I don't post this for anyone to tail, since it's mostly a compilation of much of what I've picked up on the board today, just feel like writing it down.

Didn't bet Charlotte, but was pondering UAB and you helped keep me off it........went 2-0 elsewhere (Marshall, St Joe's)
Thanks for keeping me off UAB.....

You may be completely right, but it appears that Jax is strategically putting players on the "injured" list, and the Jax newspaper this morning is urging the team to 'protect its assets'.
Also, hard to imagine Cincy will rest too many players considering they're playing for a first-round bye today. Having said that, these lines are big, and will personally only bet these games as part of a tease or two.

As a Jacksonville native and diehard Jags fan (ugh, I know, I know), the Jags have a lot of critical injuries.......Yeldon is out, Telvin Smith (their best player on D), both OT's maybe.........and the Jax newspaper this morning is urging the team to "protect its assets"........they were scarred last year by starting DT Sendarrick Marks blowing out his knee in a meaningless Week 17 game........they're urging the team to not roll Bortles out, etc...........currently, the Jags are sitting with the #3 draft pick, but with a loss can move up as high as #3........take all that for what it's worth
Good luck!

As always, you make good points. Let me just say as it relates to the Jags, that I am from J'ville and an enormous fan (ugh) and follow the Jags very closely. And, their injury list is enormous for this game......they're going to be without Yeldon and Telvin Smith (best player on D), and maybe both OT's. A lot of other guys are dinged up and the Jags are hinting that they may not be playing.......in other words, it feels like my Jags are tanking the game. If they lose the game, they could move up in the draft as high as #3. I think my plan for Week 17 is to adopt your theory and do something with Cincy, Carolina, Houston, and maybe New England. If Indy figures out who's starting at QB and we get a line, I may add them to the mix. Teases will be used liberally. (and maybe a small parlay) Thanks for your help. I guess the motivational angle is an important one in week 17. Regarding the Texans game: Texans are 98% in the playoffs. Will they bring all the effort or will they try to rest some players in the 2nd half? I guess the Jags are fine with their 7th draft pick. They desperately need it. So I wouldn't touch this game at all but would rather take Texans if I had to. |

Suuma, great work.......besides the Dolphins and Ravens, would you think that the "Week 17 big underdog" theory might also work with Houston vs the Jags and Indy (assuming Hasselbeck here) vs Titans?
Am surprised that the opening line on Houston is only -6......was expecting a bigger number.

Yeah, I hate to use the F-word (the other F-word), but that looked really, really bad. I didn't have money on it, btw.......just watching it in my office and knew what the spread was. Neither shot was close.
