Gatlin's times have been better this year. Bolt's cocky "been there done that" attitude makes its seem like he isn't as hungry enough this year. I am betting Gatlin.

EDM choked and blew lead to HAM. That should have motivated them to win against WPG at home but they looked pathetic again. I don't see how they get it done in OTT. I am going with my head over my heart and taking OTT.

Reminded me of Griffin vs Bonnar slugfest.

I missed big profits last week by being on the sidelines when DWTI jumped to $385 (like I had predicted), but at least I was able to dump my HED.TO during that spike. Today I bought back in to DWTI for $231. I am hoping that oil volatility continues (weekly $32 to $28 swings) so I can make a quick 10-20% and get out. |

I sold the rest of my DWTI for $278 for a small profit. I'd kick myself next week if it hits $380 but I still have my HED.TO. I will stick to mostly cash for now. I dodged a few bullets by selling off my AAPL, SBUX, and UA in the first week of Jan.

I hope it does sink. At the beginning of Jan I went to 65% cash. I think flush-out is imminent. I have only been in the game for about 10 years and I have only been fully managing my own investments for 3 years (first 7yrs I was a sucker with Investors Group). After 2008/09 I was so dejected that I just played it ultra-safe and use my extra investment money (other than RRSP/RESPs) to make additional mortgage payments . Of course I would have been way better off buying/holding some of the cheap stocks I had (LVS and F for just over $2 ). I am sure everyone has a similar story. I am looking forward to some bargains after the market bleeds out. |

Last Wed I originally bought in for $310 and doubled my position at Fri morning at $230 (so my average was $260). Today I sold half my shares for $324 (20% gain). I don't want to get greedy but I think it could creep over $400 if oil slips into the $28s. I have a bigger position in HED.TO which is also an anti-oil ETF but it doesn't fluctuate as much. Unfortunately my average price was $23.10 so I am about even on that one...for now. |

It seems like oil spiked 25% off the lows on speculation that there may be "talks" to "possibly" discuss production cut backs. If it were as simple as a talk, it would have happened 1yr ago. Oil will dip back into 20s. DWTI is currently $244 and it was $365 when oil was $30 (and it peaked at $465 when oil dipped to $27). This ETF is volatile but a good opportunity for a big up swing. |

I am new to DK and I won a couple hundred this week. I read that withdraws over $600 are subject to US taxes. I read some older forums where Canadians had to go through major run around to get back the 30% that was taxed. Does anyone (particularly Canadians) have any recent experiences in withdrawing larger amounts from DK. Did they with hold taxes and were you able to recoup it? |

Huge thanks to wallstreetcappers to making me second guess myself and do more research to conclude that we are not at bottom yet. I didn't like how SU was up strong in pre-market and fell as the market opened. I sold all $30K of ETFs first thing this morning when my holdings were up another 1%...and I made $900 profit in those 2 days. If I hadn't sold I would have given back $670 of my profits. Now I can sit and wait for a better entry point. |

Yesterday I bought into energy ETFs XEG.TO and CLO.TO for a total of $30K. With oil as beat up as it is, I just can't see it going much lower (or even staying this low for long). Of course there are lots of dynamics at play, but at the end of the day oil is still a non-renewable resource. I don't see how it would be possible for oil remain below $50 for more than a year. If the skies fall and oil slips and holds at $30 for 10 years+ I'll have more to worry about than $30K. I don't see Canada (Alberta specifically) becoming akin to a 3rd world country...and I am willing to bet on it. |

I will soon be trying to make my playoff drafts but I don't know how 2nd/3rd round match ups are decided. It used to be easy when the highest advancing seed plays the lowest advancing seed in each conference. With the new divisions and wild cards, does anyone know how later rounds are decided. Thanks |

I have been having some success betting goal scorers. When I think a game will be high scoring, I take more than one top goal scorer from the same team (perry/getzlaf....pavelski/marleau). I have also chased this system. Tonight I see CLB/Phi being a high scoring game so I'll take: Girioux (pays 3.2 to 1), Simmonds (3.15 to 1), Hartnell (3.65 to 1). If one of them scores I make a small profit. If 2 of them score, I more than double my money.

Thankfully I decided to go with Blackberry (BB.TO to avoid uncertainty with Cdn dollar). I bought yesterday for 10.96. Up to 11.82 already. |

I have been wanting to get in on Twitter for a while and I have been waiting for a pull back but its just not happening. At this point I am wondering if there is more upside with blackberry. Opinions? |
