gutsy play and would be a classic contrarian one. . . they just dont start strong for whatever reason. and then every so often they'll go off (B10 season finale v UM eg). it would be a time to go reverse tho, as first three tourney games 1h have been weak. . . GL

and forum seems split, maybe a slight lean to the B10 reg season champs, fwiw.

so many things to comment on, from the coaching (pearl nvr enough credit, izzo sometimes too much) to the styles (elite scoring and tempo from auburn but underrated defense, intense man-up defense from sparty with their ability to push the ball and score in transition) to the personnel.

will the ole miss game help sparty "acclimate" to a SEC-style defense? problem is, auburn has even more length and better shotmaking than the rebs. . . 

will izzo get too cute with personnel? starting coen carr v olemiss was risky, obvi carr is amazing but still raw - his size/skillset matched up but spartans lost some of the big-big screen/pass ability they like to run. happy they will go back to their regular starters (i presume).  hope booker gets in to match some of auburns length/athleticism, and plays focused not lackadaisical.

will sparty make enough 3s? can jase create enough in flow of offense, rather than bail out the offense with 7s left on the shotclock each possession? will kohler, cooper, zapala have enough quickness to handle the auburn bigs? can sparty get enough transition buckets to offset auburns elite scoring? can they be the tougher team (whatever that means, sometimes can be too cliche) and keep their identity as defense and rebounding kings?

vegas says maybe. . . does -5.5 scream, take auburn? i dont think so, line is about right

i just think this msu team is special - all year ive waited for them to underachieve, and they haven't. loss to wisky in B10 tourney was the proverbial "good loss".  and good for the kids getting money, but im old school and don't want four 1s in bc of NIL/portal. would be nice to have a homegrown team of overachieving non-consensus-5star recruits in the FF. . .

maybe hogs get to halftime within a few scores and settle down and figure out how to defend without fouling. not the sec

fascinating matchup. will the altitude and 4 B10 tourney games finally catchup with wiskys' legs? or is that an overrated factor, these are young healthy athletes.

wisky always has a big or two that can play outside in, no diff this year but perhaps lower talent/class than in years past. also, is tonje enough?  will they match the 3pt barrage from BYU?

something about these mormons this year that makes me think they finally have a breakthrough. despite the hype and covers forum heavy on them, ill bite. good health to wisky backers.

having said that, this purdue team has been slightly off all year. underperformed in B10 play. almost like a hangover from last years Edey-tourney run. . .
