Melbourne Storm, arguably the best team in the last 10 years of NRL......I am sitting down in my living room in 2010 with Melblurne winning there first 5 games and leading the comp with arguably 4 of the 7 best players in the comp (Slater, Smith, Cronk and Inglis).....They lose to Manly by a point......
Mmmm, i think based on that , i am going to put some $$$ on them to win the spoon...Yeah, i think they will come last, i think even though they are on top of the comp, i really believe they will lose 90% of there games......I think they will lose more games this season than they have in the last 6 seasons combined even though they have the best roster with the best coach.
Yep, i am putting cash on them to win the spoon.....
No NRL official told me they are going to get stripped of all there points and told me to get on
No Storm official told me they are going to get stripped of there points and told me to get on...
I just knew they were going to come last......
While i am at it, i might put some cash on the Phillies and Yankees to finish last in there division, i mean, there is a chance right?
so if some bloke walks into a tab today and has $100 on the storm to win the spoon then he is onto something? ask your mate at the tab how much they are hold on melbourne in those markets. I'll say a lot more then your beloved totals
And tell me how that is a "fix". That is insider trading, where there is no law against in gambling markets
keep stretching

What a masterpiece of caping......
Inglis, Slater, Smith, Cronk under Bellamy who was leading the comp, are going to come last..........I guess 6 people thought the same thing.......
For you to defend this, shows your extreme arrogance OR your xtreme desperation to some how convince everyone its fair game....

Those aren't fixes Loz, they are just a bunch of dumb NRL punters with money to burn, low self esteem and shit for brains.
It's the idiots like this, that keep these establishments in business.
Thing that concerns me about league is the massive input from the books and the fact the players earn a mere minuscule of the amount in other codes overseas. Corporate team dinners are put on by Centrebet and the like where players, coaches and management mingle with the guys running the books so it's like a crack dealer running a rehab and it just doesn't seem right. Only a matter of time before a massive scandal rocks the NRL if they continue to flirt with the devil and we're foolish to think shit smells like roses in the NRL. Any foreign sporting body looking in would say that this current game with the clear bookie input is more prone to 'corruption' as opposed to other codes where there is a strong line drawn concerning gambling
As far as determining outcomes with a full fucking pregame script written up and given to both teams prior to kick-off, well that's bullshit but they can dictate a game a certain way where the odds increase of a more favorable result for certain parties. Doesn't occur all the time but for us guys that have viewed a steady fucking diet of league over a number of years, there are some games where you're left scratching your head at some very dubious calls that directly or indirectly affect the outcome.
I bet league for entertainment and because I'm a 'leaguey' through and through and will continue to do so, it's not to pay the bills etc so take a bad loss on the chin, my gambling is more serious regarding the North American variety but the blatant bookie influence in the NRL has me very worried and is destroying the purity and overall integrity of the great game...

When the TAb took me to the dogs drags game the other week, i asked the guy from the TAB about potential rorts etc if they do anything about them. His reply was that they rely on Gallop and his team for the integrity of the game...I almost spat out my drink when he said this....I mean, the same people who cant even get the judiciary system right after years of failed attempts.

Can this be the last we all have to hear about this (non) issue now please ?
It just drags the whole mood of the forum down to have to wade through this stuff week after week

Not necessarily......you dont know the inner workings of what is happening...
as i said, it is all about getting on the right side......
and just on this one I feel a compelled to elaborate ... in my former profession it was a requirement that I spent the majority of working hours around an NRL team and ad to know everything possible about them before the general public did (including a lot of stuff the general public will never know).
DUring those few years I'd like to think I got to know the so-called "inner workings" moreso than a few drunken nights out on the gas with a player or two.

"There was a heap of money for Souths and then we heard the Benji rumour," Anderson said. "We're not sure whether Benji will play. We will try and get more information and hopefully re-open (today
So lets think this through logically....Benji would have withdrawn from the game....at the time of the decision, who would have known, him, his team mates, and coaching staff......
Did Benji call his family to bet against the Tigs on Sunday because he is out? Or did his team mates or coaching staff call there friends and families to bet against the tigs...
This is further proof.....NO ONE KNEW EXCEPT MEMBERS OF THE TIGS.......and they all jumped on.....
proof
the only proof here is you're an idiot
do you want to retract this post. or will you come out with some more bullshit?

You are just mad you didn't get on it, the info of the storm probe was posted at sportal a day early and the market started to crash that night, it was suspended a few hours later as people were hitting it. Remember when the titans were going to get done? The same people were betting on it and again the market was suspended, that one didn't come off tho lol.

If you all DONT think that the cowboys were initially in on the cowboys scandal, you are a wooduck.....
First thing first for the bookmaker was to make sure they did NOT lose money. After the TAB got wind of what was going down, they contacted the NRL.......The NRL contacted the cowboys and told them not to kick the goal.......
