@Cowbeagle You are spot on. Making decisions based off those things you care about in life the most is essential to not allowing gambling to ruin a life. I appreciate you sharing your story and glad to hear that you have a good grip on the "bug". Best of luck for you! |

@TDHCentral
@Riderx @SucculentNuts @magiccarpetride Thank you for the input. I know that message boards have a mixed population and fully expect to get some ridiculous responses but I appreciate your genuine feedback. As we all know, it is easy to say "just quit" but after a little time passes you begin to romanticize the idea of sports betting and the adrenaline rush that accompanies winning bets but easy to forget the agony of losing. Discipline and moderation is essential. And I certainly don't go crazy with the amount I wager or blow through life savings but also am way too overly competitive and don't handle losing very well at all. It really bothers me to lose and I don't feel satisfied until I can "right" the "wrong" - which is a complete lack of discipline. Thanks again for reading through my long message and for the feedback. Best of luck to each of you! |

@aron25 If I didn't feel completely cursed I would be all about the MNF game and I already am aware of Wgomel and the Tennis Forum... he is good, but in the midst of my losing streak everything I touch right now is a loser. However, I hope you have good luck with your plays. |

@Unstoppable Force I think you are right in that if I am being 100% honest that I definitely check the boxes for a compulsive gambler. I am way too aggressive with my wagers and often times make bets out of anger from a previous losing bets (not clear minded). I am going to try to step away from gambling for a stretch of time. You mentioned GA... have you tried it before? |

@emchu I think I am going to be joining you. I have gotten crushed lately and feeling extremely "cursed".... like you, I am not new to the sports betting game and understand that there are highs and lows to this hobby.... but I have not experienced such a low as I am in right now. I would like to think I could sit out the remainder of the season but knowing the grip this gambling addiction carries it is more likely that I move to the sidelines for a few weeks. Regardless, I just wanted to let you now that I sympathize with you and wish you the best of luck whenever you decide to get back in the game. |

I have betting on sports for over 25 years and have a pretty solid feel for all of the major sports (pro and college). And the only thing that I know for certain is that I have gotten worse at picking winners. I am completely aware that if you choose to gamble that you can expect to go through cycles of winning and losing and have had to endure through some rough patches but have always seem to have stretches where I am hitting a high percentage of plays and able to capitalize on those runs to help maintain a healthy bankroll. I'm not sure what has changed over the past several months but I have turned into the most unlucky of gamblers. I'm also guilty of the #1 rule to NOT do in gambling is to chase your losses. I get overly competitive and pissed off when I lose a big bet and immediately throw money at the next available game (doesn't even matter what sport or if I have any knowledge of the opponents) but only that I want to get my money back. And, as all of us that have chosen this hobby understands, that very rarely pays off and you ultimately dig major holes on shitty plays. With all of that being said I have not made a sports book withdrawal in about 9 months - only deposits. And I used to make withdrawals monthly when I was really active for many years. So, I am torn between that rush I still receive having action on the games and the pure disgust and disappointment I feel following week after week of terrible luck and poor choices on my part as well as the thousands of dollars that I have lost over that time frame. Because I know many of you are on this site looking for gambling advice or giving it... I am interested to know if any of you have experienced a lengthy period of losing and how did you handle it? I have taken several different breaks throughout the past several months to see if I could "reset" and get back on a positive run but I simply cannot put together multiple winning days and/or weeks to build back up my bankroll. To be completely honest I would like to stop gambling all together. While it is a fun distraction and I love the feel of having action on the games I know it is also a major source of frustration and depression and definitely affects other aspects of my life. I'm probably addicted to gambling... I have managed to stop for periods of time but when I start betting again I usually go "all in" and end up betting on a lot more games then I had intended. I know that you guys are on here looking for a tip on the games or to rant about players and coaches and NOT to read about a bad gambler but, as I mentioned earlier, I would be interested in hearing if other experienced gamblers have hit such a long dry spell. |

I didn't have a second half wager but kept an eye on the Miami/Cal game.... that game capped off a wild Saturday of College Football. I know the Cal ML backers are absolutely sick because I thought the game was done in the 3rd quarter. Unbelievable performance by Miami though. |

What a terrible play on second down by the Miami QB! Besides killing his team's offensive momentum he cost me a live Over of 31.5. He has a lot of hype but seems to be overrated. Hate losing money anytime... but when you are in field goal range and a quarterback takes a completely unnecessary 15 yard loss it confirms that there are certain type of QB's you just can't trust to make the right play. |

That's brutal! I can relate with the UNLV second half... but all 4 are killers.

What a terrible finish. UNLV hurt themselves by not getting a game winning stop on the final drive of the game .... but the officials completely fucked them out of that victory in OT. Wow! |

Good God!! They have had so many opportunities to make a tackle or catch an interception to end the game and have failed miserably every time. Incredibly frustrating to watch if you have UNLV second half -1. If they could get the ball first in OT and score a TD and then keep "Cuse from scoring that would be perfect. |

@Cavs2017Champs
I am not claiming the game is scripted.... just pointing out that they missed a really big call at a crucial moment. Definitely a lot of things go into to determining the outcome of the game but you can't disagree that having a 8 yard run to make it 2nd and 2 inside the opponents 30 yard line to moving the ball negated by a holding call (and a missed defensive facemark call) moving the ball backwards to a 2nd and 23 near midfield isn't a pretty big momentum swing? Game isn't scripted. Officials aren't "in" on it. It was just an important missed call. The NFL officials are considered to be the best football officials in the world and paid a lot of money to do their job along with the incredible technology with cameras all over the field. There is nothing subjective about that call either - hands on the facemark and pulled the ball carrier down. It's a penalty. They missed it. And ATL benefited greatly because of it. |

@Taipei-Tony Fumble definitely hurt... but they also had a missed catch to a wide open receiver. I think that kind of washes out... but the penalty pushing the Bucs out of field goal range was costly! |

@Flyguy1700 I know... but when the ball carrier is thew one getting his face mask pulled it's hard to buy that they miss it. They have 7 officials on the field. One of them has got to see it. But, you're right. Missed calls are a part of the game. But when they decide to call a hold (which they could on 99% of plays) and miss a personal foul facemark that ultimately impacts the outcome of the game it is a tough pill to swallow. |

The Bucs holding call would have been offset and they would have remained in field goal position to take a 6 point lead forcing the Falcons to try to drive the field (without any time outs left) to score a TD. BIG difference then having to try to get in field goal range. Refs can't miss that call! |

@DVN73
He didn't wager on Brondy to win the match. The bet was for BTTS (Both Team To Score). So, with the score being 4-1 that would make the Brondy match a winning bet. |
