Los Angeles Sparks -6

Sparks have not fared well against the Atlanta Dream the past 2 years posting an ugly 1-4 record. The Dream are tough at but It is hard for me to believe this version of the Dream is better without Angel Mccughtry.  It does seem she was a distraction at times for her teammates but in the WNBA she has star talent and has the ability to take over games at times which matters in crunch time against good teams.  Without her the Sparks are the better overall team by a wide margin and coming off a bad loss against Indiana Fever.  While I don't love the number I will take my chances laying the points.

New York Liberty +1.5 (Early line)

I can see Phoenix making shots and beating New York by 8 to 15 points as the Liberty struggle mightily to score.  However, Phoenix has been one of the worse defensive teams in the NBA for years even after drafting Griner.  I am not convinced yet that there defense is as good as the numbers say they are at this point.  Also, Diana Taurasi suspended for this game has been a shell of herself to start the season not sure if just bad games or age catching up to her.  Even though she has not played well what can not be denied is she still has tremendous play making ability, toughness, and that will be missed without a primary scorer against a New York Liberty team that is one of the better defensive teams in the league and with them I am not convinced there defense is as bad as the numbers say they are.  I think for Mercury to win Griner needs to have a monster game which is possible but I just don't see her dominating Tina Charles. The Liberty in this game have the better overall team and if they are serious about winning this year this is the type of game they must win.

Courtney Vandersloot is not playing.  However, I must ride it out as they still have a chance to cover.  Vandersloot missing in action is big though.

Chicago Sky +7.5

I took the Chicago Sky last night at +7.5 thinking Courtney Vandersloot was playing today, as her teammate overseas Kayla Mcbride was back with the Silver Stars.  Courtney Vandersloot is a difference maker for the Sky and the line has moved down which hopefully means she is playing.  Hard to tell in WNBA who is in or out.  Nevertheless, value to me lies with the Sky in this game.
