GREAT start "Young Gun" Dunne tied 1st with Scotsman Marc Warren after the 1st round [-6] BUT "Rahmbo" just one shot back @ [-5]

COLD weather in Madrid. "I went to play golf in Spain and ended up in Scotland"

forecast for Friday a chance of a thunderstorm and COLD esp early morning 40F warming to mid to high 50's by noon thru the afternoon BUT with light winds around 5 MPH. looks looks like advantage later tee times. the Euro Tour commentators Thursday said the players had a hard time getting any "feel" with their grip early with the low temperatures

btw. the greens were also "wicked slow" which seemed to throw some players off. a LOT of them with a case of "short putz"

Looks like the weather will favor the Northern Euro's.  Dunne should do well tomorrow.  Yup, Rhambo lurking in the background.  Like the start so far.

Paul Dunne just KILLING it after the 2nd round with [-7] Friday for tourney [-13]. "Young Gun" can shoot "wicked low" when he gets it going like at British Masters last fall. some "cats & dogs" tied 2nd [-10] three shots back Nacho Elvira (OWGR #236), Callum Shinkwin (OWGR #193) and Brett Rumford (OWGR #366). LONG time since both Elvira and Shinkwin been at the top of a leaderboard. Shinkwin still looking for his maiden Euro Tour win after completely BONING the finish at the Scotish Open last year. AND Jon Rahm "lurking" at [-9] and we all know what "Rahmbo" can do when HE gets HOT

LeRinkRat, all good points.  Its rare that a Euro goes wire to wire, but I'm hoping Dunne can hold on.  Still lots of golf to play.  We will see what moving day brings.

you can't get much tighter going into Sunday with "Young Gun" Dunne 3rd round [-4] for tourney [-17] and "Rahmbo" [-6] for [15] tied 3rd with some OWGR #645 Swedish guy.  "Nacho Cheese" Elvira in the middle 2nd with [-6] for [-16].

weather looks like 48F in the early morning warming to the low 60's by the time the leaders tee off. early winds will be from the south west @ 5 MPH increasing to 10-12 MPH by noon and into the afternoon

well probably NO surprise in the final round finish. Jon Rahm [-5] for [-20] and a two shot WIN over Paul Dunne [-1] for [-18]. watching "Young Gun" in his final last night on Golf Channel he just did NOT look sharp.

Nacho Elvira held on for 3rd with a [-1] for [-17] and his best finish in a LONG time one ahead of Tshwane Open winner George Coetzee with the round of the day [-9] for tourney [-16]

on to Rabat, the capital of Morocco next week for the Trophee Hassan II at the tight Royal Golf Dar Es Salam course

Nacho almost won this thing and then ends up 3rd
He was tied with Rahm for 1st and Nacho hit a great shot to 16 and had like a 8-9 foot bird attempt. Meanwhile Rahm hits tee shot on par 3 17th short and it hits steep bank and starts to roll in the water only to get saved by a big tuft of grass. Then Rahm hits a great pitch to 4-5 feet and makes a tough winding par save while nacho burns the lip on his birdie attempt on 16. So they remained tied with Rahm heading to 18 and nacho to 17.  Dunne was 2 back and out of it basically. 

Rest is history. Nacho hits tee shot on 17 in water and misses 3’ bogey putt for double and Rahm cruises home.

Ya watching the replay that was CRAZY. maybe Nacho will "heat up" and be competitive like he was last summer for awhile. he is a LOT like Nicky Colsaerts. wicked LONG off the tee BUT does KNOW where it's going
