My rinky dink little city has crap for shopping.  If I want to go shopping I head to Birch Run Michigan for their outlets or, if ik in the area, to Great Lakes Crossings in Auburn Hills MI.  That place is massive, it would take days to go through every store there

Birch Run is fantastic because it's right next to Frankenmuth Michigan, a little Bavarian town.  Amazing chicken dinners, German food, outdoor mall, and if your into Christmas the biggest Christmas store in the US (Bronners) 

Closer to my way, 45 minutes from me is Mackinac Island, only place in the world where they don't allow motorized vehicles.  It's like you are back in colonial times only bikes or horse and buggy for transportation.
