I have money tied up with them indirectly through betfair (Aussie multies) but received an email saying that all open bets will be honored and that any money I have in my Aus wallet will be returned to me

Never used them directly though

They have been small time for sometime, just like sportsbet since the Paddy Power buy out. Can/could never get decent amounts on at both books.

I used to be with them when they were sportsalive. They used to have good plays especially on AFL totals. But I closed my account a long time ago. Very nterested to find out the reason behind them closing down.

I'm concerned at the comment from that news link and NRLisBank's comment. That kind of shit scares.

The only Aussie book right now I'd keep a good amount of money with is c/bet. Decent financial portfolio. The rest are a waste of time for anyone who wins and bets a decent amount. They all limit you big time.

Damn!!!! I had an account & used to bet with them regularly when they were known as Sports Acumen until the last few years or so. Following the name change, I didn't like how they used to frame their markets late & with shitty lines/odds and decided to move my money elsewhere. Thank goodness for that

Ah yeah sucks.. judging how my NRL season has been going I may have lost my bankroll anyway but still... was looking forward to having a punt on NFL 

No idea if theres anyone to contact to find out if people will get paid or not either

c/bet are piss weak, don't take a bet. It will only get worse, they are being bought by sportingbet, who in turn are being bought by ladbrokes.

There's only 1 book in australia worth anything, and they aren't sportingbet, c/bet, sportsbet or luxbet. The place where everybody copies their prices from

Well ALOT depends on if/how they mark you.
Sportingbet are the biggest joke of them all, ask for 500, they gave me 20. At least some of the others gave up to 200. 95% of the UK are just as bad.

BET365  are good. Never had an issue with them and always have live betting.

Or if you bet small. Bookmakers aren't worried about small timers
and yes bet365 are possibly the worst on the planet for cutting winning clients that aren't smalltimers.

I LEFT centrebet two years ago for this exact reason - they were appalling with cutting wager sizes and basically made it impossible for me to stay with them.  

topsport is the only australian based book I bother with. Very basic in terms of their betting options but they won't limit or cut even on smaller profile sports like netball.

1. Was'nt voluntary
2. The 1M+ in balances is so far off it a joke.. Try quadrupling that. So the 250k guarantee is about 8% of balances.

It is straight up fraud, and someone or multiple people should see jail time

However, I'm guessing every account will be paid in full. As a few buyers, 1 inparticular could save it all. Just depends how much more is uncovered by the liquidators at the end of it.
