Group G and an old man once said the world cup doesnt start until brazil play and its no exception this time. Firmino didnt make the cut, no obvious weakness in any area, theyre worthy faves.
The eastern europeans have great technical ability and I like the serbs to go thru as runner-ups with mitrovic and vhalovic upfront, cameroon have Eric-Maxim Choupo Moting and will grab a point or two but theyve been very unlucky with the draw.
Brazil/serbis/swiss/cam pays 4/1, brazil serbs straight forecast pays 9/4

Portugal are worthy faves, this is surely CR7's last tournament. Rest of squad is solid, Silva, Cancelo, Dias and Fernandes mean this should be another chalky group winner.
Uruguay have long been everyones alternative south american team, but star players cavani and suarez are past their prime now, they'll be relying a lot on Nunez who has had mixed form at liverpool, he'll be hoping on support from Valverde.
Ghana are officially the lowest ranked team here and have some useful players like partey and ayew and they could pip south korea for 3rd as the latter will be relying on Tottenham's Son who is injured and the rest of their squad mostly play in their weak domestic league.
Port/Uru/Ghana/S/Korea pays 5/1
Port/Uru straight forecast 7/4 and Portugal are great parlay fodder.
i'll look at some more specials tomorow

Fact : Only 8 teams have ever won the world cup and that includes Uruguay who won it when there were like 6 teams playing 90 years ago so 7.
Fact : The winner will come from Europe or South America.
Fact : The French have the best squad but the loss of Kante, Pogba and Benzema will be felt in the KO stages, Germany and Spain are in a slight rebuilding era, The Dutch and the Portugese are my @dark horses at 14-16/1, and maybe because i'm a tottenham and england fan and am conditioned to dissappointment so no confidence in them.
Lot of people going for argentina and last time for messi etc, like their squad but preference is for brazil, its very square but they have a slightlier easier draw if it pans out as it should, they are a settled squad, its good they're no superstars, they look better at the back than most recent brazil teams. Silva is getting on but has formed a good partnership with marquinos, neymar looks better now than when he was in his supposed primer 5 or so years ago, he and casemiro will feed any 2 of jesus, richarlison and vinicius jr. For me this is the most solid starting 11, yes theyre short right now at 7/2 and a lot of other good teams are twice the price but when they're evens in the QF's, the price will look big.

Boll, just wanted to stop in. out of time so making this quick GL net few weeks. ill get back to the writeups soon. your opener made me laugh:
" f*ck Qatar and F*ck FIFA, its sad the beautiful game is run by such corrupt, greedy administrators, rant over." i notice youve gotten over seeing two scottish clubs in the CL groups pretty quickly and have moved on
you just KNOW somewhere out there Sepp is smiling with tears running down his cheeks "my "students" have learned"
".......they look better at the back than most recent brazil teams. " we are definitely going to have a discussion about Sambas backline. im qualified to speak of such matter now. hope all is well with self & fam
