Golf is a individual sport that's judged upon individual results. Baseketball is a team sport.
My point exactly. You can't compare the two no matter how you try to spin it.
No surprise Tiger sucked today. Because he had to hit his driver. He doesn't have a clue where the hell it is going to go. He played solid last week because he rarely hit driver. This week he has to and on a very easy course he struggled.
Tiger is clueless and it's more than practice time or an adjustment here or there.
Good luck on Saturday Tiger!! That's ok if you don't make the cut and don't qualify for the last 2 tournaments. Because you have had an above average year when compared to all the other stiffs on tour.

You have no answer for this argurment, it's acutally quite funny.
Kobe Bryant, Micheal Jordan, Lebron James, Peyton Manning, Nolan Ryan, and many more all time greats have bad performances. They have bad performances, They have bad performances. They have bad performances, Get the fucken point now? Let me drill this into your skill.......They have bad performances.
You make a circus and critizie Tiger left and right. Yet you seem to FORGET EVERYONE HAS BAD PERFORMANCES. EVERYONE HAS BAD PERFORMANCES. EVERYONE HAS BAD PERFORMANCES. EVERYONE HAS BAD PERFORMANCES. EVERYONE HAS BAD PERFORMANCES. EVERYONE HAS BAD PERFORMANCES.
So here I ask again and please don't beat around the bush. Explain explain explain Kobe's bad perofmances in the GAME'S BIGGEST GAME? Explain explain explain Kobe's bad perofmances in the GAME'S BIGGEST GAME? Explain explain explain Kobe's bad perofmances in the GAME'S BIGGEST GAME? Explain explain explain Kobe's bad perofmances in the GAME'S BIGGEST GAME?

I wonder if David Duval is sympathising with Tiger or enjoying his demise.......I couldn't stand the "iceman" when he was no.1 but he has proven to be a pretty nice guy so it is probably the former!

you guys are crazy. he will get it back. he will figure it out. don't forget how many serious injuries he has had also.takes time to regroup from this, and your swing changes a little to compensate. i don't think he will get total dominance again but certainly 2/3/4 more majors. just a guess and i bet against him yesterday. and if i were him i would have lotsa hoes around, especially when i got off the course. couple beers then a hummer. perfect!!!

I've had the same position about Woody. He'll win again but NEVER even be close to what he once was. And I never believed there was any justice in the world - until now. The world was this cocky mofo's oyster and it wasn't enough to have a billion $, beautiful wife and 2 gorgeous kids. Can't even beat the 61st ranked player in the world when the stage presents itself. These fools on the golf channel and the media continue to cover him like he's still what HE USED TO BE.
SuperInsight (I doubt it)- You've been wrong. Admit it.

WOW I feel like I have less intelligence after reading this non sense. Do any of you truely understand the game of golf. It is obvious that Superior and VegasVeteran (Obviously a 20 year old kid) have absolutely no clue. You have both made fools of yourselves to anyone who understands the sport. T12 in ANY PGA Tour event is very good. Actually better than very good. Top 5 in 2 majors. He is not dominating, (Thats the only thing you have been correct about) but rather than saying oh look how bad he is now it should be more like "Damn that guy dominated in the most widely played sport in the world." People didnt understand how remarkable what he was doing was. The bottom line is he has never been the best driver of the ball or iron player. Very good, but not the best. He was the best putter of all time bar none and the best mentally. (Only one close there is Jack) He had a killer instinct that was unbelievable.
So now you guys can really think about this side of it instead of acting like fools.

There is the problem right there, the difference in ball striking for the most part on tour is small all the guys hit it really good. His putting and especially yesterday his chipping was awful and he seems to have lost his mental edge. Those wil be alot harder to find again as opposed to if it was just a swing issue. I will be shocked if he doesnt win again this year but the years of multiple majors are gone IMO.

My 1st post in this thread was last August. It's still the exact same today.
He can't get off the tee like he used to. His putter is inconsistent.
Was anyone scared of Tiger today after his great round yesterday?? 5 yrs ago the field would've folded early because of the intimidation factor. Instead he is viewed as just another golfer who had a great round but isn't likely to repeat it.
Tiger still thinks he can return to the way he was. He NEVER will.

you are an idiot. the two times tiger changed his swing, it took him a good while to start playing consistent golf. the only reason it has taken a bit longer this time is because this time hes coupled it with problems away from the course, perhaps the only possible thing that could shake his confidence.
as soon as he wins ONE tournament, just one, he wont look back. he just needs to get the feel of a win again, then its all downhill for him. you would have to be an idiot or lying if your life depended on one golfer to win again in their PGA tour career and you didnt choose tiger. thats telling you something. he is still the best golfer in the world. hes just going through a mid life crisis if you will. he will recover, and you haters will be apologizing emphatically.

AU - 10 majors in a row and counting. He's not the best golfer in the world any longer. He's currently #7 and going down. Hasn't won a tournament in 18 months. He will never be what he once was. He used to win between 5 and 10 times a year, usually with multiple majors. Do you really believe he's capable of doing that again? Great round yesterday and backs it up with 74 today. When did he ever do that prior to 2009?

1) His dad died, his head has been a mess since 2) He changed coaches, and has a whole new swing Igotta wonder if his dad would've let this happen)
I hate the new swing, It's way too mechanical, way too constricting, and way too wrap-around crap. The moves he is making seem to be taking feel totally out of the game - just look at how bad his distance control has been. He needs to dump his swing coach and go without one, or go back to butch.
With this new swing, if he does win any more majors, it'll be the British that I'm betting on him, and only of the wind is blowing 20 mph.

Whats with all this fasination with how Tiger once was. Just because he was dominant in the past doesn't give him exclusive rights to be that dominant now or in the future. Every argument in here is based on how he ONCE was. Facts are facts, he doesn't play at that level now or maybe the competition is that much better, who knows? Get over it, he is not #1 anymore and basing your argument on the past only water downs that very presumption that he will be that same player again. No one has a crystal ball, period. Fact is the shots he used to make dont happen at the same pace they used to. This cannot be argued. He knows it, i know it and his peers know it. It even appears ( and im just observing) that he really is not enjoying the game. The look on his face after every missed put, or the drive that goes array its like hes saying its only happening to me. Bottom line he can talk the talk all he wants but hes not walking the walk. And that cannot be disputed.

The Tiger backers will see progress and see him getting close again.
Realists will see an inconsistent very good golfer who is a shell of his former self. He's no longer the best. Not even great. Just very good with flashes of greatness that can't be sustained.
Age won't help. This new swing definitely won't help. Nothing can. He's finished as a great golfer.

you guys realize that Tiger missed 5 or maybe even more 3 foot putts this weekend. So you are saying that he will never figure out how to make a 3 foot putt?
Because that is the only reason he lost the masters.
What the fuck are you tiger bashers talking about in this thread? I mean really? really?

Oh he showed flashes of brilliance no doubt. Friday and on the front 9 today.
But he can't sustain it. It's always something. Either the driver, putter, or approach shots. He talks progress like he's a 19 yr old rookie trying to figure it out.
Major by major go by without a win. He gets older and several young guns get better. McIlroy collapses yet there are a handful of young guns right there to take the jacket. This kind of thing won't change.
