Two tournament plays for me at Riviera this week for the Genesis Open
Hadwin +110 vs Lowry: This is more of a fade of Lowry than anything. He is struggling right now and just cannot putt well. Hadwin has some past success over this course and he is usually a solid putter and keeps the ball in the fairway (important to stay in the fairway this week). Lowry has been hitting the ball solidly but his putter is really struggling. Betting on a missed cut for Lowry...
Howell III -105 vs JB Holmes: Again fading Holmes rather than being positive on Howell III. JB just does not seem himself this year. Normally the past three years he makes approximately 80% of the cuts in tournaments played. This year he has played in five tournaments and has missed the cut already three times. Granted, it is a small sample size but he seems to be on the decline. Howell III has made 7 of 8 cuts this season and is coming off a T6 at the Farmers two weeks ago. Clearly one guy is playing the better than the other yet a slight dog.
This is arguably the best field I have seen for Riviera in a really long time. Looking forward to watching how Tiger does this week. I think he is fade material this week but paired with Perez at -160 I don't care for the price. Good luck if you decide to tail...
