Back after a real long break and many nights spent with my dad in the hospital after that bad car accident. For those who were aware of the accident, my dad was discharged from the hospital on Friday after 46 days and numerous surgeries. Thank you once again for all your thoughts and prayers.
My baseball season went real well and though I am better at hockey I decided I would give football a try as well.
Overall NFL record 0-0
Today's Card:
Cincy +9
Dallas - 7.5
Carolina -4
Arizona -5
Still up in the air, but I am also leaning Denver +3
As always BOL everyone and let's make it a great day and night

Just a quick update for anyone interested.
My father woke up and actually spoke a few words. Hearing him tell me that he missed me and loved me was a very very touching moment for me. He is extremely confused, scared and in so much pain. The morphin just isn't helping, but at least he is still here and fighting. He had a 7 hour surgery to reconstruct his left arm. His arm is now mostly metal. (Reminds me of Will Smith in I Robot). His next surgery is scheduled for Wed for a skin graph on his arm.
It's been a long week and I know there is a long road ahead, but I wanted to say thank you to everyone who has and will continue to keep him in their thoughts. I really have seen so many miracles at the hospital, not only with my father, but with so many of the people brought into that hospital on a daily basis. It really opens your eyes to so many things

Not trying to start anything, but don't you think he is doing fine on his own if he has made almost 50K?

Hello everyone,
I hope you are not getting tired of these updates, but I just got home from the hospital. My dad was scheduled to undergo a 5 hr surgery on his left arm to reconstruct it and put all kinds of plates and screws in it. It got cancelled due to the time and stress it would put on his body. It is now scheduled for tomorrow.
But I do have some good news. When I arrived at the hospital this morning I told him that I was there..and he started moving his arm and his leg and even opened his right eye. As the day went on he became a little more responsive until he point where he would wake up and shake his head yes or no to questions the doctors were asking. It really was a miracle and shows that all these prayers and well wishes must be helping and someone must be on his side.
I really do thank you all for your thoughts and well wishes and will continue to update.

what part of PA. you in...? im in philadelphia near south philly, you in this area or out in western PA (pitt)??
I went to college in western pa and lived in pittsburgh for about a year after. I am now just north of lancaster and east of harrisburg (where I grew up). So my father is currently at Hershey Medical Center. I must say of all places to be, I am glad he is there. At least he is in good hands there.... |

Just an update. I just got home from the hospital. The Doctors told me to go home and get some rest. So I thought I would update.
First, for those of you who asked my father is 62 years young.
The good news is that they got his blood levels stabalized. He is still in the ICU in critical condition, but at least now he is stabalized. He was scheduled for surgery on his arm, but was cancelled because of the time and to let him rest some more. He is hooked up to a machine helping him to breathe. Hopefully if the night goes well he will have surgery on his left arm tomorrow as it is in bad shape. The doctors have told us that he will require around 10 or 11 surgeries on his arm alone and that he will have a long road ahead of him. But the main thing today is that they finally have him stabalized. It is a small step in the right direction, but at this time any positive step is a big one to our family. i just look forward to the day when he opens his eyes...
Once again thank you all for your thoughts and prayers and well wishes. That simple gesture means so much and though I do not know any of you personally the fact that you are concerned enough to think about him means everything. My mother and I thank you all from bottom of our hearts.
