For instance, Arizona was 3-3 coming into the game, yes, but this was right after they played a good Niner team tough and even led in the 4th quarter at the Stick and then they would go on (after the Hawks loss) to have a 4 game winning streak after the hawks beat them solidly at home.

Now, if you're going to discount wins in Houston and Atlanta because of what happened after the game, never mind that Houston lost Cushing and Shaub soon after and Atlanta got back Roddy White for the Hawks game and nearly beat New Orleans a couple of weeks later, okay.

You're clearly cherry picking your stats.

But hey, if you want to play that game, it's your cash. People like me make money off of people like you. Not that SF couldn't cover this spread. I see it as a 4 point Hawks win, but that means it's a one turnover push/loss.

Good luck also, but you'd be better off with some good sense.

OK then.  Obviously a Seahawks homer...

Funny - all I did was illustrate why the 49ers were favored in this game.  Kind of sensitive aren't you?

Looking forward to future posts, newbie.

I am getting a little tired of hearing this "Christmas comes early" talk, and that the "better team" is the play. Since when is making a bet about betting on the better team? if the better team won every Sunday, Vegas would be out of business!!

Seattle might very well be a better team, but I am siding with Harbaugh and the 49ers at Candlestick. I know these teams hate each other, and I'm not expecting this to be a trap game for Seattle. I think they will give the 49ers all they can handle. I just don't think Aldon Smith and Ahmad Brooks are going to be fooled by that read option that had the Saints looking so silly on MNF. I also think the 49ers (with their full cast of wide receivers and a healthy Vernon Davis) can expose the missing corners in Browner and Thurmond. And I think the 49er offense will also get a big shot in the arm if Joe Staley and Iuapti suit up. Personally, I think those guys would play in a wheel chair if they could.

I am rollng with Vue and Rodney Dangerfield on this one and taking the 49ers to get a little payback & cement their wild card footing.

The first three lines of Sammy's post is some of the best knowledge or advice posted on this site. 100% true. This concept must be considered when throwing your hard earned money up. Fade yourself. SF -2.5 for me

Kapernicks lack of game savvy scares me. I believe that sf will lay everything on the line in this one, but im having a hard time pulling trigger because of him. Shermans the smartest and the best cb in the league, and i worry that kap might get baited by him. Sf is the only side to take here, they will be the more motivated team, they're at home, their defense has been lights out for the last two months. But he is the ultimate X factor. He's capable of silencing many doubters with a big game sunday, but i truly do question his ability to read defenses and against this secondary that could be big trouble. Someone give me a reason or reasons they think kapernick will play a solid game this sunday.

If you think all the Hawks had going for them last week was the read-option, well, wow...

As for Browner and Thurdmond, counting last season, the Seahawks are now 5-0 in games played with Maxwell and Lane playing in place of Thurmond and Browner.

You can roll whatever way you like, but try to find a good reason. I haven't heard one yet. Probably best you stay out of action when you don't really know the teams involved.

Sf is the only side to take here, they will be the more motivated team, they're at home, their defense has been lights out for the last two months. But he is the ultimate X factor. You;re right to be afraid, but I genuinely think Kaep will have a good game. The Niners won't lose because of him, at any rate.

I think the motivation factor is overblown. The Saints had every reason to win last week against the Hawks. The game was far more important to them than Seattle, who had a bigger division lead and reason to believe it could get the #1 seed even with a loss, and yet the talent and coaching on the field won out. People overthink these things. Most times the better team wins, and the better team this week is Seattle. Unless you think the Seahawks really have more than a 26 point homefield advantage when they play the Niners, which is what you'd be saying if you think the 29-3 beatdown was all because of home field. Look at it this way. The Niners could be three TDs better this Sunday than they were in Week 2 and still lose by 5.

Seriously curious about this. Who could possibly see this as a trap game for either team? Probably came into the season circling this one on a calender. If the Niners lose, they are in trouble so far as even making the playoffs and they will cede the division on their own turf. If the Hawks win, they win the division and all but wrap up HFA. The idea that either of these teams will be lacking motivation just doesn't make sense.

Hawks are on a short week, though, albeit coming off a bye. And they will have Cris Clemons and Bruce Irvin for the game, which they didn't have in Week 2, and Russell Okung for the whole game (presumably), after losing him early in the second quarter Week 2, after which Aldon Smith ate alive Paul McQuistan for two sacks and a billion hurries.

The Niners get back Manningham and Crabtree, but are probably without Iupati and Stalely may not be at full speed but will probably be good to go.

So there are some personnel differences than in Seattle, which I believe in general helps out the Niners more.

Should be a good one, with both teams wanting this badly, and I doubt the Hawks will be looking ahead to next week's big matchup with the 5-7 Giants.

Bro, you are totally misinterpreting what I said. I was quoting Rodney Dangerfield's post from before and specifically said it would NOT be a trap game. Why don't you do us all a favor and stick to the blogs on the Seahawks homepage. Here at covers, we look for unbiased opinions as we are all trying to profit on the outcome of the game.

I think the Seahawks will be making a trip to the Super Bowl this year too. But that doesn't mean they have to go 15-1 in the regular season. With last weeks win vs Nola, an easy road game vs the gmen, and two more home games against Zona & St Louis, the Hawks pretty much have the division and home field in the bag. This is far from a must-win and the 49ers are in a tight wild card race and have revenge on their mind.

So it's take the 49ers or no play for me. But I imagine you'll be teasing Seattle, Denver, and New England bc you sound as square as they come.

Good luck. I could see that tease working this week.

    People, People, PLEASE!!!!!

What do we learn time after time about tough divisional games???

    Balty/ Pittsburgh - - Chicago/Detriot - - Giants/Cowboys

The spread is ALWAYS under a FG (usually 1 point - with the nod to the home team), and the game (more often than not) comes down to the last play.....

Forget arguing over skewed stats, who's played who better, blah, blah, blah....... Just TEASE the game. Tease it with something else you really like - hell, tease it BOTH WAYS.......

Just trying to save everybody's hard earned $$$$$

    Good Luck All!!!!!

SEA might be number 1 team now, but 49ers is in need of this "W", SEA doesn't need another "W" as bad as 49ers, so SF will win and cover at least a FG. Hell with SEA and the short sh*t WILSON.....

As good as the seahawks are...  Their road appearance are weak.  vs the crap rams... struggled.  vs the crap falcons...  vs the crap Texans... they should have dominated those games from start to finish instead they kept the teams hanging in there.

Niners more rest.  Niners vengeful.  Niners in need of a win fighting for wildcard.  Niners at home.  Niners with more offensive weapons now available.

Quality bet is with the Niners -2.5 no guarantee just better value.

I know SF is at home and I know it's a revenge game (just like it was for the Saints on mnf -- we all know how that went!).. but if you're just betting quarterbacks.

Wilson vs. Kaepernick -- I don't see how you can feel good putting your money on Kaep. Wilson has 10x the poise and preparation. He treats each game like a championship game -- and the team overall has such confidence going into this, they will match any intensity SF brings (must win or not). I'm expecting a full-on battle and if it comes down to a close score I just don't see Wilson losing it.

Seattle ML. It doesnt matter whos hungrier or if the game is needed. If Krapernick doesnt perform and play on point the whole game they will lose. He must play perfect and I dont see him doing that. Too much pressure. The game isnt a must win for the hawks BUT that doesnt mean the defense is going to take a day off. Sherman has too much pride and he will play full force and even if its a close game the will still get a W and cover. JMO..
