Thanks...I missed that about Minnesota. |

Oakland, TB and Cleveland should all have plenty of motivation for today too, of course. |

St Louis and Minnesota still have the most motivation to win, right? Any other thoughts on the playoff teams' motivation today? For example, Atlanta might not care about winning or losing the rest of the regular season.

What do you mean by, "play for the split on the 2nd one," exactly?

Only after the game started did I hear how bad it was for the team. Before the game I thought it was a player or two. I didn't like hearing about vomiting during the game with the player still taking his next appearance at the plate. Gee, that's great.
On one hand, way to tough it out; on the other hand, I think that I'd rather have someone at the plate who isn't worried about vomiting on home plate.

Their flu cost me yesterday, too.

The Red Sox seem to have the flu. Does this make anyone lean towards the Tigers today?
Two Septembers ago Kansas City had the best home record in baseball. A ridiculous home record, actually. One weekend it seems that key players were hit with the chicken pox and they lost 4 straight at home. How bad is the Boston Flu?

Thanks! Yes, the B2B did factor into this play for me as well. I think that I forgot to mention that, but that's why they used Grubauer. Grubauer still got the job done and got the win, which didn't surprise me.
I've been learning a lot the last month from all posts. I'm glad I found this forum. |

Cool. COL has 3.

I also forgot to mention the altitude in Colorado. I did consider that as well when deciding whether or not to make the play.

COL TT Over 2.5 +150 (@ 5dimes) 1 unit This possible play surprised me when I ran my query, but here's what I see in the data I've collected, used and back-tested: 1) When on the road, WSH opponents scored more than 2.5 goals 67% of the time in the last 60 days. I usually look for >= 63%. 2) COL has scored more than 2.5 goals 54% of the time when at home in the last 60 days. I usually look for >= 40% when the visitors have been allowing more than 2.5 goals >= 63% of the time. 3) COL home GFA is 2.69 in the last 60 days. I normally look for 2.7 when combined with #1 and #2 above, but I'm willing to call 2.69 "close enough". When I look at the last 30 days, WSH has allowed more than 2.5 goals when traveling in 5 of 6 games. That's over 83%. The one team that didn't is NYR, a team that has struggled to win at home lately. Taking COL for anything positive is a bit risky, but WSH is likely to start Grubauer, and he hasn't started since Mar 11 according to Rotoworld. Obviously this is not a super high-percentage play, but combine all of the above with a +150 line and I'm willing to risk 1 unit. GL to all! |

My first thought was to stay away from it, then I started reconsidering it. Thanks, Habs. I will stay away from picking a winner in this one as well.

PIT has been tough at home all season, but I'm liking CHI ML tonight. I think that PIT will have too many regulars missing. I also like CHI TT > 2.5 for the same reason.
Does anyone have a different perspective? |

I find both https://www.playoffstatus.com/nhl/nhl.html and https://www.sportsclubstats.com/NHL.html useful. I have to give credit to hradekbr for sharing the sportsclub site with us, though.
If anyone has another one, let us know!

I like more data. https://www.sportsclubstats.com/NHL.html is very impressive.

An earlier post of mine asked if anyone knew of a better "playoff picture" site than https://www.espn.com/nhl/playoffs/matchups, and the suggestions I received weren't what I wanted. The best I could find up until yesterday was playoffstatus.com, but this looks fabulous.
Thanks, hradekbr! |
