Futures To Win Outright:- To Reach Semi Final:- Pre-tournament Analysis:- Not going quite as big for the futures and won't have huge write ups for this tournament, I find the Euros harder to predict than the World Cup. I think the winner will be out of the three (England, Germany & Portugal) I've edged towards England I like the ruthless side of Southgate not calling up flair players like Maddison & Grealish, they haven't been fit and had poor seasons along with not being all that good for the national side, Maguire is a miss but the core spine of the team is intact, Stones-Rice-Bellingham-Kane, I think Guehi, Trippier, Gallagher & Gordon are good solid international players who will do well in the starting 11, the group is tougher than people think Slovenia & Serbia can play having quality finishers can hurt any opposition, Sesko, Vlahovic, Hojlund are class forwards with supporting players too, Denmark are solid too with plenty of tournament experience. I still see England topping the group and with that they won't face a group winner until the Semi-Final stage which is a big plus. Germany +120 to reach last four is decent value Nagelsmann has them set up well a very clever coach be it he hasn't been in the job long, I feel they will have the strongest defence but are quite lacking in the forward lane Sane has back issues and I feel in a tight Semi or Final that lack of fire power may hurt them. I've gone with the Belgians to reach the last four, I'm a big fan of Domenico Tedesco, like Nagelsmann a brilliant innovative young coach. He has Belgium playing some good stuff and with +333 that is worth a play, I like the two sitters Mangala & Onana very strong midfielders to have which allow's De Bruyne the license to kill, Debast is a good young defender recently moved to Sporting Lisbon and they have stacks of quality fowards in Doku, Trossard, Openda, Bakayoko & De Ketelaere, Vermeeren is a quality operator too. Well thats it keeping it short & sweet, I look forward to hearing from you guys further through the tournament, ciao. |

Futures (Settled) To Win Outright:- = +2.50u FINAL WORLD CUP 2022 RECORD:- Post Final Analysis:- Referee was class got all calls right never put a foot wrong, Argentina were the better team for most of the final lack of changes from Scaloni harmed them but his decision to start Di Maria proved correct all game France couldn't handle him just as I thought France's midfield was non existent Argentina's was superior. The difference in coaches was evident Deschamp's nearly won it with a masterclass just like the Netherland's game straight out of Van Gaal's handbook he throws on two strikers early Argentina couldn't handle the physicality what a lead to drop again like against the Netherlands this was Scaloni's fault for not changing the shape and providing more protection, Argentina were hanging on in ET what a save by Martinez one of the reason I backed Argentina to win it all before the start of the tournament was because of him a true giant between the sticks both physically & mentally, I just knew Argentina would win on Pens they have far better technical players and a keeper specialist, Deschamps subbed off most of his technically gifted players I was just praying they made it to penalties, Messi made it 3-2 and I have no idea what Montiel was doing at the end very reckless for lack of control with his arms luckily he made up for it with his winning penalty. De Paul was a real warrior today he will feel it tomorrow, so happy for Messi & his family and friends well deserved the true GOAT been a fan since he was 16 years old what he has given to this sport no words can give justice, thoroughly enjoyed this tournament all aspects the winnings are not the important part unforgettable special moments are, I wish everyone a Merry Christmas & Happy New Year see you again in 4 years oh wait I mean 3 and a half years ;) special thanks to all the Coverians who popped by in this thread keep doing what your doing guys Covers is great because of you posters.

