replied to Why is Iowa favored over Maryland ? in College Basketball I am on Iowa. Their home court is pretty strong. I put more stock in their conference home performances. Not to ignore those non conf losses but they are young and those things will happen early in a year, so will pulling a big win over ISU, just inconsistent...Maryland just feels a little too hot for what they are, seems like time they come back down to reality a little (they are a good team but not best in b10) and Iowa may be undervalued coming off a horrible NW blowout. replied to Should I buy out of Indiana? in College Basketball Big ten home dogs are flat out dirty. Talent discrepancy will be big but something is off with IU. They should win but I wouldn't lay this many with such an inconsistent team on the road. Penn state or nothing for me. I took Nebraska tonight for b10 action. Osu similar to IU in that they're talented, just missing something. Won't be taking either on the road unless getting a fair number of points. It could win and I wish you luck, but I think most would agree that teasing an 80 point total provides little to no value. I like to look at percentages of the total. By teasing 80 you're only getting 7.5% higher number to sneak under. I don't mean to troll at all and honestly do wish you the best of luck, I just think that's a poor use of 6 points. He'll spread it out but it'll be mostly bball control run heavy system.. He was beloved in MN and most were sad to see him go. It's bittersweet to see him latch on elsewhere as his health must be much better but he left us with this worthless POS Claeys. MN would take Kill back as HC in a heartbeat over him. replied to Minnesota Gophers 10 players suspended in College Football Just saw the total on this game. The best play is the under 61.5 IMO. This isn't a PAC 12 game. Gophers will play defense and will also struggle to score. 61.5 is a ton for this team. I realize WSU averages 40 but if you exclude teams who play zero d it's closer to 28 (That average includes Boise, UCLA, Stanford, Colorado, and Washington. replied to Minnesota Gophers 10 players suspended in College Football I agree scal, the line is probably going up and I would pull it if I was running a book but this gophers team rarely gets blown out the last few years. This year alone, fourth quarter leads at penn state, at Wisconsin, vs Iowa, tied at Nebraska late fourth. They just play a tough nosed gritty style that lends to closer games. I wouldn't sign up to lay over a td with wazzou but I'm guessing plenty will. As for the psychological angle, scal is the king of that so I will listen to anything you've got to say on that topic. Unfortunately they're both in the secondary which could get exploited by wazzou offense. The good thing is that this is gophers deepest unit. I think 7.5 is fair line, probably will go up though. The goal of the thread is to make money and to me it'll turn into a record contest. It's just that it's gonna be all chalk with the nature of baseball betting. I believe Holmey said before that this process only worked in college basketball in his experience. I don't mean to be a downer bc this thread has been awesome but I really question the effectiveness when vast majority of plays will be chalk and there's no way bubba will or should track someone's +/- units with all the juice. I hope everyone continues to make money with this thread, I really do. I just have serious reservations about tailing baseball under this format. I should've written up a play for Illinois last night when I took them -8.5. I also bought more this morning on the ML which is never ideal at -420 (now higher) but the talent gap in this one will be ridiculous. Illini are 2-0 vs this team, on road vs full gophers team and at home they ran away in second half which was first game the three players were suspended. Glad to see so many hopped on Rutgers Saturday but hopefully no one actually watched that mn/Rutgers game but believe me, that wasn't an aberration for what this depleted team is. Even Pitino has been quoted of saying that it would be a shock if the gophers won a tourney game. What kind of coach says that?! IMO one who is trying to set the bar so low that blow out losses to powder puff B1G teams won't get him fired. Moral of the story, gophers are missing 5 starting caliber players since beginning of the season from a team that was already very talent deficient. Alright I'm talking myself into this, $$$$ play #2 for me fading my gophers again -10 is the current line which I suppose I'll have to take for record keeping on this thread although I took last night.
