created a topic Try one more time..... in NHL Betting Ran some numbers from last years playoffs and came up with the following based on a $100 bet per play for the entire 2017-2018 Stanley Cup Playoffs 2017-2018 Home Favorite Win, 36 Wins, 35 Loses, 51%, Net -$1,299 Home Dog Win, 4 Wins, 9 Loses, 31%, Net -$436 Away Favorite Win, 9, Wins, 4 Loses, 69%, Net +$231 Away Dog Win, 35 Wins, 36 Loses, 49%, Net +$1,173 Average Score, 5.9 Goals Games Over Total, 35, Win 48%, Net -$485 Games Under Total, 38, Win 52%, Net, -$1 I thought the number of Away Dog Wins seemed high as well as the average score so I ran the previous two years and came up with the following: 2016-2017 Home Favorite Win, 36 Wins, 31 Loses, 54%, Net -$730 Home Dog Win, 11 Wins, 9 Loses, 55%, Net -$312 Away Favorite Win, 9 Wins, 11 Loses, 45%, Net +$464 Away Dog Win, 31 Wins, 36 Loses, 46%, Net +$432 Average Score, 5.2 Goals Games Over Total, 32, Win 45%, Net -$698 Games Under Total, 39, Win 55%, Net, -$35 2015-2016 Home Favorite Win, 36 Wins, 33 Loses, 52%, Net -$965 Home Dog Win, 10 Wins, 12 Loses, 45%, Net -$266 Away Favorite Win, 12 Wins, 10 Loses, 55%, Net -$46 Away Dog Win, 33 Wins, 36 Loses, 48%, Net +$657 Average Score, 5.3 Goals Games Over Total, 35, Win 51%, Net -$235 Games Under Total, 34, Win 49%, Net, -$419 A $100 bettor over 3 seasons would have netted + $2,262 playing the away dogs. Keep in mind the sample size here is low since there are only about 85 games per playoff season, but the trend is favors the away dog.