Pre Final Analysis:- Won't be any changes for both teams except Acuna coming back in for Tagliafico depends how serious the virus and knocks affecting the French players are, Alvarez will give Varane a torrid time Theo Hernandez came out to the media and hinted he was confidence in handling Messi so you all know what that means watch his battle with Saka bless the poor fella, Mbappe is the obvious threat Molina is a strong RB Simeone doesn't sign you if your not made of the tough stuff but RB has protection De Paul will double up and put in a shift, Molina and Montiel aren't slow either and both in there mid twenties so stamina shouldn't be a factor and with 5 subs a ready made quality replacement at RB in Montiel is handy to freshen it up still it is Mbappe but one has to always see an edge. Not fully convinced by Kounde at RB either I think he has a mistake in him and with this Benzema talk can't have a good effect within the French camp the current holder of the Balon d'Or will always have a case to return and take some part will be interesting to see I think he has zero chance knowing Deschamps but that lingering issue can't have a positive effect in preparations for France. No plays for me in the final as I already have 3 units riding on Argentina future remember to enjoy and gamble safe, regarding the 3rd place playoff all I can say is don't get buried shall I say it again? 'Nothing is a lock in sport' regardless of past trends etc on a personal note would love Morocco to win a medal one of the best achievements in football if they manage to do it. |

12/10 Argentina v France:- Pre Final Analysis:- Paredes experienced reliable defensive midfielder back playing in Serie A always liked him at Roma didn't quit work out in Paris maybe a point to prove? Rodrigo De Paul well what can I say about this engine guess describing him as an engine says it all really, practically Messi's bodyguard does all of the dirty work a strong fit versatile midfielder look up my pre tournament analysis on him hit the nail on the head with him becoming so important for this team, Mac Allister, De Paul, Fernandez, Paredes should be packed in the middle for Sunday will condense the space for France and make it a difficult day not so sure Tchouameni & Rabiot have enough to handle that for 120 minutes, Griezmann has been doing well deeper within the framework of the team but let's not kid ourselves he's an attacking player and this is Argentina not Morocco France are lacking bodies in that midfield space danger signs, Argentina have Di Maria, Palacios, Rodriguez to add depth in case of injuries or fresh legs these are quality players do not underestimate fatigue going into a 7th game. Clean bill of health for Argentina except Papu Gomez but they have more than enough to cover that loss, some rumblings going on the French have been hit by a virus, Coman, Varane, Konate key CBs should recover in time and take part but take that information as you want, slight knocks for Tchouameni & Theo Hernandez I've heard little niggles, viruses, fatigue all come into play. Now I expect Argentina to win even in 90 minutes but won't be surprised it drags on to ET, but quality should prevail barring an absolute howler from Scaloni in his tactical decisions which I doubt, Morocco & England outplayed France at times that should be a worry but this is France Argentina need to stay patience play there game and holes will appear guarantee this France team gives you chances fact. Futures (Settled) To Reach Final:- To Reach Final:- = +6.33u WC 2022 REC:- Post Match Analysis:- After the first half goals it took the sting out of Croatia's attacking armoury, their coach also lost some composure making frantic early substitutions without any sense, just subbing defenders for forwards was lazy the side lost it's balance and Argentina backline had an easy night, job well done by Lionel Scaloni and his men I had faith in him at the start a clever underrated coach who was toughen up by his brief hard time in England for West Ham but he's shown that Copa America win wasn't by fluke, I was just wary of his lack of experience this is a World Cup after all. I always thought Argentina's squad had a nice balance I likened it to a hybrid version of Brazil's & England's with talented players on paper but a good strong inner depth and core just look at the Netherlands match Argentina gave it as good as they got that is the difference between them & Brazil they got past that tough Netherlands side whereas Brazil folded in a similar tight game against Croatia, these fine margins get found out at the world stage.

Bee Thank you for the compliment, without the bias of holding a Argentina future ticket and applying previous experiences & football knowledge it looks a tough task casing point the price change -120 for them to win. Reasoning is Croatia will pack the midfield Modric, Brozovic, Kovacic, Pasalic will be very difficult for Argentina to manage that essence of control, Brazil struggled to contain them Dalic is very clever and experienced in the battle of wits he has the upper hand over Scaloni, but guess who has that winning mentality? Never underestimate the power of winning a major international trophy. Few suspensions for Argentina, Acuna is a big miss Tagliafico isn't the same player will be interesting to see if he plays Lisandro Martinez instead which I think he does, will be a huge tactical game Croatia have the edge with confidence high from beating the pre tournament favourites, no injuries or suspensions, previous WC experience and a very smart coach. Argentina will have to ride out the waves stay in the game keep disciplined and good tactical decisions by Scaloni if they want to win this, of course with Messi none of what I just said could matter a GOAT match winner at your helm does that and Croatia lack that 'game changer' to be a real champion. Have a good one |

