detroit SUCKS and Wash is arguably one of the best teams in the NFC. and Wash is an iffy team at best. Wash +1. this game is purely a SUCKER's bet. to have Detroit favored against anyone is a joke. WEAK PLAY

Agreed. Detroit does suck. Stafford has never impressed me yet in the NFL.

This is the best line I could currently find offered for my selection and I think it's the one I'd feel most comfortable going with as well. I will not go beyond this even though I feel that they win by at least seven points.
Detroit -3(+110)
The Skins are one of the best teams in the NFC(?)... they did beat Dallas but who are the 1-5 Cowturds? The NFC is very weak in whole as a conference so pretenders pop up and down each weekend. They beat the Eagles with Vick getting injured in that game and also beat GB in a sloppy game at home. The NFC is so weak that the TB HC said his team is the best in the NFC. Gimmie a break... Wash or TB or anyone else that is not the NYGiants who are the only team in the NFC that are going anywhere.
Detroit is 5-1 ATS and as only a small -1 fav here I expect the SU winner.
The Skins are 0-3 in their L-3 dome games with losses to Detroit, Atlanta and the Rams in week two. They were favorites vs the Rams and Lions in those games.
As a Lions backer here, I'll just watch and enjoy as McNabb and company give away the game to the Lions.
This is a sucker game and the suckers are taking the Skins. The Lions will win by at least 7 points and I'll be back here after the game.

Let....me ....let me get this straight. U are putting ALOT of faith in a 1-5 Detroit team and proclaiming almost a blowout against a team that is TIED for 5th in their conference for the BEST record. OKIE DOKIE. I hope u do come back on here after the game and admit what a sucker u are. If I lose I will person myself...deal? as a dallas fan I naturally hate the Skins, but it's Mcnabb. against a really bad Detroit team. mind u I did mention that Wash is an IFFY team. but we'll see. Wash as a nasty knack of hanging in games this year. I'm a lil confused on the confidence u are exhibiting in the lowly lions as a favorite. Damn the stat that the dog wins approx 60% of the time in NFL games. sorry, I'm just caught up in NFL logic.

DET -2.5: (2units): i don't care if they're only a 1-5 team, as long as they're a 5-1 ATS covering machine, i'll put my money on them. Score: Redskins 18-Lions 24

I really like Detroit here. Home teams are 5-1 SU off the bye week. Detroit has played well and only has 1 win so far this season. They showed up for Washington last year and beat them SU with a worse team than this year. I think this one lines up for Lions -2.5!

I'm either gonna take Detroit -2.5 or stay away. I must take back what i said about this team a few weeks back and admit that they're much improved from last year. Maybe not in the standings but they're 5-1 ATS for a reason. I had Giants minus 10 vs. the Lions and couldn't believe how Lions threw the ball all over the field. I can see the same thing happening vs. the Skins. And yes- the Skins got 4 turnovers from the Bears and still barely won that game.
And Devin: dogs win 60% of the time in NFL? where did u get that crazy stat? because that is so far from true. maybe they have covered ATS close to that percentage so far this year, but they're not winning more than half of the time. i've personally studied the rate of dogs winning SU in the NFL and it usually is anywhere from 3 to 5 dogs a week.

I hate to say i told you so but they do have a good offense made even better this week with a more mobile QB in Stafford being back.

no big deal. hey- if i didnt keep an open mind to change my evaluation of teams from time to time throughout the year, then i would just end up as an old stubborn codger who never hits any bets. but im past that, and i believe the value of teams can change from one point early in the season to the end of the season. do I think Lions will make playoffs? no way. do I think they're a scary team to bet against in detroit? absolutely. am i ready to pull trigger against them like years before when they take the road? not necessarily.
Like Skins4Life said: Skins have a knack for ending a team's losing streak and he is so right cuzz the Skins have been costing me $ for years!
Detroit seems like the right pick here. Skins are better but not yet solid team.

This game have the same spread and scenario like the Boston vs Cleveland and Boston give -3.5. The best team vs the worst team and who win the game.

If Stafford starts, Haynesworth likely puts him on his back and likely out for the year. The Detroit Lions miserably win only 2 games ? (beating probably Buffalo) playing out the rest of the year again.
Washington 30, Lions 20.
