Apologies as I had plans earlier, but I wanted to reply as I was the one who started the conversation. The good news is with so many responses it encourages brevity
@Mr_Armchair_QB - I never once said that I was coming on here to ask anyone to pay for my picks. I was asked the question of what my point was and I was honest with my answer. That was never intended to be meant that I would ever want anyone from here to pay for picks or that I would solicit such activity. My point was that I would love to be that successful. Like you I'm a normal person with a normal career, two pets, etc.
@AJMay - Why not post before the games start? Perhaps it's superstition.
@Polar_Bear - Your post cracked me up. Add in the fact that my wife works on a project where a Polar Bear is the mascot and you may have my favorite name on Covers. Though your comments about having fake bravado and a big mouth were unfounded and sophomoric.
@jumpinjeremy55 - I'm not a tout. Touts are a bunch of frauds who are best compared to Bernie Madoff. I've never promoted both sides of the same game. In fact I've never promoted any side on here.
Which takes me to @Lippsman - You're right, I don't post on here often. Most of the time I read and take information in. Tonight I decided to pose a question, nothing more.
@B__Rabbit - Just makes no sense.
Thank you all for your feedback regardless of whether it was thought provoking or mindless. Hope you all have a good evening and best of luck to you. |

[Quote: What's your point bro? Sorry been drinking dont mean 2 sound like a doiiick
No worries, apology accepted. I've been known to have a pint or two myself.
The point was thoughtful conversation on the topic and the impetus for why people do or don't provide information to others.
Sorry about your B's pick after the 1st. I'm a B's fan...appealing line, but tough spot for them tonight. |

I don't know what "a stout" is so I'm assuming you mean "a tout" which I certainly am not.
Congratulations on how you did in baseball. I'm not diminishing the accomplishment, but there is no real money involved so while impressive statistically it doesn't directly compare to the real world.
In any event I don't see the need to continue this dialogue further with you, but certainly will with others who wish to post appropriate commentary. |

I rest my case about the trolls.
As I said I didn't pose this question to start a fight, but merely to initiate conversation on the topic.
I'd love to say all of my picks are winners, but they're not. I think my favorite was posting BUF over PIT the other night and getting a response about them losing 6-1. Well...they can't all be winners right?
To answer your question, I never got into this to make other people money for free. I got into it to make money for me (to which I've been successful.) I hope that answers your question. |

Honestly, in the hopes of building a following and hopefully a business. Right now the selections are only provided pre-game to a few close friends who have been supportive of the endeavor.

I promise when I pose this question I'm not trying to be a jerk or sound like a know it all, but I'd like to ask those who read this thread the following. If you are good at what you do (in this case investing in sports and in particular hockey) then why would you give away the information for free here on a message board? Personally I've taken to sharing my picks after the games have started (normally after the 1st period.) I like to think that I've honed my skills on hockey and NFL over
the last several years. I've grown my bank account and when speaking
to people I don't get into the grainy details of how much I wager, but
simply speak in terms of units. Now I know the "trolls" are probably going to bash me, but honestly I'm looking to start a genuine conversation on the topic. Best to everyone!

Was this question ever answered? I'd be curious myself if there's been any changes on moving bitcoin funds. |
how long was the process for you?and what book?
Heritage was the book. Took roughly 9 or 10 hours I think to reach Block chain then maybe 30 minutes to go from Block chain to Coinbase then a business day to reach my bank. |

Just wanted to say thank you for the feedback. The following queried with ease...book account > blockchain > coinbase > bank account

I don't know anything about Nitrogen. Thankfully my summer vacation is almost here. I take a few months off when hockey ends.

Still getting used to BTC and getting ready to make my first withdrawal. I get the logic, but how do you transfer from Blockchain (which I just downloaded) to Coinbase?
This may be a silly question, but why is the middle step of Blockchain needed, and do you need to do the same for deposits? |

Pounding steam? I've been doing this for 20 years, but that's a new term to me.
I really just place a few single bets/week. I'm more picky than anything. I've had a nice run during the NHL Playoffs, but that's about it. |

Hey folks, I was just wondering if anyone else has experienced Heritage lowering their betting limits? When I signed up I was allowed $3k and now it's $500.
I got an email from them a while back saying that I wasn't a "recreational player" which I really took as a compliment as all I'd done was win a few games in a row. Believe me, I'm not bragging, I'm not even a high limit player. I've had some success, but nothing major. Just thought I'd hear what others have to say. |

Only if I see something I can't live without. I made a pick on Tuesday, and there are some good match-ups when they start playing again on 1/31 so I may wait.

Every book is different. BetUS uses whatever the lesser of the two is in counting towards the rollover. So if you bet a $200 to win $100 on a -200 line then only $100 will count towards the roll.
I suggest you ask before signing up/depositing. Also be sure to ask about withdrawal fees. Every place is different. |

Just one added note that Legends allows for one free withdrawal/month as a check sent via FedEx or DHL.
SBG charges $40 I believe for a withdrawal. |

Legends has a 25% cash bonus with a 5x rollover of deposits under $1k. I think it's 7x for deposits over $1k. Risk amount is considered in the rollover not like BetUS who uses the Win amount on Favs and the Risk amount on Dogs.
SBG has 20% cash with a 3x rollover. Same as above. They just use the Risk is counted towards the roll. |
