NBA: 3-3-1 YTD, Last Night: Atlanta (-6) , Orlando (-4) , OKC (-4.5)
For the second time this week, the two worst teams in the NBA will square off, this time in Charlotte. These teams are both very young with some talented pieces in place, but they're about as far from contending for anything other than ping pong balls as you can get. Washington stomped Charlotte earlier this week at home, but then proceeded to lay an egg last night in Houston. Although Charlotte hasn't broken the 90 point marker in almost two weeks, I'm going to take the home team getting points. Also, while these teams hardly play defense, their offenses are equally as inept. I'll make a play on the under, as well. Charlotte (+2), Under 185 |

17 turnovers through 3 quarters for Orlando is not a recipe for success, and Atlanta's road woes seem to be much greater than I originally thought. Looks like I'm going to need OKC to bail me out tonight...

NBA: 2-2 YTD, Last Night: No Plays
Atlanta is coming over one of the more disappointing losses of the season at San Antonio, while Detroit is coming off possibly their best game of the season against Miami, even though they didn't end up pulling it out. I need more than one game to believe that Detroit has solved it's woeful offense, and while Atlanta has developed a disturbing trend of playing mediocre basketball away from Phillips Arena, I'm still going to go with the more talented squad. Atlanta (-6) As a Celtics fan, I was about as shocked as anyone that they came back from down 27 last night to beat Orlando on the road. For Orlando the story is simple - shoot better than 40%, you're 12-1; shoot worse than 40%, you're 0-5. Knowing that, this game against New Orleans couldn't be coming at a better time. The Hornets played some respectable games in their past four, but facts are facts - New Orleans has lost 15 of their last 16, and they simply don't score many points. I expect Orlando to come back with vengeance tonight. Orlando (-4) I believe Oklahoma City is the best all around team in the NBA. That said, this is probably going to be a beast of a contest tonight. OKC is beginning a three game road stretch where they'll follow this game with games at the Clippers and at the Mavericks - could be the classic spot for looking ahead at bigger games. Steph Curry is shooting the ball lights out at the moment, which should help keep this game close, but I don't think that's going to be enough to overcome the talent that OKC puts out on the floor. Oklahoma City (-4.5) ...also teased these three games to Atl (-2), Orl (pick), OKC (-.5) |

NBA: 2-2 YTD, Last Night: New York (-3.5), LAC (+4)
I don't particularly like either of these matchups, so I'll pass on the night. If I absolutely needed to make a play, I'd lean toward the Clippers taking care of business tonight against the Grizz and the Magic getting the job done against the C's. Some sort of tease, maybe get the Magic down to -6 and the Clips to a pick'em. Sticking to the collegiate ranks tonight. Good luck to all. |

Barring a setback, it looks like all systems go for Paul tonight.

NBA: 2-0 ATS, Last Night: Orlando (+3)
The Knicks are coming off probably their best all around performance of the season last night against the lowly Bobcats, mainly because Carmelo Anthony realized he can't be the same Carmelo that played in Denver for this team to have any success. While I expect him to score more than the 1 point he registered last night, I do think he understands that he needs to move the ball more. While they haven't showed consistency this season, I expect NYK to take advantage of a young Cleveland team that is 0-4 in the second half of back to back's this season, and also isn't very strong at home. NYK by close to 10. New York (-3.5) The Lakers may have gotten a bit of a rest at just the right time, seeing as they were playing some of their worst basketball in recent memory, dropping three straight, with only one of those being remotely competitive. Although Chris Paul hasn't played since the previous meeting of these two teams, it appears he will be available in some fashion for tonight's game, whether he's 100% or not. The fact that the two teams are a combined 18-5 while playing in Los Angeles doesn't make this game much clearer, but if you're telling me I can get the younger, flashier team with the fresher legs getting points, I'm all over it. I think LAC wins this one outright. LA Clippers (+4) |

NBA: 1-0 ATS, Last Night: Hawks (-1)
Orlando is coming off of an historically bad effort against an old Celtics bunch last night, so that alone should ensure the Magic come out with a chip on their shoulder. They've been solid in the second half of back to back's this season, going 4-2; the two losses were a complete head-scratcher @ Detroit, and the third leg of three straight at home vs. San Antonio. While Indiana is 5-0 at home this season, the five wins have come against mediocre competition. They don't shoot the ball very well, and while they lead the league in rebounding, they haven't faced the best center in the league yet, either. All those factors lead to an Orlando victory, straight up. Orlando +3

What's there not to love about Mike Dunleavy chucking triples all over the gym? Alarming the way Atlanta dogged it through majority of the 4th, though.

The Bucks 4 home victories have been against a mediocre (but improving) Minnesota, an awful Washington, a solid San Antonio, and an awful Detriot team. If wins over a struggling Knicks team at MSG and a Heat squad minus Wade are enough to change people's opinions of Milwaukee, I have no problem with that. I'm banking on the more talented team top to bottom to be able to change the ATS trend. Good luck to all.

If the Bucks hadn't had that victory last night against Miami, this line would be closer to 4.5 or 5. While the Hawks have struggled on the road this season, this would seem to be a perfect scenario for them to take advantage of. Milwaukee is poor in the second half of back to back's this season, and while Bogut on the inside will be an advantage for the Bucks, I look for Atlanta to win by 7 or 8.
Hawks -1
