Copa America Thread

Hey All -

Been fighting an illness for several months, but feeling better and ready to go.

Will post what I am betting throughout this tournament.  Writeups might be short, might be long - depends on energy levels and time.  But rest assured, this is what I am betting with real money. 

Saturday 6/15:

Venezuela PK and +.5 (3 units)- wrong way favorite in this one, but should be a very low scoring match so I am not thrilled about taking Venezuela to win outright.  I will bet so that a draw wins half my bet - I see a 0-0 or a 0-1.

Colombia PK and +.5 (1.5 units) - similar reasoning to the Venezuela game.  Both will happily take a draw here.  1-1

Forgot to post odds.  Both of my bets are currently right around +100.

Sunday:

3.  Qatar +.5 +116 (1 unit) - Another low scoring game, expect Qatar to pack back and defend.  Two sides heading in opposite directions - Qatar has really been playing above their heads - winning the Asian Cup recently by winning all 5 of their games against some pretty good competition.  They are gearing up for the WC in summer of 2022 at home.  Paraguay is really a mess right now - have only won one match in a year and a half.  I will take the hot team here as a dog.  0-0

4.  Uruguay -120 (to win 2 units) - I don't normally like to bet to win in the first round, but Uruguay is good value here against an Ecuador side in poor form.  2-1

Monday:

Chile / Japan Under 2.5 -102 (1.02 units to win 1) - This is a tough one to get a handle on.  Japan is in a rebuilding stage, with one of the youngest teams in the tournament - and Chile is holding on to their older players for one last shot at a tournament win.  First match, Japan will likely sit back with 5 at the back - if there isnt an early goal this should stay under the total pretty easily.  Better matches to come later.  Chile 1-0

Tough loss. Last 2 goals for chile looks like garbage time goals.

Tuesday:

Peru -218 (4.36 to win 2) - mismatch here.  Peru should cruise, and win comfortably.  Low scoring - but controlled win.  1-0

Brazil / Venezuela over 3 -114 (1.71 to win 1.5) - Brazil could really win big here, but I am not willing to lay the -2 goals.  Venezuela can score also.  4-1