Futures (Settled) Runner Up:- 12/10 England v France:- = -1.50u WC 2022 REC:- Post Match Analysis:- Analysis was pretty much spot on Hernandez literally couldn't handle Saka all game same with Kounde the other side with Foden, France never had anyone to sub on barring Coman if England equalised the game was theirs for the taking France got lucky but respect they shown the touch of class Griezmann's cross was a joy to witness from a footballing point of view fair play they took there chances. Well done to Morocco 10 men and both first choice CBs injured history is made Portugal were awful my post match analysis after the Switzerland game pointed to the fact that their GK looked fragile completely irresponsible from Fernando Santos to have him as No1 instead of the experienced Rui Patricio if you think I'm being harsh take a look at the final seconds of the Ghana Portugal match. Argentina were clearly the better team its just weird to criticize them for conceding when they were just two individual moments they looked in control for most of the match, I guess was completely reckless from Pezzella to foul like that and Scaloni staying 532 for most of the game maybe could've gone for the third but as I've repeatedly said this is a rollercoaster planning preparation goes out the window nothing can replicate that World Cup pressure. The will and drive from Croatia to make it 1-1 was admirable so much respect for Modric and co I mean what a coach Zlatko Dalic is I had Croatia to win the Euro 2016 they lost to Portugal parking the bus I had no doubt they would've won that then after they made it within minutes to a penalty shootout in the World Cup final, now there in another WC semi props to them. What an enjoyable QF it has been I have to say one the best knockouts I've ever witnessed.

England v France:- Analysis:- England as a team look solid as a whole Henderson coming in gives them that touch of class, balance and experience needed to craft a well balanced game needed to win knockout ties of this magnitude, Theo Hernandez is dangerous posing a threat on that left side but was he planning to be first choice? Playing well at AC Milan but defensively can lack that awareness, defensively France like England the backline has question marks Varane rushing back for this World Cup looks a bit shaky Lloris has a mistake in him too, now the managers one a proven champion the other quite similar in there craftmanship both Deschamps & Southgate don't miss a trick will the hurt of losing a Euro final on penalties give that extra edge of determination be the difference? Can't wait exciting match up could be a Classique both evenly matched & similar teams with respected astute coaches packed with individual stars in a well functioning team. The midfield department is very interesting aspect Bellingham & Tchouameni both lack experience in the international stage which one will sink or swim? Rabiot or Henderson both high class operators Greizmann needs to be managed well by Declan Rice but there's no one better for that job than the West Ham man, I think the difference here is England's strength in depth with more options on the bench, Mount, Phillips & Grealish, Foden having the ability to play in the hole greater squad depth here if it goes to extra time. As always have fun guys World Cup is about money management having some skin in the game and most importantly enjoying the occasion anything can happen on the world stage, Croatia, Netherlands, Morocco are all established footballing federations nothing is a lock in the World Cup so many variables exist and potentially new ones can be created, the media scrutiny is not like any other play safe play smart.

Bee Honestly everyone's anxious about there World Cup pick that's always the case no winner of this tournament ever looks perfect from start to finish. They've made it into the quarters with some luck they can reach the final, I think everyone thinks Brazil will win it but +333? No thanks where's the fun in that even Argentina +500/+600 is ok but with it being Leo's final farewell there's an element of romance about Argentina going all the way, I said at the start Brazil,Argentina,England are the best equipped sides to win all three are in the last 8. In terms of quality Brazil on paper should win it, in terms of squad depth look no further than the 3 lions but Argentina have a bit of both and that true grit only the young Scaloni is a worry and the two forwards who pulled out Nicolas Gonzalez & Joaquin Correa leaves them limited in attacking depth but who knows Argentina have the best fans at this World Cup speaking from experience its a rollercoaster so many ups and downs just stay in the game and enjoy the ride. |
