@Barbarossa
It is known as The September Effect. But no clear reason like @icemantbi said.
But they narrow it down to 4 or 5 things usually.
Summer is ending, back to school stuff. A lot of portfolios get re-balanced and some profit-taking. The Bond market with insurance companies and so on try to rejuvenate from a summer lull, so folks will shift in this direction. Then, especially after a long holiday weekend there can be a 'delay' to any perceived bad news.
All of that coupled with the self-fulfilling prophesy that is psychological because of the notion that bad things usually happen then.
I know several people that will actually go to cash before the end of Summer because of this.
But the good news is that the holiday spending will start up and people see good dips to buy.
So, the next few months after that usually see a sharp jump.
But like we always say -- past results do not guarantee future results.

@Skyfall
Call me shocked. NVDA beat earnings handily and their stock tanked. I knew something was fishy going on.
It's funny, the amount of people saying some games are rigged, but the biggest rigging is the stock market.

By the way, never underestimate the power of Wallstreetbets.
ASTS, RKLB, CLOV... all Pump and Dumps started with Wallstreetbets. ASTS rocketed up from $21 to $38 bucks a share now its all the way down to $29. Same with the others. If you want to make some easy money, just read through Wallstreetbets, see who everyone is pumping, buy and sell at a nice profit. But dont be a bagholder

@Skyfall
Really no need to call me out like that
But I backed the truck up.
Like the man said, “Don’t worry about the horse being blind, just load the wagon.”
