replied to Wisconsin opinions in College Basketball Illinois has been playing much better the last three games winning two of three and almost beating Ohio St away where they blew a 15 point lead. The game against Wisconsin was probably their worst on the year and have lost 3 conference games in OT along with a 3 pt buzzer beater so the record can be deceiving. replied to Maui invitational rims...soft? in College Basketball I was listening to the Vegas gambling channel on Siruis radio this morning and they had a bookie on talking about a lot of these holiday tournaments having soft rims because they want high scoring games. created a topic Chasing Winning and Losing Streaks in MLB Betting I have notice that I tend to talk myself into betting on a team because of a losing streak thinking they are due for a win even though I know better. My question is does anyone else tend to do this and does the line get effected since money will pour in for a team that lost say 7 in a row due to that thinking. I compare this theory to roulette. Even though every spin has the same odds, people will load up on a color if the board shows it hit opposite 10 times in row. To be short sighted Oakland has looked unstoppable the past two games but the opponents we not as good. Also, the line will be moved towards Oakland because people tend to have short term memory.
