2010 CFB Record: 12-6
Hey everyone, back for another year of CFB action. As you may remember I only play sparingly when I think I found something. I had a pretty solid season last year with my "Biggest Bets in the History of My Life" so we'll see how it goes in 2011. As always best of luck to everyone. Oregon -3 A lot of people are expecting a close game. I'm not one of them. I think Oregon played too conservative against Auburn last year, basically running dive plays into the teeth of the Auburn defense for much of the game. The bottom line is Oregon's speed on offense can match any SEC defense. Expect to see much more diverse playcalling from Chip Kelly tonight. Mr. Lee will do the rest. We're already up 7-0 thanks to at least one pick six from Jarrett Lee. The Ducks roll by double digits in this one to start the year off Perfect! |

Biggest Bets in the History of My Life: 11-5
Vanderbilt -2 The more I look at this game, the more I think Richmond gets blown out. First, I know Vandy hasn't always had great showings in the Tournament but I believe this team is built to make a run. I love all the scoring options they have and Jenkins is a flat-out stud. Last week I pushed with Miss State +6 against Vandy and to tell you the truth, the Bulldogs played a great game. Vandy just played a little better. I've seen a lot of the A-10 and other than Xavier, I think the conference is trash. Vanderbilt is my sleeper team in this Tournament because of their scorers and style of play. I don't see the Spiders sticking with them today. One other thing to keep in mind: Vandy is one of the better second half teams in the country, so even if this game is tight at halftime, I look for the Commodores to pull away in the final 20 minutes and win by double digits. Good Luck Everyone |

Biggest Bets in the History of My Life 10-5
Wisconsin-Milwaukee +10 I believe the Panthers are the better team here. I think this line is set too high because Northwestern plays in the Big 10 and gave Ohio State fits two times. However, the way Northwestern plays isn't suitable to blowing teams out. I believe Milwaukee has a good shot at winning this game outright but even if they get beat, I can't see it being by double-digits. I will gladly take the points here in what should be a tight, defensive minded game. Good Luck Everyone |

Biggest Bets in the History of My Life: 10-5
I lost yesterday with Cal. The team just couldn't hit a shot. There's nothing you can do when a team is that ice cold from the field. You just take the loss and move on. I was hoping to hit that one so I could really unload on this game tonight but it will just have to be a regular big play for me: Mississippi State +6 I absolutely love this play. I like taking teams that routinely win come conference tournament time. It tells me the coaches know how to prepare for these situations. Mississippi State is one of those teams. They are always ready and dangerous come this time of year. The Bulldogs played much better basketball down the stretch and get a Vandy team whose leading scorer John Jenkins is at best hobbled with a foot injury. He didn't play against LSU and that will be an even bigger deal tonight against a much better team. I'm putting money down on the Mississippi State ML as well but I'm very confident they cover the six points tonight. I don't want to sway anyone but I think Mississippi State routes Vandy tonight. That's just my opinion. Good Luck Everyone |

I'm 2-0 in my big bets this year in college hoops. I was 8-4 in CFB, so my total here on Covers in "Biggest Bets of My Life" is now a solid 10-4. I have another big one going today:
Cal +4 These are the two hottest teams in the Pac 10 right now. While USC is getting all the love, Cal hasn't lost a game in over a month. These two teams met twice during the regular season with the two games decided by a total of five points. They are very evenly matched and given the fact that USC has much more pressure on them heading into this game (Currently in Joe Lunardi's Last 4 Out) I will take the points here with a hot Cal squad playing with nothing to lose. I have a hunch Cal wins this game outright and makes a run in this tournament. Good Luck Everyone |

I'm 1-0 on my huge college basketball plays this season. I have another one going tonight:
San Francisco +14 I think this line is a joke. The Dons beat Gonzaga once this year and lost by 17 on the road. However, the big loss is a little deceiving because the game was close until San Fran went ice cold in the final 10 minutes of the game. I know the Zags are playing much better of late but I still think they overrated, especially by the oddsmakers. I will gladly take 14 points in a tournament game with a very good San Fran team that I think matches up well with Gonzaga. I see a tight contest here. Good Luck Everyone |

Whew
My "The Biggest Bet in the History of My Life" plays are now 8-4 on Covers. I may have one or two more before March Madness if the right situation comes up. Good luck to you all. |

I have future bets on the White Sox and Rockies to get to the World Series this year. Neither is a favorite but I like both rosters a lot and I think they have an outside shot. |

I pushed with Santa Clara +6 against St Mary's on my first big play of the year. That layup at the gun would have been nice but I was kind of lucky to even be in that position in the first place, so I can't complain. Let's try this again:
Kansas State -14 This is my largest regular season college basketball wager in two years. Everything sets up perfectly for a Wildcats blowout today in Manhattan. Kansas State got new life after beating Kansas, while OU lost a heartbreaker at home against Nebraska when a final shot was just inches short from being a game-tying 3-pointer. Two teams on opposite ends of the emotional spectrum today. I like KSU to ride the momentum from the Kansas victory and win this game by 30+. Good Luck Everyone |

Santa Clara +6
If you look closely, St. Mary's hasn't been playing that great over the last month. They got killed at Vandy and have been involved in tight conference games since that defeat, including getting hammered by Portland on the road. I think the Gaels get caught tonight. Santa Clara lost its most recent game but before that the Broncs were playing their best ball of the season. I think they win outright tonight but I'll take the six points just to be safe. Good Luck |
