I know I haven't been posting. But Kobe's retirement may bring unique opportunities to us, bettors. This thread is geared towards capping the remaining 66 games of the Lakers and the teams they will be up against. Here’s to helping each other make some more dough. With analyses and insights from each other, this thread can (hopefully) make our NBA wagers winners. After 20 years of playing in the NBA, Kobe Bryant is finally hanging his laces. We all know the accomplishments and accolades that he has garnered throughout his career. Even Magic considers him the closest thing to the G.O.A.T, Michael Jordan. IMO he is the most famous NBA player that is going to retire after MJ. And because of this, certain individuals will make a lot of money. Even his letter to the fans given last Sunday at Staples is cashing in on e-bay. The opened one is currently at $650 and the sealed one at $1500. The owners will enjoy the spike in attendance when the Lakers visit. Basketball shows will preview the best of the best of Kobe. It's a win-win for everybody!
IMO, Washington won't bring their game to the Q. KING JAMES-9

YTD 3_1 WIZARDS-9 Orlando has been on the road since Nov. 4 where they played a total of 7 games. In those 7 games only 2 were played at home (Nov 7 and 14). Orlando's 6 game in 9 day stretch started on Nov. 9 in Brooklyn and will end in Nov 17 in Detroit. This is the second to the last road game after that huge home win against the Bucks last night. They now head to Washington with back to back wins. I think Orlando will have a hang over and will be lackadaisical in this game and result to a 17-20pt win by Washington. |

True that. But like i said I'm taking the better team as of the moment. Cavs are still struggling in playing team ball. I'll take the 6 points sir :-) Cavs win by 2-3.

With you on the Pelicans. They've been fighting hard and will only get better. LBJ & co. still figuring out how to play team ball. Kyrie should pass the king his scepter. Bosh was right in saying that you have to take a back seat when playing with Lebron.
Will take the 6pts and the clicking team as of the moment.

Hoping to keep the streak going... NBA Monday: PELICANS+6 On June 7, 2010 Monty Williams became the head coach of the Pelicans. During this stint he was able to have a record of 6_1 SU against the Cavs. I think this is a good spot for the Pelicans to cover and maybe even steal one. They'll be oozing with confidence specially after that huge win against the Champs on the road. Coach Monty will make sure that his boys will be ready for the next challenge. This could be a 5 game win streak coz they got the Lakers next and the Wolves at home before a grueling West Coast road trip.

YTD: 2_0_0 NBA Friday: MAGIC+2.5 The Wolves who are currently riding a good win in BK is getting a lot of love from the betting public specially after posting a 4-0 ATS start to the season. And now they are expected to win and cover a 2.5 spread in Orlando where they never won since Dec 2008. The line movement for the game from Orl+3 to Orl+2.5 is also suspect. If this goes to -2 (which I doubt) then I'm more confident. I really like Orlando in this spot. The Wolves are also on a b2b and the next opponent is a Miami team who lost 2 straight. They need their A-game for that one. |

Almost a triple double by Lance. A better game by Kemba. |

Good luck sir. With you on the Hornets. I think the Knicks are gonna take it easy specially after that Cleveland win. The triangle is not really being utilized. It's still majority Melo ball.

Back from a long hiatus where internet is scarce. And hoping to start the NBA season on a high note specially after hitting NYK ML @ Cleveland. Just keeping it plain and simple today.. HORNETS+4 After years of betting the NBA one might notice that teams tend to be lackadaisical after a HUGE win. Case in point was the Spurs@Suns game where the home team was favored by a mere 1.5pts. Obviously, majority was on the Spurs and we all know what happened..the Suns won (94-89). They then faced a mediocre Jazz team and got demolished by 29 points the day after. The public got hit again. Moving on....yes New York had 2 days of rest but that don't matter even if the Hornets had a bitter loss yday against Memphis. These are PRO's coming from a 2 day rest after a home win against the Bucks. I expect a better game from Lance (2pts, 1/6 FG), Walker (5pts, 1/11 FG) and of course the old reliable Al Jeff. Specially on a Sunday in the mecca of basketball, Madison Square Garden. They will be bringing their A game for sure. And it's worthy to note that as of this writing the public is almost 70% on the Knicks to cover. 1 point is huge in the NBA let alone 4 points. Case in point the Chi@Min game yday. |

NBA ATS (W/L/P) 8_4_1 67% NBA O/U 2_1_0 67% The Lakers have shown that they can win whenever they play at Staples on a Sunday. They bring their A-Game for the big name fans and the Laker loyals. So far they are 3-1 SU & ATS. Yes, Portland has been the hotter team but let's not forget to mention that the last time they got one in Staples was on 4/11/2010 with a 91-88 victory. I'm sticking with my gut that this trend continues. And I think the Blazers will be looking ahead to the b2b game against the league leader Pacers at their home floor. LAKERS ML (+135) |

NBA ATS (W/L/P) 8_3_1 72% NBA O/U 1_1_0 50% It's exactly been exactly 3 days and 3 years since the Pistons have won in Staples . To be exact, it was Nov. 14, 2008 when the Bad Boys led by Iverson (Yes, it's AI), Sheed (who is currently in the coaching staff) , Rip and Tayshaun beat the trio of Kobe, Bynum & Gasol at Staples. The score was 106-95. Now the line up has greatly changed. Lakers are without Bynum and Kobe. Pistons have upgraded their roster with the addition of Jennings & J Smoove. I understand that this is a Sunday game...all the Hollywood who's who will be watching. No wonder the betting public is obviously on the Lake Show. This may serve additional motivation for the Pistons who are currently ending their 4 game West Coast trip. They are currently 1-2. It would be nice to come back home 2-2 and prepare for the Knicks. NBA ATS (W/L/P) 8_2_1 80% NBA O/U 1_1_0 50% The Cavs were spanked on their last game against Minny. The Wolves even led by as much as 32 at the end of 3rd. This kind of beatdown sticks in players' mind. So far, the Cavs have been good at home with a 3-0 SU record but have only covered 1-2 ATS. But I like their spot right now because they've played well in their home floor against the Cats. In their 4 meetings, they are a perfect 4-0 SU & ATS. Beating them with an average of 16pts. Another angle I'm looking at is the Cavs loss to them on Nov. 1. This will provide additional motivation to the players for some payback. If we're lucky, it'll be the kind of payback they got from Minny the other night. Plus, the Cats are on a b2b against the champs at home. They maybe looking ahead so they can keep pace with the Heat. CAVS-6 Lean: MIL+14.5 I think the Pacers will be pacing themselves for the big showdown the next day at Chi Town. No need for them to expend so much effort and energy over the lowly Bucks. |

IMO, don't think they have vastly improved to earn 2-3pts.

NBA ATS (W/L/P) 7_2_1 78% NBA O/U 1_1_0 50% In their last 10 meetings, the Spurs have gone 10-0 SU and 9-1 ATS versus the Wizards. They are currently on a 3 game road trip in 4 days. First stop was OKC where they lost but covered on an overtime game (Beal, Wall, Ariza and Gortat averaged at least 40mins each). Then had a 1 day rest in Dallas where they got beat by 10pts (all starters averaged 35mins). And now on a back to back against a Spurs team with a day off waiting at home. I consider the Spurs well rested coz their b2b road trips against NYK and PHI were blow outs. Duncan didn't even play in the PHI game. I think fatigue will catch up to the Wizards who can't be half a step behind a well-oiled machine specially in their home floor. SAS-10
