Easy win with the Wizards tonight! And was on the right side of the "fix" or luck or whatever you wanna call it on the Jazz! Just was a little to ambitious with the ML
Last night: 2-1 Still no line for Game 4 but I'm still liking the Wiz at a possibly similar line to Game 3. I can see this playing out like the Was-Atl series in the first round where Boston will pull it out in 6 or even 7. Play for tonight: Toronto +3 Gonna wait for a final call on Lowry but regardless if he plays or not, I'm rolling with the Raps tonight. I got some money to burn from a good win from the wizards and jazz last night and I strongly believe that this Raptors team bounces back strong tonight with or without their starting pg. Joseph may come off the bench and add some ruggedness against Kyrie but Derozan will be the real game-changer here. Before you sound me off after his 5 pt stinker in Game 2, this is a similar situation in their last series against the Bucks where he only got 8 pts in Game 3. I really do believe that Toronto gets a grip on their game and steals one over the Cavs tonight. |

Both leans were wrong and sadly I played the Rockets +6..
Recap for tonight: Game 3: Wizards -5 and adding Utah +13 (small bet) Utah because as good as the Warriors are, the Jazz has shown some glimpses of what they can do to keep up with the dubs in game 1. They may have been blownout for most of the last game but they showed promise at the end of the 2nd closing out with a 5-0 run and the start of the 3rd where they went on some mini-run too (8-2, if I'm not mistaken). They showed that they know how to move the ball around and to use their strength to their advantage. Put some spare change on this huge ML prospect too. A little ambitious, but you never know in the NBA.

Good win last night everybody! Too close for comfort but got the W nonetheless.
Playing this early before the line may rise: Game 3: Wizards -5 Just like the Hawks in the previous series, they blew leads and chances to take at least 1 game away from home and the home crowd pushes them past it once again. I already mentioned the Wizards being a good home team and they will definitely show it in this game. Leans for tomorrow: Raptors +8 I think Toronto will play better in this game and hope that Irving gets into a slump once again. Rockets +6 Houston seems to have the Spurs figured out and have all the weapons in their offense to exploit them. They also know they can't take this series too long to get that much needed rest ahead of a possible Warriors matchup if they progress. Let me know your thoughts on these games above! |

Last post: 1-1
I may opt to use this thread to continuously get insights for the games in this series so feel free to leave some of your thoughts here too. I chose to make a thread about this cause I think this series would be the most predictable as compared to the others so I may add some games here for the second round. Game 2: Boston -6 People seem to be counting out the Celtics cause they've won 5 straight and are due for a regression. Well, I think it won't happen in this game. They've won and covered the past 5 games because they have shown to have played with a sense of urgency and a chip on their shoulder. For all those who counted them out after dropping the first 2 at home against the Bulls. This game is crucial to beat the Wizards as they're a known good home team and I fully expect Boston to take control of this series 2-0. If somehow the Wiz keep it close, the Celtics will cover with the fts at the end of the game.

Oddsmakers don't make mistakes and if they're calling it 10 San Antonio is probably the play. I still like Memphis so it'll either be a no play for me or i'll put them in a parlay buying a couple points. Thanks for the insight, Stu. Exactly what worries me. Gonna leave this game out of my plays for tonight unless I can assure myself of a Rockets cover early enough.

Last post: 1-1-0 I'm still hoping this line goes down by a point. As much as the thunder will be looking to put up a fight, I can see game 1 happening all over again. Westbrook will once again try to do too much for his team's own good and will end up taking ill advised shots late in the game allowing the rockets to pull away at the end. Houston has been pretty lucky getting offensive output from their role players while their main firepower has been misfiring in OKC but tonight may be the night they come back and take the series convincingly. Series-enders have been 2-0 ATS in this year's playoff. It's a small sample size but I wont say no to such a trend as the top teams are proving that they deserve those higher seeds. Uta +3 As much as it's in LA, I don't understand why the line shifted by 7-8 points. Rivers' return don't add seem to add that much extra value to the clips. Utah knows if they take this, they have their best chance of closing the series in the next game rather than going to a game 7 with the warriors already waiting in the next round. The Jazz have shown that they have all the tools from the young ones to the vets to take this clips team down and end their "golden" era quick. Lean: Mem +10 Unsure of this play at all. Spurs have dominated at home but Memphis taught me a lesson last game and that's that they can hang with this Spurs team. After winning 2 straight games, I'm sure that has to play a part into their confidence coming into this game and getting blown out by DD would surely take all that confidence away in an instant. If the grizzlies truly want to make a run in the playoffs, they will at least cover this game or hopefully win SU for that ML.

Atl -3
We all saw that Atlanta can keep up with these Wizards and coming home for game 3, after being beaten in 2 well-contested games, I think the home crowd gets these Hawks over the hump and get the W. The line is a simple line to cover especially with the nature of these games ending with fts for it to be decided. Sas -4 The Spurs usually get better the longer the series goes and this may just be the case in game 4. Pops have seen what the grizzlies can do with their other offensive options carrying the team and will be able to adjust accordingly. Spurs simply have more depth and ability to adapt to these games after experiencing a loss in the series. Public is pounding them so proceed with caution on this bet. |

