And so on. The money issue is not something I'm concerned about, I'm more interested and curious about the idea of getting 50,000 internet user to come together for a common cause. Many of you have given me great advice to make this work, and the major majority keep bringing up charity as a vital part to make this project succeed. Therefor I'm making it a part of the project...I'll donate 500,000$ to a charity if we get to the 1,000,000$ I think this will make it a easier "sell". What are your thoughts about this? I will of course do the crawl in one go (not splitt it up over many days) I'll finish when I finish...might take me 24 hours or 40 hours....so whatever time frame a marathon organizer has set will not have any effect. If they won't let me crawl for more than ex.7 hours, then I'll crawl the same route on a different date wearing one of those goprocams just to document it. About the money: Honestly, I have not really given it this much thought. I have had more focus on the project itself...is it possible and how to do it. So giving away maybe 50% to charity is something I would consider. Doing stuff for charity is great...but I wouldn't put crawling a marathon as a charity fundraiser. created a topic This is one crazy bet. Crawling the NY Marathon for 1,000,000$ in Website Promotions First and foremost. What I'm about to write is no scam, it's 100% real. I'm looking for a good discussion and your views about this topic. Known for taking almost any bet, I once was asked what It would take to get me off gambling. "1,000,000$!!", I replied. Then I was hit with the question: "What would you do for 1,000,000$?" I wasn't really thinking straight, so I just bursted out "For 1,000,000$ I would crawl the New York Marathon." Stupid as it may seem, my buddy thought about this...and then asked my about starting a fundraiser to try and get the 1,000,000$ I said I'm up for it. If it was possible to raise the 1million, I would definitely crawl the marathon. So what do you think? Is this possible? Is it possible to get 50,000 internet users to donate 20$ each? This is no joke, the website an gofundme account is up and running. I have set 2 guinness world records before (not crawling), but I'm damn motivated to make this work.
