Love detroit -1 over bowling green but curious why the line is so low. Anyone have any thoughts on this game?

This is one of the worst teams Maryland has had in quite some time. Take Alabama! |

Thinking of going against the terps tonight, any thoughts?

Why are all the so called experts going against them tonight? Giving up -2 at home against a weaker opponent should be a gimmee!

I love how everyone points out that ben did not play in the first game against the ravens this yr. However, it amazes me that they also ignore the fact that ed reed also did not play or an injured ray rice who barely played. Two playmakers are missing on one team compared to just one on the other, yet the team missing only one of their main guys is the one making excuses? Take the points and watch the ravens win an emotional game in honor of ed reed!

Congrats to everyone who took the O's. For those that took the ml for the yanks, i suggest u stop gambling as those odds were just ridiculous! I dont care how good a team may be, either take the dog or just lay off the game.

I think u have it the other way around for your headline. You would have to have alot of guts taking the yankees who granted are the better team at -385. Yankees should win but the way the O's have been playing under Buck nothing would suprise me!

Gonzalez should have his closing job back asap. Looks like the O's wont have the number 1 pick in the draft after all. I would hate to be a contender playing the orioles down the stretch!

URISS2302- What confuses u? Do u have A.D.D. and just read part of what is written? If the owner of a team is not spending and is pocketing the money, then MLB should step in and require the team to get a new owner or relocate the team. However, a salary cap should still be required as salaries are getting out of hand. Why is football and basketball so competitive? I'm not going to give u the answer to that question, hopefully that college education of yours will help u figure it out. If teams have a limit on how much they are able to spend on players and on their team, competitive balance will occur right away. Then again maybe thats not what some teams and people are looking for!

The funny thing is the yankees would never go for a salary cap and why should they? If everything was on a even playing field they would shit their pants.

URISS2302- The luxury tax is a freaking joke. Make a salary cap of lets say $80 million. Any owner of a team who is blatantly pocketing the money and not spending, then that team will have to find a new owner or relocate. Dont feed me that B.S. that the Royals got 30 million in luxury tax. What is that 30 million going to get them? Jack shit. If a player is deciding between the yankees and royals, who are u going to choose? The team that has a better chance of winning! Your right the owners are pocketing the luxury tax but then again what are u going to use it on. It will get u a few decent players but not enough to compete. If those decent players have good seasons they end up being traded away for prospects any way. The point is that 30 million the royals are getting will not make them competitive. You clearly missed the point before that a salary cap is what is best for baseball. If a team is not competitive to begin with, a player is still going to chose the high payroll team over the extra they would get from the crappy royals. For people to say teams can compete they choose not too, your either a fan of the yankess or an idiot! Why have teams bust their butt through the draft and player development and then be unable to afford keeping them when they are due for free agency! They are competitive for a few yrs but then what? Time to rebuild for another 5 or 6 yrs since the high market clubs bought the best talent. They say yankees are good for business because they sell out games. Imagine if there were even more good ball clubs to sell out games besides only a select few! |

Congrats to the yankees and their fans but lets be realistic if there was a salary cap there would be much more competitive balance. Now for the idiots who are going to say look at what the rays, rockies, a's, and twins have accomplished over the last few yrs, lets be serious! Rays had how many consecutive losing seasons and # 1 draft picks before they could even contend. Why should teams like the twins and a's have to bust their ass to be competitive and then lose their best players to high payroll teams and have to rebuild all over again. If there were a salary cap do u think a-rod and texiera would have both fit under the cap along with jeter and CC? Players go to teams for the money and no other reason why. Cant blame the players but if there was a salary cap, I guarantee u the best players would not all be signing with the same team. Until the salary cap occurs, get used to the red sox, yankees, dodgers, and mets each yr outspending teams for the best players. People wonder why football is the most popular sport?

Colts (-13.5) over the Rams. Last week it was the Falcons -3.5 over the Bears. Hoping the line drops to -3 for the ravens vs broncos game next week. Putting alot on the ravens!

Cant imagine Fla St losing at home against Georgia Tech! Stranger things have happened but playing at home at night with a fired up crowd in conference play should get the cover.

Whodeysb09- I like the Irish upsetting USC especially with the week off to rest. Although most of my bets have been against the Irish. As far as the bengals getting +9 against the ravens, I wouldnt be suprised if cinci covered, but i guarantee u they will not win that game. The ravens secondary may be questionable but they will pressure palmer all day. Cinci against a pissed off ravens team is a dangerous thought.

JtotheF- I understand what your saying claiming the titans would have been tougher competition for the steelers than the ravens. I actually agree with than considering the ravens were with a rookie qb and a defense that was playing with nearly their entire secondary out as well as their top running back. But to say that one call directly impacted the ravens game is ridiculous. What if the pass was incomplete or intercepted then what? One play in football regardless of a bad call does not dictate the outcome of the game. Because the play happened towards the end of the game is why people are talking about it. Flacco made a good play and got the first down. If the titans D was so good and the ravens offens was as bad as people always claim, the ravens would have never have gotten in field goal range after that first down. I agree that it was a bad call but in no way did it determine the winner of the game.

JtotheF- If your trying to say the refs helped the ravens beat the titans then obviously it must be ok for the titans to commit three turnovers in the red zone? The ravens deserved to win that game and the defense of the ravens simply willed them to victory. One play by the ref doesnt cause the outcome of the game but anytime you blow 3 chances in the endzone the odds are not good that you are going to win. Payback was a bitch for the titans as you could just as easily claim that when the titans beat the ravens in baltimore it was due to a bogus roughing the passer call that gave the titans an automatic first down. If not for that call it would have been the ravens ball.
