadn’t been sacked and I thought the STL O line was good, … until DAL had 6 sacks.

 

STL seems to get a holding penalty on every punt return, but SF is 4th in the NFL for penalty yds (29/254yds). Fisher is complaining about the penalties and maybe his team will get some slack at home.

 

D. Richardson is back for STL and should provide some yds, … if they give it to him.
I think SF will run the ball also, letting Gore and Hunter carry the load.

 

Looking for run gms on both tms to get going, and probably see a lot of FG’s in the Edward Jones dome.

 

Interdiv. gms are usually close since the teams play so often.

Public perception is SF is much better but I’m not so sure.
