Winning the Herman match in round 3 makes me 1-1 on the week. I am going to take a shot with Lahiri over Palmer in this spot. Here are the reasons why:
Palmer just does not seem to be himself this season. The last three years he has missed 10 cuts in total. This season he has four already, while only making one cut so far. He also seemed to really hit it sideways on Saturday (36% of fairways hit).
Lahiri is hitting the ball quite well this week. His putter really let him down on Saturday. He hit 71% of the fairways on Saturday keeping the ball in play.
Rumor has it the wind is going to pick up from approximately 10 mph on Saturday to 25 mph gusts Sunday. Add the fact that Lahiri gets away from playing with Rickie tomorrow which is hopefully going to settle him down a little bit (especially with the putter). Rickie gets quite a following with the course crowd and perhaps this rattled Lahiri a bit. Give me the player who is hitting the ball straighter off the tee in the windier conditions.
Tail or fade best of luck with your plays tomorrow guys!
