REALLY STUPID format this week in Perth, Australia. this "gimmick" must have been designed by NHL Commissioner "Gary New York" Bettman

The ISPS HANDA World Super 6 format will combine 54 holes of traditional stroke play across the first three days with a knockout match play format for the fourth and final round.
A regular cut will fall after 36 holes before the field is then further reduced to the top 24 players following 54 holes of regulation play, with any ties for 24th place being decided by a play-off. Those remaining players will then earn their places in the six-hole shootout.
Any matches tied after the six holes will be decided in a hole-by-hole play-off. The winner will then progress to the next round of the match play or, in the case of the final match, be crowned champion of the ISPS HANDA World Super 6 Perth.
think it will be damn near impossible to handicap this mess. favorites this week are last years winner (with normal four round stroke play) Louis Oosthuizen @ 10-1, Alex Noren @ 12-1,Thorbjorn Olesen @ 20-1, Peter Uihlein @ 20-1 and English rookie Jordan L Smith @ 25-1
"of interest" long shot players for me are Aussie's San Brazel @ 60-1 and Andrew Dodt @ 60-1 along with Italian Edoardo Molinari @ 100-1 and the 17 year old Thai phenom Phachara Khongwatnai @ 50-1, who was a top 20 player last week in Malaysia

I find it interesting to note that just about ALL the top players from last week in Malaysia, Zanotti, Lipsky, Wiesberger, Alex Levy (who was 2nd here last year), Haotong Li and Danny Willett all DUCKED this one probably because of the WEIRD format

NO tourney match plays this week at either the Westgate OR William-Hill because of the goofy format. it's understandable. probably saves me money
chanced small "to win" bets on Alex Noren @ 12-1, Sam Brazel @ 60-1, Andrew Dodt @ 60-1 and Edoardo Molinari @ 100-1. the Thai kid's odds are a little "light" @ just 50-1

well THAT sucked. Noren, Dodt and Molinari all 36 hole CUTS while Sam Brazel tied 54th going into the 3rd round. looks like a complete "washout" this week
hopefully "more back to normal" next week in Johannesburg, South Africa

DAMN!!! my last chance to cash went down the drain when the Khongwatnai kid "squeeked into" the playoffs and THEN beat Sam Brazel 1 up to advance. the KID has got GAME!!!

well I'll be swizzled. the Khongwatnai kid made it to the final match BUT lost to Aussie local Brett Runford who is a Perth native. STILL pretty damn good for a 17 year old

The kid beat Jaidee and Aphibarnrat in an event at age 15
He is the real deal
the kid is on the entry list for next week in Johannesburg, South Africa along with South Africans Jaco Van Zyl, George Coetzee, Brandon Stone, Thomas Aiken and Dean Burmester who have all either WON or been close in recent tourneys. also favorite ChiCom Haotong Li along with Graeme Storm who WON the South African Open last month