These are still early leans.. Might update later with locked picks and more leans
Bos -10 I can see the celtics dominating much of this game like how they dominated the suns before that cover from booker's outburst. Boston knows that they need to win this game to stay at the top of the east ahead of Cleveland tonight. I can see them doing that, the only cautious thing about this game is the backdoor cover at the end. Dal +5 The Mavs are in a good position to cover and win here if Gasol and Green don't play. Division rivals usually play each other hard and despite the Mavs being slightly out of the playoff picture already, their players will still be playing hard especially yogi and curry, and Dirk, who might be playing his last season (I hope not) Sas -1 This a dangerous play but I like the Spurs here to get their revenge after that previous game getting hammered in OKC. Thunder also came from 2 miracle wins by Westbrook and are back home which may lead to somewhat of a let up of their intensity. Gonna need more angles on this... Other leans: Den (advantage in bigs + must-win), Nyk and Uta (hopefully a good lines come out) Let me know your thoughts

Mia -3
The heat are finally in the playoff picture and would want to shut down detroit's hope for the season for good. I'm also playing on the first-game-back-home trend that has been going pretty wel lately. PLUS Detroit has been a horrible b2b team this season and reggie jackson may be out again tonight. HUGE opportunity for Miami to close the playoff race tonight. Phx +8 Another trend I'm banking on is how teams are now closing out road trips. With 2-3 starters out for the hawks tonight, I can see the Suns matching up well and have a big chance of covering or even winning SU. Other leans: Ind, Mil, Bkn (double revenge for this) Let me know your thoughts on these picks |

Why Min though? Shouldn't the Pacers be the team that needs this win more? They've also got the guys to match up with the weapons of the Twolves.
With you on Mil

I find tonight's games pretty tricky but here it goes:
Tor -7 I think the raptors will finally get over the hump in beating the bulls. They've been winless against this team for almost 2 years now. I can see the raps pull off an impressive win here in fromt of their fans at home against a bulls team that hasn't been very consistent as of late and is a terrible road team. Det -6 The Nets are without Lin again and that hasn't worked out very well for them. Meanwhile, detroit will most definitely try to avoid an upset here and give themselves a comfortable win knowing that Miami will also be playing against a lowly Phoenix team tonight. They'll need to be the pacesetter if they want to make it into the playoffs and not the team that ALMOST made it to the playoffs. Highly motivational game for detroit so I'm taking the team who needs to win it more. Gsw -6 (small/no play) This line is very tricky for me. I think it's best to wait until before tip-off to really see the lineup for tonight's game but I see no reason for resting the gsw starters knowing they have 2 days of rest after this game. They'll also want a win to keep their new found momentum going and stay at the top of the league. Mil +5 (small/no play) Possible letdown for the blazers here if Antetokounmpo will be playing. The bucks can definitely match up with the blazers in terms of their length and defense. I'll be taking the points in a possible close game or upset. Can anyone care to share the ATS stats of teams playing their first game back after a 4+ game road trip? If I remember correctly, it's not that good that's why I'm leaning towards the warriors and the bucks tonight. Any other games that may be easier that I'd rather be playing? |

With Boston dropping that game, now it's looking increasingly likely that Cleveland will rest their stars for the game against the Lakers and get to see what their supporting players can do against a bottom team. They might just get a close win at around 7-8 points.
Locking in: Lakers +12

Just saw the line open for the Cle-Lal game. You think Cavs will still rest their stars? I don't see a reason why they should rest against the Clips and instead play against the Lakers. They've got no respect for the league if that's what they're going to do.
Leaning Lal +12 Locked in: Philly +7 Portland +6 Detroit -9 Mavs -5

No time for the usual write up
Dal -5 Mavs need to win this game after that slip up against the sixers Phi +5 Boston is barely anything without Thomas who is still out for this game Det -10 Pistons off 2 bad home losses and have a great chance to get back their momentum by dominating a lowly, young suns team that even still might be eligible to join march madness instead. Por +7 This pick highly depends on the availability of Whiteside. With no Waiters already, I'm willing to take the points on this portland team coming of a wire-to-wire domination against the hawks last night.

Should we go for the public tonight?
Por +3 Lillard and McCollum will definitely bring the fight to schroder and whoever the hawks throw at them. The bigs of the blazers will also most probably come out energetic, and it's up to millsap and howard to match that. If they don't, which they usually do forget to do so, it could be the blazers taking a good lead early just like the grizzlies the other night. Take the 1H and sprinkle some little money on the ML. Now for the public picks.. Sas -4 Memphis is recently having a good run of game. In a possible first round matchup, I can see the spurs eager to dominate this game with LA and Kawhi taking it to the grizzlies' defense. Kawhi was absent in their previous matchup, so this the first time they face each other and the Klaw will definitely make his presence felt. Hou -3 Short line since Houston is playing b2b, but I don't think we all have a reason to be fazed. The rockets get nene back for this matchup and that will be a good matchup for faried on the opposite end. Jokic is also a challenge for capela. With gallinari and chandler still out, Denver's scoring will rely heavily on jokic, harris and murray which all have capable defenders to guard them throughout. The key performance for the rockets would be on lou and gordon to get their aim right tonight which is more likely to happen than barton scoring 30 again. Leave me your views on these games or other better games too down below

Det -4
The pistons had a rough home game against the jazz and van gundy admitted that jackson and drummond looked flat out tired in the second half. With another day break, I think they get back to their groove against a slumping raptors team. Min +5 Interesting matchup between towns and whiteside, but I think the wolves will have the speed and skill to handle dragic and waiters with their own rubio and wiggins duo. May not win SU but most definitely will be taking the points in a possibly tight game. Orl +3 Can't believe I'm trusting the magic again, but it's against the lowly suns. Who also blew it against the kings. This is a safe play if knight and barbosa are going to be out for tonight's game. Payton and fournier can most definitely handle Ullis and Booker, so I'd give Vucevic and Biyombo the upper hand plus the points in this game. Additional thoughts??? |
